In the competitive marketplace of higher education, colleges and university leaders increasingly rely on the influence and service of their alumni to further institutional goals. Because of their demonstrated financial commitment to the institution, alumni donors are often enlisted to serve important roles as volunteers and political advocates. Using binomial logistic regression, this study examines a large sample of alumni donors from a large doctoral/research extensive university to predict donors who are most likely volunteer at the institution (via advisory board service, political advocacy, alumni club support). The study suggests that volunteering among alumni donors is predicted by capacity variables related to gender, residence, and overall civic engagement. Inclination to volunteer is associated with the quality of academic experience while an undergraduate student, beliefs about alumni volunteer roles, and number of degrees earned at the institution.  相似文献

The study done in Slovenia examined grammar and elementary teachers’ perceptions of cooperative learning. The sample consisted of 542 Slovene elementary and grammar school teachers, who teach Slovene. The main question of the research was how teachers assess the value of group learning in comparison to individual forms of learning. From their perceptions, we can draw conclusions about their development, the introduction of group work within lessons and about the encouragement of pupils towards collaborative learning. The main finding of the research is that elementary school teachers place greater importance on group learning than grammar school teachers. In addition, when teachers are grouped according to their years of experience (seniority), there are differences in their assessment of group learning. However, it is not possible to get a linear pattern from the results (e.g. showing that years of experience do or do not contribute to the perception of the importance of group learning), a finding which supports the critical opinion that teachers’ experience depends not only on the quantity (years of experience), but also on the quality of experience.  相似文献

The supra-national level has become increasingly important in educational policy formulation. This paper describes and compares two settings in which growth in these supra-national policies is evident—in Europe and in Africa. Key themes arising in policy documents in each context are examined. A distinction is drawn in analysis between themes classified as ‘global means’, such as qualification frameworks and quality assurance mechanisms, which are becoming international norms and which show close similarity across contexts, and regional goals or ‘themes’ in supra-national policy. The paper argues that although there are apparent similarities between the policy goals espoused in ‘regional themes’, context plays an important part in understanding the meanings of these policy goals. In closer analysis, there are differences both in the underlying problems which the policy goals are intended to address, and in the prioritisation given to these goals. This finding is examined in the light of debates regarding policy convergence, specifically drawing on Vaira’s (2004) framework for institutional analysis.  相似文献

There is an often-overlooked but critical factor at the center of institutional child sexual abuse that must be acknowledged and addressed: adults tend to place the interest of institutions and other adults above the protection of children. As the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse has shown, this phenomenon is evident across institutional settings and any institutional reform aimed at improving child safety must therefore guard against this tendency if it is to be effective in protecting children. In the United States there are also other barriers to dealing with child sexual abuse in institutional contexts. State government responses to the challenges of child sexual abuse have varied. However, the federal governmsent has been silent on the problem of religious institutional sexual abuse. This commentary considers how the politics of religious liberty in the United States inhibits action by protecting institutions that cover up child sexual abuse.  相似文献

为探索我国企业取得高开放式创新绩效的路径,在中美制度环境与产学研合作背景不同的情况下,本文选取了中美两国19家典型企业,运用QCA多值集定性比较分析方法,对比分析中美企业开放式创新的多重路径。研究发现:(1)中美企业获得高开放式创新绩效路径各有两条。(2)其共同点是都具备良好的知识产权保护环境和产学研合作。(3)对中美企业而言,外商直接投资和产学研合作同时缺失会导致企业开放式创新绩效下降。基于此,为我国企业的开放式创新提出相应的建议。  相似文献

基于数字经济产业创新性、成长性、全局性、效益性等维度构建评价体系,对我国26个省份的数字经济产业发展水平进行测算,并以此为结果变量,运用模糊集定性比较分析研究方法,分析营商环境与数字经济产业发展之间的复杂因果关系,识别出产生高/非高数字经济产业发展水平的制度组态。结果显示,(1)影响区域数字经济产业发展水平的营商环境兼具殊途同归和多重并发的特征,能够产生高数字经济产业发展水平的营商环境包括政府激励下以数字基础设施为核心的创新引领型、市场主导下以数字基础设施和法治为核心的多元共促型、政府规制下以数字基础设施和法治为核心的创新引领型、政府规制下以数字基础设施和法治为核心的市场驱动型等4个组态;(2)数字基础设施建设水平和法治化条件是驱动数字经济产业发展最为核心的营商环境要素;(3)过强的政府规制水平会对数字经济产业发展产生阻碍作用。基于此,提出完善监管体制等进一步促进数字经济产业发展的政策建议。  相似文献

在新常态下,出口贸易将承载更多国家创新驱动发展的战略功能。本文基于我国2013~2020年省级平衡面板数据,检验了出口贸易对我国区域科技创新的影响,固定效应模型和工具变量(IV)模型回归结果均表明:出口贸易有助于提升区域科技创新,并且随着吸收能力增强上述提升效应更明显。进一步研究还显示,制度环境亦有助于强化以上提升效应。多元检验结果均表明,前述结论具有较好的稳健性。本文进一步厘清了出口贸易对区域科技创新逆向溢出效应的能力边界以及制度边界,有助于优化出口贸易的战略定位,对贯彻新发展理念,优化制度环境,构建“开放引领创新”的经济新体制亦有较强的政策价值。  相似文献

科技成果转化效能低一直是推进科技赋能、实现科技强国的阻力。为推动科技成果转化效能提升,需要从各要素出发,探索要素结构性差异和配置困境,助力科技成果转化全要素配置。结合TOE理论和扎根理论,构建包含技术、组织、环境3类主范畴、8类次范畴在内的高校科技成果转化要素分析框架,对16个不同领域高校科技成果转化案例分类进行对比。研究发现,高校科技成果转化要素配置结构主要分为4类:环境制约型、技术—组织依赖型、环境—组织依赖型、均衡配置型;要素配置困境主要来源于政府、市场、高校、专业服务机构、科研团队五大主体,当前存在顶层设计缺失、专业服务体系不健全、人才流失、技术与市场供需不匹配等困境。  相似文献
