地方高校大学英语后续教学研究

大学英语课程教学当前处于转型时期,政府教育部门、高校以及外语教学专家们都在积极探索全球化背景下的大学英语教学出路。地方高校由于受到硬件和软件条件的限制,在大学英语教学改革的背景下更应探索并完善自己的发展道路。将大学生的英语四、六级考试需求及其对专业英语的学习需求结合起来,实现大学四年不间断的英语学习,是一项积极的探索。     

ESP与BTEC相结合的英语写作教学模式探索

以能力本位教育为理论指导,以高职高专工学结合为框架,探讨了高职英语写作教学新模式：以提升学生职业行为能力为导向制定高职ESP写作教学目标;以职场交际内容为依托设计高职ESP写作教学内容;以“反映工作过程”为理念实施高职ESP写作模块化教学方法。借鉴BTEC模式,改革高职英语写作考核评价方法,考核以“课业＋口试”为主要形式。旨在提高学生的英语写作水平,提升学生的职业行为能力。     

基于ESP理论的航海专业英语口语教学研究

在经济全球化进程日益加快的今天,如何能够改革航海英语教学课程结构,提高学生的英语水平,特别是口语水平,是值得广大英语教育工作者思考的问题。文章以ESP理论框架为切入点,在分析航海英语口语教学现状及问题的基础上,针对航海专业学生的特点,设计出适合航海专业学生口语教学的改革措施。     

行业英语的发展与高职大学英语合作教学

随着高职外语教学改革的不断深化,人们越来越认识到培养学生英语应用能力的重要性。针对这种现状,高职院校纷纷开设了行业英语的课程,行业英语有广义和狭义之分,广义的行业英语就是指专门用途英语（ESP）,它包含职业英语（EOP）与学术英语（EAP）;狭义的行业英语就是职业英语,是指结合学生所学的专业及与其今后的职业相关的技能英语。要提高学生的行业英语能力,教师的教学是极其重要的环节。高职院校行业英语教师分为两种,一种是普通语言教师,另一种是专业教师。两种老师各自承担行业英语的课程都会有困难,需要语言教师与专业教师的多模式的合作教学才能达到行业英语教学的预期目标。     

We have been living with this pain: enquiry-based language learning in Iranian higher education

This article explores an understanding of learning as authentic enquiry and language as a social practice of meaning construction as the theoretical perspectives underlying an educational initiation beyond mainstream tertiary language education. With a general ethnographic approach and relying on multiple data sources, we investigate critical practices of teaching medical English in an Iranian university and illustrate a contextualized instance of enquiry-based language learning that embodies enquiry and discovery in two senses: students’ research and learning about the content for oneself, and moving away from spoon-feeding views of academic language education to experience language in real social contexts. On this basis, we argue for stepping beyond predetermined content-based approaches to university language teaching and call for living the language that is being learned, which involves enquiring, experiencing, discovering, challenging, and owning it.     

The reality of virtual worlds: pros and cons of their application to foreign language teaching

This article presents our experience of testing the OpenSim platform as a tool in teaching French to 108 tourism students at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid, Spain). The article begins with some theoretical reflections on the behaviour of the student when using a virtual platform by means of an avatar, and with our observations of how this doubling of identity is actually the greatest asset of virtual worlds when we intend to apply them to teaching (1. Introduction). Then we move on to present our goals and method of work (2. Aims and methodology) and to analyse the development of the virtual space or sim, setting out the teaching strategies that were employed in each of the islands we created, and which correspond to reading comprehension, listening comprehension and written expression (3. Metaverse design). In order to assess the language learning results, we also devised tests throughout the experiment, which were repeated one month later. The assessment shows that the process of language acquisition is positive (4. Results analysis). Finally, we demonstrate that the rise of virtual worlds has been backed up by psycholinguistic factors, but at the same time their applicability and sustainability depend on technical aspects and very especially on theoretical and pedagogical tenets which are still to be drawn up (5. Conclusions).     

新课程下的体育学习评价研究

采用文献资料法,对传统教学大纲中的体育学习评价与新课程下的体育学习评价的四个方面,即体育学习评价的目的、评价的内容、评价的方法和评价的主体进行比较分析,得出在体育学习评价中,应淡化甑别与选拔的功能,强调激励和发展的功能;应采用多元化的评价内容、评价方法和评价主体。为真正地实现体育课评价的公正、公平提供理论参考。     

艺术类高职高专英语ESP教学模式探讨

随着中外文化交流的日益频繁,艺术类高职高专英语教学肩负着培养具有英语文化交流能力特别是能运用英语进行艺术专业信息收集、传递、分析的人才。目前的英语教学模式重在帮助学生打好语言基础。ESP教学模式有效运用交际教学理念和实践,同时对现有的师资、教材教法也提出了更多的思考空间。文章通过对艺术类高职高专英语教学的关注,试图对ESP教学模式的实施进行探讨。     

任务型语言教学下的ESP课程自主学习

本文从任务型语言教学理论入手,分析TBLT对于促进学习者自主学习的优势,提出在中国的ESP教学中运用任务来实现对学习者自主学习能力的培养与提高,并对可能存在的问题进行了探讨。     

The potential formative benefits of portfolio assessment in second and foreign language writing contexts: A review of the literature

This article identifies the potential formative benefits of using portfolio assessment (PA) in second/foreign language classrooms by reviewing the up-to-date research. Three methods were used to search for relevant research: database search, manual search, and citation search. According to the literature, PA has potential benefits due to its process-oriented, authentic, integrated, interactive, and learner-centered characteristics. PA leads to increased motivation, learner autonomy, and improved writing performance. However, not many studies include observation as a method of collecting data. Through observation a researcher can investigate how the benefits of PA are acted upon and negotiated. There is a need for more empirical research in the juxtaposition of PA and formative assessment, particularly in primary and secondary education.
