A Probe into the Relationship between Native Language Thinking and the Oral English Output Process of the College Students

Scholars have used the method of thinking aloud to conduct experiments on the relationship between mother tongue thinking and college students’ spoken English output process.Referring to the experimental data,this essay try to do a further study on mother tongue thinking’ function of each oral output process,especially the function of the idea-organizing.It is designed to enable non-English major college students consciously to take advantage of the positive transfer of mother tongue thinking and take the initiative to adapt to the English thinking pattern in order to achieve the objective of improving their English oral communication skills and ensure the effectiveness of language learning.     

Analysis of the Causes of Chinglish in Spoken English among Students

Chinglish is what occurs when the Chinese language and English language crash into one another.When native Chinese speakers who are learning English attempt to directly translate Chinese into English,using Chinese sentence structure,wording and grammar,a blend of Chinese and English happens.Among Chinese English teachers and English as a second language (ESL) foreign experts working with students,this phenomenon is commonly referred to as Chinglish.In order to help students to overcome Chinglish in their oral English and cultivate their sensibility of foreign culture and mode of thinking the awareness of the causes of Chinglish is a must.This paper focuses on analyzing the causes in terms of negative transfer of mother tongue and the differences between modes of thinking and cultural backgrounds.     

二语写作过程中的认知思维研究——以泰州学院为例

本研究对泰州学院中外合作背景下58名ESL（English as Second Language）学习者的二语写作过程进行了问卷调查;并对调查结果中的认知思维做了相关分析.结果显示：（1）ESL学习者在写作中大量借助母语思维;（2）学习者在文本创作过程中借鉴了语码转换、重复、边写边说、头脑风暴等认知思维技巧;（3）头脑风暴等认知策略能够帮助学习者进行文本内容、结构的构思,有助于提高学习者的二语写作水平.

《凯风》是千百年来传诵不衰的一首诗,但它的诗旨却是学术界一直争论不休的话题,其主要原因在于对诗中的几个问题解释失当。从凯风与母亲、棘与子、寒泉、黄鸟的声色几个层面,用文字学、语法学、文献学、生物学的方法予以诠释,得出其诗旨是“歌颂与自责并行”的结论。     

News Coverage of U.S. Mothers of Soldiers During the Vietnam War

The press of World Wars I and II depicted patriotic mothers as Spartan-like in their support of the nation's war effort. During the Vietnam War, another maternal image emerged to share cultural space with the Spartan mother, that of the goddess Thetis who objected to her son's participation in the Trojan War. This alternative maternal symbol more closely resembles the archetypal image of the peacetime good mother, who cares for her children and resists sending them into harm's way. This study documents coverage of maternal opposition to the Vietnam War against the backdrop of coverage of US mothers of soldiers in the earlier world wars. The comparison suggests that the Great Father's failure to control the press and promote the war to US citizens provided an opportunity for Thetis' rising.     

20世纪80、90年代中国女作家笔下的母亲形象

"母亲"作为一种文学形象在父权社会中一直处于被神话的状态。传统的书写方法是把母亲塑造成贤妻良母,这是男性出于自身需要而刻意制造的神话,这一书写方式成为一种常规,影响深远。而当代女作家们却发现了这种书写方式的男权意味,采用了不同于传统的书写方式,对母亲进行了颠覆性书写:写出母亲的恶和母亲的欲望,并对母女关系重新审视,对女性历史进行构建,使母亲形象变得更加丰富而真实。这种文学活动是在特定的语境中发生的,其发生与创作主体的人生经历、所处的社会经济环境、西方审丑意识的影响等不无关系。     

《朱丽小姐》中母女形象的女性主义解读

与其说斯特林堡的《朱丽小姐》是"自然主义"杰作,毋宁说它是一个女性主义批评的标本。其中早期的女权主义者朱丽小姐母女的形象被妖魔化了,她们被塑造成人性扭曲、行为失控的歇斯底里的"坏女人",最终被镇压被唾弃,精神分裂,走向毁灭。这两个形象实际上掺杂着作者对女性,特别是对接受女权思想影响的女性的偏见和厌恶,这与作者个人经历有关,同时更表现出父权制意识形态对其创作的重大影响。
