医学统计学结合科研训练课程教学改革的实践

医学统计学在科学研究中的重要性不容忽视。为培养本科生的医学科研素养,提升他们科学的统计思维和解决科研实际问题的能力,在医学统计学本科生课程教学中,有必要结合科研训练的课程。文章在分析医学统计学教学现状的基础上,提出了医学统计学结合科研训练教学的新模式,并结合实际教学经验就教学内容、教学模式、考核方式的改革提出了具体的思路和实践方法。希望通过加强对本科生的科研训练,提升他们的科研意识和科研创新能力。     

Digitizing IKS: Epistemic complexity, datadiversity & cognitive justice

In contemporary African societies where multiple systems of knowledge coexist, and the use of informatics is becoming increasingly widespread, conventional perspectives drawn from cultural anthropology, environmentalism, development studies and intellectual property rights are insufficient guides to thinking about the digitization of indigenous knowledge. Taking an interdisciplinary approach, three moments in South African knowledge dynamics are used to probe some of the ontological, epistemological, and performative implications of science/IKS interaction in the design and construction of archives and databases of local plants. Twenty-first century databases of indigenous African medico-botanical knowledge need to assure that it is recontextualized historically and socially; that its multiplicity, visuality, and orality are retained; and that “articulation work” is done to make sure that design choices and use are cognitively just.     

The Prague Spring Archive at the University of Texas at Austin

ABSTRACT

There is a noted lack of primary historical documents related to the Prague Spring, one of the key moments in the Cold War, available online. As such, there is a need for an online resource that presents these primary documents in their entirety, allowing researchers and the public to engage with these materials in a user-friendly, open access format. The Prague Spring Archive, a new project at The University of Texas at Austin, fills this gap. This article addresses the development, promotion, and future steps of the project.     

科学与人文的起源、分离和复归

科学与人文作为人类文明的两翼都起源于人类对客观规律的认识 ,前者、后者分别产生于对人与自然关系规律、人与人关系规律的认识。人类社会的发展 ,人类认识、实践分门别类的分化 ,引起了科学与人文在一定程度上的分离 ,使得科学技术成为一柄既可以造福人类、又可能危害人类的双刃剑。当代新技术革命的综合化趋势使科学与人文两大文化相互复归 :高度发展的科学技术将通过系统的纽带复归于人文精神 ,不断进化着的人文文化也必将复归于以客观因果规律为基础的科学文化。     

Digitizing more for less: Digital preservation at The College of New Jersey

ABSTRACT

This article explores the challenges faced and overcome by The College of New Jersey Library while digitizing a large amount of delicate material without any staff specially dedicated to the project and without any funds allocated specifically to support it. To achieve the project's goals without incurring additional cost, project management surveyed the utilization rates of existing library resources. This led to the discovery that underutilized resources and previously purchased equipment in the library could be assigned to the project, without negatively impacting other areas of the library. Allocating these resources to the project resulted in increased digitization progress without incurring additional staffing or equipment costs. Support from and collaboration with other departments on campus also assisted in staffing and promoting the project.     

Claiming expertise from betwixt and between: Digital humanities librarians,emotional labor,and genre theory

ABSTRACT

Librarians' liminal (intermediate) position within academia situates us to make unique contributions to digital humanities (DH). In this article, we use genre theory, feminist theory, and theories of emotional labor to explore the importance of discourse mediation and affective labor to DH and the interplay between these areas and academic structural inequality. By claiming our expertise and making explicit work that is often not visible, we can advocate for new and varied roles for librarians in digital humanities. Our analysis is informed by both theory and practice, and it takes a dialogic approach that depends upon the interactions between the two.     

Weeding with Wisdom: Tuning Deselection of Print Monographs in Book-Reliant Disciplines

As university libraries transition to digital collections and new services, their book deselection projects often lead to the adoption of cross-discipline quantitative weeding criteria (such as age and low circulation) in the interest of speed and presumed fairness. Cross-discipline quantitative rubrics, however, can have unintended negative consequences when applied to disciplines such as history and literature that rely on older books with low circulation statistics. The authors argue for a discipline-differentiated approach to weeding academic library collections that can employ quantitative criteria for disciplines, such as in the sciences, that are more reliant on current materials and qualitative criteria for disciplines, such as in the humanities, whose scholars benefit from ready access to older and low-use books.     

理工科大学发展人文社会科学的思考

繁荣哲学社会科学和现代高等教育的发展趋势提出了理工科大学发展人文社会科学学科的任务。理工科大学发展人文社会科学面临着一些问题,树立"人文教育与科学教育融合"的教育理念对理工科大学有着特殊的意义,理工科大学发展人文社会科学应该有自己的目标定位,特色学科和交叉学科是理工科大学发展人文社会科学的比较优势,为此理工科大学可以通过相应的思路及措施来发展人文社会科学。     

科学-人文教育:涵义、特征与意义

科学-人文教育是作为整体的教育存在和作为教育的整体存在的表征,是科学教育与人文教育在培养人的社会实践中整体融通、相互建构生成的一种存在性、一体化联结,其呈现在于科学教育与人文教育的相对平衡、科学教育与人文教育的边缘对话和全面成人理念的树立。这样一种教育存在及存在展开的生存形态,具有关注教育过程、兼重科学教育与人文教育、强调成人的精神取向等特点,它表征着教育谋求自身完整存在的某种完成,推动科学教育、人文教育成为本真的教育,促进教育致思转向生成性思维。     

新医科教育背景下社会医学课程思政的思考

社会医学是社会学与医学的交叉和边缘学科,课程从社会学角度研究人类健康与疾病,探究影响健康和疾病的社会因素,以及他们之间的规律,为社会卫生策略的制定提供依据。社会医学对大健康理念的构建有十分重要的作用,已成为医科类专业的重要课程。文章通过分析社会医学课程特点,在社会医学课程教学过程中,提炼课程所蕴含的思政元素,探索新医科教育背景下课程思政育人点与课程专业知识点的衔接、切入,探索各教学环节可实施的途径,为全面提升医科学生的品德修养和职业技能提供可借鉴的思路。
