青年马克思的共产主义理论

共产主义是马克思理论的重要组成部分。在《1844年经济学哲学手稿》中,马克思在人本主义哲学的大背景下批判地建立起自己的共产主义理论,此时他虽然肯定共产主义的历史合理性,但是仍在共产主义之上设定了社会主义的更高存在。在《德意志意识形态》中,马克思在清除掉人本主义哲学背景的同时也放弃了社会主义的更高设定,直接将共产主义规定为特定生产力基础上的社会形态。以《德意志意识形态》作为起点,马克思开始以共产主义者和无产阶级革命家的面目活跃在世界舞台上。     

Majority/minority size and the evaluations of persuasive arguments

The present study examines the influence of relative minority size on perceptions of argument quality and attitude change. Strong and weak arguments for both cautious and risky positions were presented in conjunction with information describing the size of minority factions as either small or large. Results demonstrated that cautious argument quality influenced perceptions of argument quality only when the majority advocated a cautious position or when the minority faction was large. Results are discussed in light of their implications for normative and informational influences in group polarization.     

Power Lines: The Rhetoric of Maps as Social Change in the Post–Cold War Landscape

After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of state socialism in Eastern and Central Europe, cartographers were faced with choices on how the new post–Cold War political landscape would be mapped. One such group called the Pluto Project had been producing atlases since 1981 with a progressive point of view about the nature of state power in the Cold War. This essay examines two of the Pluto Project's atlases as they function to identify a radical cartographic style that animates the social control of space by subverting traditional cartographic forms and defying scientific expectations and standards.     

Continuity and change in storytelling about artificial intelligence: Extending the narrative paradigm

Drawing upon the concept of homo narran, this essay suggests an extension of Fisher's narrative paradigm, that of glimpsing the processes of continuity and change underlying storytelling, via the concepts of Brown (1978). This approach is illustrated specifically through a rhetorical analysis of a storytelling process presently ongoing in popular discourse about the relationship between human beings and artificially intelligent computers. It reveals the communication patterns used to maintain and shift ideologies, thereby influencing cultural/social continuity and change.
