同步辐射对直肠癌组织微量元素测定的意义探讨

采用同步辐射荧光分析光谱法（ＳＲＸＦＳ）对９例直肠癌及癌旁移行粘膜和正常粘膜中微量元素的含量进行分析，结果显示，癌组织中Ｃｕ、Ｚｎ、Ｍｎ三种微量元素相对含量分别为３８１９９．１６、１５５５７．０４和２０９．８６，显著低于正常粘膜组织（Ｐ＜０．０５，或Ｐ＜０．００１）；而宏量元素Ｃｌ含量为３４３８．１６，显著高于正常粘膜（Ｐ＜０．０５）。癌旁移行粘膜中Ｃｕ、Ｚｎ、Ｍｎ、Ｃｌ、Ｔｉ、Ｓｅ元素含量介于癌组织和正常粘膜之间，作者认为，微量元素Ｃｕ、Ｚｎ、Ｍｎ可能是直肠癌的相关性元素，癌旁移行粘膜多种元素含量变化趋势，提示癌旁移行粘膜可能是一类潜在性交界性瘤变。     

Circulating Biomarkers and their Possible Role in Pathogenesis of Chronic Hepatitis B and C Viral Infections

The present study evaluated the plausible role of circulating biomarkers in immune pathogenesis of chronic hepatitis considered a priority in clinical hepatology. Total viral load of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) patients was quantified and correlation studies were performed with circulating levels of Th1/Th2 cytokines; C reactive protein and circulating nucleosomes; glutathione reductase (GR) and superoxide dismutase. To our knowledge, the study is first among its kind that validates strong positive correlation of viral load with IL-4, IL-6, GR in HBV and IL-6, IL-10, GR in HCV infections. Although, multi-centric studies including large cohorts are required for translating our findings to clinical practice, however, role of these biomarkers with potential diagnostic or prognostic significance might be helpful in clinical assessment of high-risk individuals, thereby, designing interventional strategies, towards development of personalized medicare. The results of our study also offer valuable insights of immune signaling mediators engaged in development of hepatocellular carcinoma.     

Evaluation of Luteolin in the Prevention of N-nitrosodiethylamine-induced Hepatocellular Carcinoma Using Animal Model System

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the commonest tumors worldwide. The treatment of HCC is vital for disease diagnosis and prognosis, as the liver is the most important organ controlling metabolic functions. Now-a-days, western folklore medicines are largely dependent on the phyto compounds which are highly effective in therapy and with low side effects. Luteolin is a flavonoid (3,4,5,7-Tetrahydro flavones) possess anti-inflammatory, anticancer and anti allergic property. The present study evaluates the efficacy of luteolin against N-nitrosodiethylamine (DEN) induced HCC in albino rats. In the highlight of the above, luteolin was evaluated for its efficacy against DEN induced HCC in male Wistar albino rats. The Biochemical parameters such as tissue damaging enzymes viz., AST, ALP, LDH and γ-GT, enzymatic antioxidants viz., SOD, CAT, GSH and GPx and histopathological changes have been estimated. The tissue damaging enzymes were found to be high in DEN alone treated group whereas the enzymatic antioxidants decreased destructively. Severe lesions and cirrhosis were observed in the toxin (DEN alone) treated group. The luteolin treated DEN group altered the tissue damaging enzymes and the enzymatic antioxidants. The damaged lesion in the histoarchitecture of DEN treated rat liver was almost completely restored. Finally this study strongly demonstrates that luteolin has potent curative property against HCC in albino rats.     

Metachronous contralateral testicular and bilateral adrenal metastasis of chromophobe renal cell carcinoma: a case report and review of the literature

Metastasis of gastric carcinoma to the thyroid and lung: a case report and review of literature

Cancer metastasis to the thyroid is extremely rare. The more commonly reported primary sites for metastasis to the thyroid are the kidney, breast, lung, colon, esophagus, and uterus. Thyroid metastasis from the stomach has only been reported in three cases. Herein, we report a 71-year-old man presenting with bilateral thyroid multinodular lesions. Bilateral near-total thyroidectomy was performed due to airway compression with related symptoms. Wedge resection of a suspicious pulmonary nodule, detected on CT, was performed for diagnosis. Polypoid lesions in the stomach were examined by trans-scopic biopsy. Poorly differentiated adenocarcinomas with the same histological profiles were noted at these three sites. The immunohistochemical staining for thyroglobulin of these specimens was negative. We conclude that a new thyroid mass appearing in a patient with present or prior malignancies should raise the concern of metastatic disease.     

Survivin在原发性肝癌组织中的表达及其临床意义

目的 研究Survivin在原发性肝细胞癌中的表达水平及其临床意义,探讨其表达水平与原发性肝细胞癌发生发展的关系.方法 将101例原发性肝细胞癌及32例正常肝组织标本用免疫组化SP法检测Survivin的表达.结果 Survivin在原发性肝细胞癌组织中的表达明显高于正常肝组织中,差异具有统计学意义（p＜0.05）;在原发性肝癌中,Survivin的表达与肿瘤的淋巴结转移以及肿瘤的分化程度显著相关（p＜0.05）.结论 Survivin在原发性肝癌中的表达与肿瘤的发生发展有关,Survivin可作为判断原发性肝癌预后的指标之一.     

人鼻咽鳞癌细胞CNE1/R PECAM-1真核表达载体的构建

通过TA克隆技术及二步克隆的方法构建人鼻咽鳞癌细胞CNE1/R PECAM-1的真核表达载体。将已克隆至Pmd19-T Simple载体的PECAM-1基因片段使用Not/HindⅢ酶切,亚克隆至pcDNA3.1/myc-His(-)A载体并双酶切及测序鉴定。成功构建了人鼻咽鳞癌细胞CNE1/R PECAM-1的真核表达载体,为下一步建立人鼻咽鳞癌PECAM1基因过表达细胞系奠定了基础。

Oral Cancer is one of the five leading sites of cancer in Indian population. The circulating immune complexes were investigated in 100 serum samples of 60 oral cancer patients having different grades of the disease and 40 patients with precancerous lesions obtained from Nair Hospital Dental collage, Mumbai. The results obtained were compared with those of group of 40 healthy blood donors. Elevated levels of Circulating Immune Complexes were observed in oral cancer patients and patients with oral precancerous lesions. 92% positive samples were observed in well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma whereas 100% positive samples were observed in both moderately and poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. Oral leukoplakia and oral submucous fibrosis showed 15% and 90% positivity respectively. Increased level of Circulating Immune complexes in high grade tumor suggest that Circulating Immune complexes is likely to contribute in evaluating the degree of malignancy, but follow up study is needed to draw any conclusion regarding it's prognostic role     

Exploring the Potential Role of Chemopreventive Agent,Hesperetin Conjugated Pegylated Gold Nanoparticles in Diethylnitrosamine-Induced Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Male Wistar Albino Rats

Liver cancer is the fifth most common cancer and is still one of the leading causes of death world wide, due to food additives, alcohol, fungal toxins, air, toxic industrial chemicals, and water pollutants. Chemopreventive drugs play a potential role in liver cancer treatment. Obviously in the production of anticancer drugs, the factors like poor solubility, bioavailability, biocompatibility, limited chemical stability, large amount of dose etc., plays a major role. Against this backdrop, the idea of designing the chemopreventive nature of bio flavanoid hesperetin (HP) drug conjugated with pegylated gold nanoparticles to increasing the solubility, improve bioavailability and enhance the targeting capabilities of the drug during diethylnitrosamine (DEN) induced liver cancer in male wistar albino rats. The dose fixation studies and the toxicity of pure HP and HP conjugated gold nanoparticles (Au-mPEG₍₅₀₀₀₎-S-HP) were analysed. After concluded the dose fixation and toxicity studies the experimental design were segregated in six groups for the anticancer analysis of DEN induced HCC for 16 weeks. After the experimental period the body weight, relative liver weight, number of nodules and size of nodules, the levels of tumor markers like CEA, AFP and the level of lipid peroxidation, lipid hydroperoxides and the activities of antioxidant enzymes were assessed. The administration of DEN to rats resulted in increased relative liver weight and serum marker enzymes aspartate transaminase, alanine transaminase, alkaline phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase, and gamma glutamyl transpeptidase. The levels of lipid peroxides elevated (in both serum and tissue) with subsequent decrease in the final body weight and tissue antioxidants like superoxide dismutase, catalase, reduced glutathione, glutathione peroxidise, and glutathione reductase. HP supplementation (20 mg/kg b.wt) significantly attenuated these alterations, thereby showing potent anticancer effect in liver cancer and the HP loaded gold nanoparticels (Au-mPEG₍₅₀₀₀₎-S-HP) treated animals shows the better treatment than the pure HP due to the solubility of drug, bioavailability and the target drug delivery of the biodegradable polymer. Histological observations were also carried out, which added supports to the chemopreventive action of the pure HP and HP loaded gold nanoparticles (Au-mPEG₍₅₀₀₀₎-S-HP) against DEN induction during liver cancer progression. These findings suggest that HP loaded gold nanoparticels (Au-mPEG₍₅₀₀₀₎-S-HP) shows better efficacy than the pure HP against lipid peroxidation, hepatic cell damage and protects the antioxidant system in DEN induced hepatocellular carcinogenesis.     

单克隆抗体MC3用于大肠癌和腺瘤的免疫组织化学研究及其预后意义

用单克隆抗体MC_3在福尔马林固定的48例大肠癌、31例癌变腺瘤、42例伴有不典型增生腺瘤、40例腺瘤、13例息肉以及48例正常肠粘膜组织切片上用免疫组化(PAP)法检测,结果MC_3相应抗原的表达阳性率分别为93.8％(45/48)、80.65％ (25/31)、47.62％ (20/42)、37.5％(15/40),其阳性率差异有非常显著性(P<0.001).48例正常肠粘膜均为阴性.MC_3在大肠癌组织中的反应程度与患者3年生存率有关,差异有显著意义(P<0.05).MC_3反应强度在高分化肠癌组与中～低分化肠癌组比较差异有显著意义(P<0.05).在绒毛状腺瘤、混合性腺瘤和管状腺瘤中MC_3相应抗原表达阳性率分别为71.4％(25/35)、60.0％(9/15)、41.3(26/63),差异有显著性(p<0.05).绒毛状腺瘤、混合性腺瘤和管状腺瘤其癌变率分别为45.7％(16/35)、13.3％(2/15)、20.6％(13/63),其癌变率比较差异有显著性(P<0.05).
