Users’ continuance intention of virtual learning community services: the moderating role of usage experience

Users’ continuance intention plays a significant role in the process of information system (IS) service, especially virtual learning community (VLC) services. Following the IS success model and IS post-acceptance model, this study explores the determinants of users’ intention to continue using VLCs’ service from the perspective of quality, including perceived information quality (completeness, relevance and timeless) together with perceived interaction quality (responsiveness and connectedness) and focuses on the moderating effect of usage experience. The research hypotheses are empirically validated by using the responses received from a survey of 313 college students and the research model is assessed by structural equation model. The results show that perceived information quality and perceived interaction quality can directly affect perceived usefulness (PU), perceived satisfaction and ultimately determine users’ continuance intention. In addition, the findings verify that usage experience plays an important moderating role. The impact of PU on continuance intention is greater for low-experience users. In contrast, the impact of information satisfaction and interaction satisfaction on continuance intention is greater for high-experience users.

对委婉语的解读是一个复杂的认知过程。本文从认知语用的角度出发,尝试从语用意图的可及性、语境知识的共享度、语用推理过程及隐喻机制四个方面分析影响委婉语解读的认知语用因素,以期交际者能正确解读委婉语,成功地利用委婉语进行交际。

Examining the Influences on Faculty Departure Intentions: A Comparison of Tenured Versus Nontenured Faculty at Research Universities Using NSOPF-99

This empirical research examines the predictors of intended departure for tenured vs. nontenured full-time faculty at research and doctoral institutions across an array of disciplines. What are the characteristics of those who intend to leave their institutions? Do tenured and nontenured faculty show different patterns of intended departure? And what are the implications for institutional policy and practice? This study proposes a theoretical model of faculty turnover intentions and tests the model on two groups of faculty surveyed in the 1999 National Study of Postsecondary Faculty (NSOPF-99). Using Structural Equation Modeling, we find both similarities and differences in the dynamics of intended departure between the tenured and nontenured faculty populations.

试析语用原则在英语文学作品中的运用

语言作为意义的载体体现了语言使用者的交际意图,在语言交际中人们往往会有意识地选择所使用的措辞以达到其交际的目的。在这个过程中人们要么遵循会话原则,要么违反这些原则,无论作者或说话人做出什么选择,其最终目的都是为了达到其所期待的效果。文学作品虽然与日常的交际会话不同,其所表达的内涵也往往需借助语用原则尤其是会话原则理论才能得以充分的理解。本文试图通过分析英国作家毛姆的短篇小说《万事通先生》(Mr.Know-all)来说明语用原则对文学作品理解的作用。     

李二曲教育思想刍议

清初大儒李二曲继承和发扬了传统儒家注重“为己之学”的教育智慧,通过对“过”、“悔”“新”的重新诠释和改造,创造性地提出了“悔过自新”说,深化了儒家关于自我教育的思想。该学说以性本善和人皆有“过”为自我教育的起点,以转念和慎独为自我教育的方法,以实现个我之“新”和社会之“新”为自我教育的目标,将儒家教育思想中的自我教育原则推向极致,对发展现代教育不无启发意义。
