Minority Cultures and Social Media: Magnifying Garifuna

This paper looks at social media use by the Garifuna people. It explores how they are using social media to create a supraterritorial cyberscape. Despite the claim that global media is marginalising minority cultures and causing global homogenisation, this research found that newer forms of social media are in fact creating virtual cultural cyberscapes that are extending minority cultures. The Garifuna cultural response to social media can be demonstrative of the positive impact of social media minority perspectives. The larger implication, though, is that traditional geographical models of cultural space are becoming obsolete. In this research, a total of 60 Garifuna in locations all across the United States and Honduras were selected for participation. Their access to and use of media were examined.

通过查阅大量的相关资料和十余年的临床验证对腹肌训练与健康的关系进行分析与探讨,阐述腹肌的训练方法,提出了腹肌训练与人体健康的关系。旨在为促进人类健康,以及为医生、康复医师、社会指导员、健身教练员及广大健身爱好者提供借鉴和理论参考。     

国际体育仲裁与国际商事仲裁比较

从仲裁事项、仲裁庭管辖权、仲裁程序法律适用、仲裁裁决承认与执行的角度比较体育仲裁与商事仲裁,以分析体育仲裁的特点,提出可以借鉴中国国际经济贸易仲裁委员会管理域名争议的做法,暂由其管理体育争议.     

第27～29届奥运会候选城市环保条件的比较与分析

采用文献分析方法，通过研究国际奥委会环保政策的制定与对申奥城市的环保要求，比较分析第27～29届奥运会候选城市的环保条件以及其在获取奥运会举办权中所起的作用。结果认为，悉尼获得第27届奥运会的举办权，得益于结合当时世界环保浪潮而在申奥史上首次提出“环保”口号；制定具体的“环保”措施，则是雅典取得第28届奥运会主办权的制胜法宝；北京取得2008年奥运会的主办权，则与首次将环保列入申办纲领和提倡环境教育分不开的。     

The development of the teacher clarity short inventory (TCSI) to measure clear teaching in the classroom

This study presents the Teacher Clarity Short Inventory (TCSI) as an alternative to existing measures of teacher clarity. Though existing scales measure both the clarity of content and classroom processes, they are disproportionate in length when compared to common instructional measures, such as measures of immediacy, student state motivation, and student affect. Analyses revealed a 10 item scale with an acceptable factor structure, acceptable reliability and validity. Furthermore, the instrument measures both the clarity of instructional content and instructional processes.     

《中国文献编目规则》和RDA对电子资源著录的异同分析

通过对《中国文献编目规则》和《资源描述与检索》(RDA)的一般文献类型标识、资源类型与数量项、载体形态项、附注、标准编号5个方面的对比分析发现,RDA关于数字资源著录的条款更多,规定更具体,内容更丰富,体现出RDA不仅适用于传统类型文献的著录,更能适用于电子资源这一文献类型的著录。RDA取代AACR2是大势所趋,《中国文献编目规则》也应顺应文献资源种类和格式变化的要求,适时作出修改,以满足数字时代和网络时代的需求。     

Fear appeal messages affect accessibility of attitudes toward the threat and adaptive behaviors

Fear appeals have long been used in persuasive messages to motivate people to perform adaptive behaviors. This research explored the influence of a fear appeal message concerning breast cancer on attitude accessibility. Messages advocating the efficacy of breast self‐examinations increased the accessibility of attitudes toward the adaptive behavior. Further, the accessibility of participants' attitudes toward the adaptive behavior predicted behavioral intentions to perform breast self‐examinations. Attitudes toward the threat became less accessible after exposure to a high fear‐arousing message, however. Analyses suggest that defensive reactions to the fear‐inducing message mediate the influence of the message on the accessibility of the attitudes toward breast cancer. Implications of these findings for models of fear appeals are discussed.
