Financial technology, or FinTech, involves the design and delivery of financial products and services through technology. It impacts financial institutions, regulators, customers, and merchants across a wide range of industries. Pervasive digital technologies are challenging the fundamentals of the highly regulated financial sector, leading to the emergence of non-traditional payment systems, peer-to-peer money exchanges and increased turbulence in currency markets. This case study explores the development of a FinTech company in China that offers microloans to college students. Five lessons learned are presented for organizations to better manage the challenges and to leverage the opportunities amidst the disruption of financial sector. Our findings also shed light on how digital technology 1) offers the strategic capability for a firm to occupy a market niche in financial sector, 2) enables the generation of alternative credit scores based on non-traditional data, and 3) improves the financial inclusion of previously excluded market segments. 相似文献

Statistical inference involves drawing scientifically‐based conclusions describing natural processes or observable phenomena from datasets with intrinsic random variation. We designed, implemented, and validated a new portable randomization‐based statistical inference infrastructure ( http://socr.umich.edu/HTML5/Resampling_Webapp ) that blends research‐driven data analytics and interactive learning, and provides a backend computational library for managing large amounts of simulated or user‐provided data. We designed, implemented and validated a new portable randomization‐based statistical inference infrastructure ( http://socr.umich.edu/HTML5/Resampling_Webapp ) that blends research‐driven data analytics and interactive learning, and provides a backend computational library for managing large amounts of simulated or user‐provided data. The core of this framework is a modern randomization webapp, which may be invoked on any device supporting a JavaScript‐enabled web browser. We demonstrate the use of these resources to analyse proportion, mean and other statistics using simulated (virtual experiments) and observed (e.g. Acute Myocardial Infarction, Job Rankings) data. Finally, we draw parallels between parametric inference methods and their distribution‐free alternatives. The Randomization and Resampling webapp can be used for data analytics, as well as for formal, in‐class and informal, out‐of‐the‐classroom learning and teaching of different scientific concepts. Such concepts include sampling, random variation, computational statistical inference and data‐driven analytics. People often show their personalities and ideas to others with customized products (e.g., rings, shoes, cups). Online customization delivers special experience and various values to customer. Western scholars focus on online customization experience from either process value or results value. However, this division ignored the entire perception from consumer, and hampered the research development of consumer perceived value's concept, measurement, and consequences. Moreover, might there be difference between Chinese and Westerners? If so, what about them? Four studies with Chinese examine the concept, measurement and consequences of perceived value on online customization experience from the perspective of customer experience. The results show that the Perceived Value of Online Customization Experience (PVOCE) in China is a multi-dimensional construct that includes process and results values, and PVOCE scale has good criterion validity. Therefore, the study can provide theoretical and practical implications for Chinese enterprises to understand and manage customers' online customization experience. 相似文献

This paper reports on the Video Viewing Task (VVT), an assessment designed to measure teachers' developing understanding of two reading comprehension instruction approaches: Reciprocal Teaching (Palincsar, A. S. & Brown, A. L. (1984). Reciprocal teaching of comprehension-fostering and comprehension-monitoring activities. Cognition and Instruction, 1(2), 117–175) and Questioning the Author (Beck, I. L., McKeown, M. G., Hamilton, R. L., & Kucan, L. (1997). Questioning the author: An approach for enhancing student engagement with text. Newark, DE: International Reading Association). The VVT consists of video excerpts that teachers view and comment on during their viewing. The VVT also includes a series of questions to guide teachers' reflections after viewing. Analyses of teachers' comments and reflections in response to the VVT provide evidence that the VVT captures teachers' entering conceptions and is sensitive to changes in teachers' developing understanding following professional development specific to the two instructional approaches. 相似文献
