Supporting the development of early years students’ professional identities through an action research programme

ABSTRACT

This paper discusses the aims, rationale and aspects of a new Action Research (AR) module developed for level 6, Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) students. The aims of the module are three-fold: First, to support learners in developing the research and academic skills needed to investigate their own practices, generate knowledge and engage in critical reflection. Second, to assist students to be active agents in questioning and designing changes to improve their practice. Third, to support them in disseminating their work in the public sphere and thus take an active part in discussions about their field of practice. Drawing on the processes of ongoing reflection and collaborative enquiry, our vision is to emancipate our students; support them in repositioning themselves as powerful agents with significant insights and the power to make a difference to their practice. However, facilitating emancipatory AR can pose several challenges, on individual, institutional and political levels. The aim of this paper is to reaffirm the rationale for AR as an epistemological, methodological and political tool that can support the professional identities of our learners; also, to address some of the anticipated complexities and tensions of employing emancipatory AR in an academic environment.

运用思维导图促进职校学生英语学习能力

近年来,职业教育受到了党和政府的高度重视,在教学改革中培养和提高学生的自主学习能力迫在眉睫而又任重道远。与普通中学相比,职业学校的学生,特别是高职学生需要涉猎的知识非常广泛,而教师在课堂上难以面面俱到,通常只讲授重点、难点,其余部分知识由学生自己去阅读和钻研。因此,教师必须在课堂中不断探索方法,帮助学生提升学习兴趣,培养学生自主学习的能力,使学生养成终身学习的习惯。     

太平天国妇女政策述评

在中国历史上，妇女向来是处于被压迫、被奴役的地位，太平天国却主张把妇女解放出来，使她们在政治上、经济上获得了同男子平等的地位。妇女们参军参政，以自己的实际行动，推动了太平天国革命运动的发展。     

林语堂与袁枚

林语堂对有清一代的袁枚十分推崇，这包括赞赏其天赋独厚、性灵自由、思想解放、民本思想和退隐独居等很多方面。不过，林语堂有更多地方与袁枚不同，像宗教信仰，科学、平等、自由等现代意识，白话文体，尤其是中西方文化的融会观等都是这样。还有性情的差异，即袁枚生活放任甚至放荡，而林语堂则更为自律节制。     

Does mind wandering mediate the effects of habitual reading motivation on comprehension?

The present article reports on a study that examined how individual differences in habitual reading motivation affect a reader's tendency to engage in text-related and text-unrelated thinking during reading. Two-hundred participants read each three texts about finance and meteorology topics and answered comprehension questions afterward. Participants' thoughts during reading were assessed with retrospective ratings and thought samples. Habitual reading motivation was assessed with questionnaires in a separate session prior to reading. Structural equation models fit to this data revealed that more motivated readers reported less mind wandering, more engagement in elaborative thinking and comprehension monitoring, as well as higher topic interest. Furthermore, the beneficial effect of reading motivation on comprehension was partially mediated by mind wandering, elaboration, comprehension monitoring, and interest. Our findings offer a novel explanation for the well-known beneficial effects of reading motivation on comprehension: habitually motivated readers are more likely to engage in text-related thinking and avoid text-unrelated thoughts.     

“实践的转向”和“性与天道”的统一——论中国马克思主义者建构天道观和心性论的独特思路

哲学作为智慧之学，既要认识世界又要认识自己，所以天道观和心性论自古以来就是哲学的基本内容。中国马克思主义者，通过对实践观点的创造性发挥，立足于实践过程中改造客观世界和改造主观世界相统一的基本原理，形成了建构天道观和心性论的独特思路，充分展示了马克思主义哲学的“实践的转向”的理论潜力。本文对这一思路的形成作了一番历史的考察。     

关于办学理念的思考与实践

本文作者运用理论与实践相结合的方法，就办学理念在办学中的地位与作用，办学理念的形成与实施发表了个人的实践体会和理性思考。同时具体介绍了所在学校现行办学理念及其实施目标，以期与同行交流探讨。同时，就如何有效地在管理实践中贯彻办学理念提出了若干基本认识。     

中国历史上的思想解放及其启示

与西方文明发展和思想进步的轨迹不同,中国走的"思想解放"道路漫长而艰辛。认真分析我国思想解放运动的特点、得失,并从中得到一些启发和思考,对于当今"解放思想、扩大开放"有着积极意义。
