Rival firms produce products with a variety of characteristics. It is typically assumed that consumers purchase those products that most closely match their ideal set of characteristics. Orthodox production theory economics offers no analysis of how to divide limited product development budgets between different characteristics. Furthermore, orthodox consumer economics assumes buyers make compensatory trade-offs between different product characteristics; this approach ignores problems caused by bounded rationality that, in complex choice environments, leads buyers to formulate simplifying heuristics such as hierarchical (non-compensatory) preferences over characteristics. An integrative analytical framework is developed, drawing upon orthodox economics, behavioural economics and evolutionary economics. Implications for the relationship between incremental product development and the firm's evolving capabilities are emphasized.  相似文献

Every day millions of news articles and (micro)blogs that contain financial information are posted online. These documents often include insightful financial aspects with associated sentiments. In this paper, we predict financial aspect classes and their corresponding polarities (sentiment) within sentences. We use data from the Financial Question & Answering (FiQA) challenge, more precisely the aspect-based financial sentiment analysis task. We incorporate the hierarchical structure of the data by using the parent aspect class predictions to improve the child aspect class prediction (two-step model). Furthermore, we incorporate model output from the child aspect class prediction when predicting the polarity. We improve the F1 score by 7.6% using the two-step model for aspect classification over direct aspect classification in the test set. Furthermore, we improve the state-of-the-art test F1 score of the original aspect classification challenge from 0.46 to 0.70. The model that incorporates output from the child aspect classification performs up to par in polarity classification with our plain RoBERTa model. In addition, our plain RoBERTa model outperforms all the state-of-the-art models, lowering the MSE score by at least 28% and 33% for the cross-validation set and the test set, respectively.  相似文献

建设项目工期的最优确定与控制问题一直是项目管理理论和实践工作者十分关注的课题之一。当业主(即发包商)利用奖惩手段激励承包商压缩工期时,业主和承包商就成为工期决策博弈的参与者,奖惩激励的优化问题就是一个完美信息下的二层主从递阶博弈问题。在此基础之上,文章引入政府作为社会规制者,并利用数学方法,最终揭示了在建设工程实践当中,政府综合运用立法行为、行政干预等手段限制招投标和项目合同中的业主垄断行为这一现象所蕴含的重大理论背景。  相似文献

学校效能研究的兴起为教育评价的改革指出了一条发展之路。教育增值评估是目前学校效能评价领域较为科学合理的一种方法。本文在对某市高中语文进行增值评估模型构建的基础上认为,多层线性模型是较为有效的教育增值评估模型。学生的学习能力水平、入学时的语文成绩以及学生的性别对于其高中语文学习有显著影响;学校学生的平均入学成绩、学校的规模以及学校的文理科比例对于学校的语文增值有显著影响。  相似文献

This paper deals with the statistical modeling of latent topic hierarchies in text corpora. The height of the topic tree is assumed as fixed, while the number of topics on each level as unknown a priori and to be inferred from data. Taking a nonparametric Bayesian approach to this problem, we propose a new probabilistic generative model based on the nested hierarchical Dirichlet process (nHDP) and present a Markov chain Monte Carlo sampling algorithm for the inference of the topic tree structure as well as the word distribution of each topic and topic distribution of each document. Our theoretical analysis and experiment results show that this model can produce a more compact hierarchical topic structure and captures more fine-grained topic relationships compared to the hierarchical latent Dirichlet allocation model.  相似文献

Self-concept is linked to student achievement in many domains. In this study, we examined reading self-concept's (RSC) and RSC calibration accuracy's links to reading achievement across different contexts via multi-level analyses of 34 countries' 158,848 fifteen-year-olds' reading tests and questionnaire responses. Students with higher RSC, higher calibration accuracy (of RSC to their reading scores) or underconfidence (relative to their reading scores) had higher reading scores. RSC was more strongly linked to reading scores in countries that were richer, less equal, more collective, less uncertainty averse, less hierarchical, or less rigid regarding gender roles. Calibration accuracy was also more strongly linked to reading achievement in more hierarchical, individualistic, or uncertainty-tolerant countries. In more individualistic countries, underconfident students were more likely to have above average reading achievement. Hence, excessive confidence does not necessarily benefit students, especially in more individualistic countries.  相似文献
