Abstract

This article discusses ongoing changes and future challenges in collecting multi-ethnic and multi-cultural archival materials, as viewed in the context of several collecting projects undertaken by the former Balch Institute for Ethnic Studies in Philadelphia.     

Engagement as Co-Generative Theorizing

To meet current and ever shifting problems people continually need new and better ways to attend to, talk about, and respond in the world. All communities can have an impoverished language for talking about human interaction and making decisions in times of fundamental and rapid change. Three current impoverishments are discussed. Engaged scholarship using co-generative theorizing can initiate productive conversations enriching the languages of both scholarly and everyday life communities.     

Negotiating the Model Minority Image: Performative Aspects of College-Educated Asian American Professional Men

This study is a chapter in a larger work, in which the authors explore how eight college-educated Asian American professional men negotiate the model minority image to present the performative constructions of their multiple identities within the racialized and gendered context of U.S. organizations where they work. The authors first discuss the participants' perceptions of how others view their social identities as part of a homogenized concept, regardless of their diverse Asian American subjectivities. Then, they examine how the participants engage in performative aspects of the model minority image to promote positive impressions on others and to empower themselves in U.S. organizations. Exploring the subjective standpoint of being the model minority in the context of mainstream organizations, the authors aim to further reconsider the concept of identity as relational in the context of intercultural interactions.     

Preparing literary material for public utterance

This essay claims that arguments about the genres of discourse contain as a crucial element an attribution of status, which involves a dialectic of authority and marginality. Rhetorical scholarship is often a reaction against the condition of marginality. Reflection on these matters illumines the ontology of rhetorical discourse.     

当代"Science Studies"视阈下的客观性概念

在当代“Science Studies”领域之内,存在着两个大的亚研究纲领,即SSK和后SSK。在SSK的思维框架之下,科学仍然是知识和表征,其客观性是由社会利益所决定的;而后SSK则将科学看作是一种动态的实践,其客观性在于实践过程中不以人的意志为转移的瞬时突现性。在本体论上,SSK仍然坚持康德式的自然与社会的二元论,而后SSK则打破了这种二分,认为自然与社会共同地建构了科学;在认识论上,SSK试图寻求现象背后的本质———社会利益,而后SSK则只关注科学实践中的各种可见的异质性要素的相互作用。     

国内毛泽东思想研究的历史进程及其特点

六十年来国内毛泽东思想的研究进程大致经历了初始时期、发展时期、受挫时期和成熟时期四个阶段,各个阶段都表现出各自极其鲜明的时代特色.总的特点是毛泽东思想的研究进程与毛泽东思想的形成、发展过程相伴随;学习、宣传毛泽东思想与研究毛泽东思想有机互动;客观、公正、全面和深入是毛泽东思想研究成熟的体现.     

隐喻词语国俗语义产生的认知基础

从认知角度探讨植物词语的国俗语义中蕴含的这种特殊的看待世界的方法和角度,即国俗语义产生的认知基础.指出植物词语国俗语义的形成、发展过程实际上是古人所创作的诗歌隐喻逐渐向日常生活中的常规性隐喻演变的一个动态的过程.在这个过程中,国俗语义被不断地丰富加深,植物词语本身的内涵也得到升华.     

《中国戏曲通鉴》序·《中国古代文学研究丛书》序

《中国戏曲通鉴》是河南省社会科学院文学研究所王永宽研究员主持编写的一部综合戏曲史编年著作,丰富了文学史研究领域,对戏曲史研究更具有重要的路碑意义。湘潭大学文学与新闻学院编纂的《中国古代文学研究丛书》,第一批计有五种：蒋长栋著《唐诗考释的理论与实践》,是对唐诗注释和考证的理论上的探讨与阐释;李剑波著《清代诗学话语》,从总体上来认识清代诗学的本质和基本规律;蒋长栋主编《中国韵文文体演变史研究》,通过“以韵为核心”的艺术质素和“以情为核心”的内容质素,来界定韵文的文体特质;徐炼著《古典文学新读》,涉及对《诗经》、杜甫诗和李商隐诗的解读,展现了作者积累的研究心得;吕斌笺校《龙启瑞诗文集校笺》在校笺本集、收录资料的基础上,对晚清“岭西五大家”之一的龙启瑞进行了较全面的分析评价。

文章对首尔国立大学通识教育课程及博雅教育体系的内容进行了梳理与评介,分析了其通识教育课程、学习基础课程以及核心课程的实施与相关的教学和课程管理措施,指出了其在通识教育课程设置、选课与学分要求、教学模式与考评规定等方面的实践中值得我国高校学习的方法与研究领域。
