Leveraging information and communication technologies (ICT) to enhance education equity,quality, and efficiency: case studies of Bangladesh and Nepal

ABSTRACT

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have had significant impacts on many sectors in today’s knowledge economy. In developing and emerging countries, ICT have enhanced equity, quality, and efficiency in the education sector. However, the adoption of ICT in the South Asian countries’ education sector has not been at scale and its impacts have been limited. There are several gaps and issues that are hindering the wider adoption of ICT and limiting its impacts in the education sector. Through the case studies of the adoption of ICT for education in Bangladesh and Nepal, this paper examines the gaps and issues to be addressed in order to better leverage ICT to enhance education equity, quality, and efficiency. This discussion is guided by the ICT in the education framework that has been developed by the authors, and could provide insights into the state of ICT in education and offer strategies to better leverage ICT for the education sector of other countries in South Asia and the region.     

大学生心理弹性、应对方式与睡眠质量的关系研究

分析大学生心理弹性对睡眠质量的影响以及应对方式在心理弹性对睡眠质量的影响过程中产生的中介效应。采用问卷法分别对随机选取的206名在校大学生进行心理弹性、应对方式以及睡眠质量状况研究,结果发现,三个变量间两两的相关性极其显著,并且通过Process分析发现,应对方式在心理弹性与睡眠状况之间产生部分中介效应。

基于创新能力提升的CDIO工程教学改革研究

针对现阶段课程教学缺乏对学生进行社会和环境的认知与责任教育,缺乏企业实际考核评价,不能满足企业用人需求,文章以“创新能力提升”为导向,以机械设计基础课程为例,构建基于“创新能力提升”CDIO教学体系,研究教学任务设计、实施、考核评价方法,以提高学生解决实际问题能力、创新能力以及职业素养等综合职业能力,培养善于解决问题、具有创新精神、富有责任感的高素质高技能人才。     

Strengthening internal quality assurance as a lever for enhancing student learning experiences and academic success: lessons from Namibia

Higher education plays an important role in the social, economic and political development of any given nation. In the Namibian context, quality assurance systems have been put in place at both national and institutional levels through the establishment of national quality assurance agencies and units responsible for quality in institutions. A critical literature analysis of quality assurance systems in higher education shows that although they claim to strike a balance between improvement and accountability, external quality assurance mechanisms tend to have an accountability and compliance focus and to promote managerialisation and bureaucratisation of academia. This article argues that internal quality assurance systems, built on a strong quality culture, tend to be more effective in enhancing the quality of student learning experience and academic success than externally driven quality assurance. Thus, to promote genuine quality, more energy must be invested in external quality assurance capacitating and strengthening internal quality assurance systems.     

高校体育教学加强体能训练的重要性和对策研究

高校的体育教学中,体能虽然被提出并加以强调,但在实际的课程教学中却因各种原因被忽视,未能真正合理的安排体能教学与训练。因此,提高高校体育教学中体能训练的地位和训练效果,是当前高校体育教学需要思考和解决的问题。本文运用文献资料法对体能训练的概念、高校体育教学开展体能训练的重要性进行分析,运用实验法对高校体育教学课30分钟体能训练的有效性进行研究,为高校体育教学开展体能训练献计献策。     

职业院校学生职业素养的培养路径

职业素养作为一个职业人必备的核心素养,如何提升学生的职业素养可以说是每个职业院校面临的一个重要问题。论文分析了职业素养教育过程中存在重知识重技能轻素养、职业素养课程体系不完善、缺乏相应的师资力量、职业素养培养方式单一且形式化、学生自身不重视职业素养的养成等不足,从"完善教育理念,从根本上重视职业素养教育;构建完善的职业素养教育课程体系;整合师资资源,全员全方位育人;借助第二课堂,开展丰富多样的教育活动;积极引导,培养学生的职业素养意识"等方面提出了职业院校学生职业素养培养的路径。
