Geography programmes in the universities in the ASEAN countries have been involved in environmental education through the study of the earth as the home of man in general and of the physical environment in particular. However, there is a perceptible trend that the discipline at this level is on the decline, partly due to external factors and partly to its own making. The traditional strength of geography as an environmental science does no longer guarantee its future role unless there is a change to its approach in environmental education. This paper examines the present status of the discipline at the tertiary level in this region in the light of the above and calls for a new approach to the study of the environment. 相似文献

This study explores how graduate students enrolled in M.A./M.S. and Ph.D. geography programs perceive the social and academic
climate of their departments. A second objective is to understand how these students self-assess their own professional abilities,
values, and goals, and whether these self-assessments differ across demographic and institutional contexts. The survey instrument
for this research is based on data collected from graduate student focus groups and on validated constructs of academic culture
and climate from previous research. T-tests, ANOVA, and regression analyses identified significant differences among graduate students and their perceptions of
departmental climate when compared on the basis of gender, citizenship, race/ethnicity, disciplinary subfield, and institutional
type. Interview data provide additional context for analysis of the survey data. The primary areas in which we detected differences
in graduate students’ experiences were 1) diversity issues, 2) disciplinary and institutional cultures, 3) career planning
and development, 4) financial matters, and 5) quality of the learning environment. These differences result from the varying
social and academic dynamics of graduate programs, illustrating the importance of the local environment in shaping student
experiences.

2004年高考(上海卷)地理试卷包含两大部分:选择题和综合分析题。选择题部分共20题,每题2分,计40分。综合分析题部分有八大题,34个小题, 110个得分点。主要从经典的试题分析、考试结果的信度、考试效度的内容和结构方面的证据以及考试对教育教学的影响等几个角度对地理考试进行评价,得出下列结论:地理考试的能力目标是根据课程标准制定的,命题以课程标准为依据,难度略偏易,有一定的区分度;试卷的题量适中;选择题与非选择题比例适中,对学校的教育和教学有较好的导向作用。然而,综合分析题部分图文信息阅读量较大,应答文字表述较少,难以比较系统地考查考生独立的地理思维能力,这对教学的导向是不利的。 相似文献

The study is based on 6 months of intensive overt participant observation of the development of Executive Information Systems in a large multinational company. 媒介地理学是一门研究人类同媒介、地理的相互关系及其互动规律的学科。媒介地理学关注地理因素对媒介形态的影响以及媒介对地理样本的建构。一方面,不同的地理环境对媒介的形态与个性有着深刻的影响,另一方面,媒介凭借其对地理的命名与叙述,使真实地理的呈现充满了想象与虚构。从媒介地理学的学科渊源来看,它发端于文化地理学,从文化地理学形成的那天开始,媒介地理学也就诞生了。在研究方法上,举凡实证研究、批判研究、质化研究与量化研究等各种研究方法都应该成为媒介地理学常用的研究范式,借鉴地理学的“空间分析”方法,将有助于探讨媒介的“空间再现”和“地理想象”问题,建构起媒介地理学的学科理论。 相似文献
