Understanding primary teachers’ professional learning and practice: an activity theory lens

In this study, the author reports on the professional learning of three primary teachers who engaged in three cycles of collaborative action research over a three-year period from 2013 to 2016. Case study was chosen as a methodology to gain insight into the context of the teachers’ work as they interacted with others and adopted multiple tools. Data collection and analysis were on-going over a three-year period, using several sources, including classroom observations, interviews, portraits and teacher-created multimedia artefacts. Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) and its activity system unit of analysis (subject, object, tools, norms, community and division of labour) was used by the author to describe changes in the professional learning of the three teachers, the contradictions or tensions they addressed, and how they transformed the aspects of their professional knowledge and classroom practice.     

Teachers’ role and attitudes concerning ADHD medication: A qualitative analysis

The increased use of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) medication by children has led to growing concerns. In a previous study, we found that many of the teachers that were interviewed about ADHD spontaneously associated ADHD with medication. The present study is a qualitative reanalysis of what precisely these 30 primary school teachers had spontaneously said about medication in our previous semi‐structured interviews on ADHD. Almost all respondents had experience with pupils taking ADHD medication. The majority of spontaneously mentions medication as the treatment of ADHD. Attitudes towards ADHD medication use by pupils are mainly ambivalent, but more positive than negative effects of medication are reported. However, what teachers say about ADHD medication is often not based on sound information; their attitudes tend to be formed by personal experiences rather than founded on professional and scientific sources. We conclude from our analysis that it will be in the interest of reducing the number of children on ADHD medication that teachers have good access to verified and up‐to‐date information on ADHD and medication so that they are better supported in making evidence‐based pedagogical judgments.

日本加强教师教育实践取向的改革动向

通过对日本近年来所进行的教师教育制度及教育课程改革内容的研究,揭示其以实践取向为重心的改革特点。文章追寻战后日本的教师教育改革的轨迹,从教师教育理念的转变,教师资格标准的改革,尤其是教师培养的课程结构变化等几个侧面,分析日本在教师教育方面所进行的改革和存在的问题,解读改革的实践取向,为中国教师教育改革提供参考。     

基于人本原理的高校教师绩效管理探讨

人本原理的基本内涵是尊重人、依靠人、发展人、为了人。高校教师除了具有人力资源的一般特性之外,还具有独特性。这些独特性决定了高校实施教师绩效管理更要体现"以人为本"的理念,凸显教师的主体地位,最大限度地调动其积极性和创造性。     

高职行业企业兼职教师教学管理现状分析

兼职教师队伍建设是高职教育培养高质量技术应用型人才的需要,是高职教育提高教学质量和持续发展的需要。目前。高职院校对外聘教师的研究主要集中在外聘教师的现状、规范化、聘用与管理等方面,对来自行业企业一线的高职行业企业兼职教师的教学管理很少有人进行专门探讨。对这个问题的研究,可以为高职院校校企合作、资源共享模式下的行业企业兼职教师教学管理提供参考。     

中小学教师发展性评价模型初探

教师评价是教育教学活动的重要组成部分,也是长期困扰教育管理的一个难题。现阶段教师评价已由奖惩性评价转向发展性评价,但对发展性教师评价模型研究仍较少。以发展性教师评价理念为指导思想,构建适合中小学发展性教师评价的指标体系,并运用模糊数学及综合评价方法建立的中小学发展性教师模糊综合评价模型,对中小学教师评价工作的开展具有操作性参考意义。     

大学生择业中的创业意识调查分析

对六所具有代表性的高等师范学校学生进行抽样调查,用统计方法以实证方式从学生对择业自主性、创业意识,以及对挑战和挫折的态度情况进行分析,并进一步研究性别、年级、生源地、父母职业、家庭经济状况、学生考试成绩、专业技能等因素的不同对调查结果的差异性,了解高师学生的创业意识情况,为就业指导和教学改革提供了详实的信息和参考依据。     

疏通新建本科院校教学质量提高的瓶颈——以厦门理工学院为例

高等教育从"精英"阶段进入到"大众化"阶段以来,一大批新建本科院校在快速发展的同时,暴露出影响学校持续发展的关键师资问题,尤其是青年教师教学能力和素质水平的高低直接影响到人才培养质量。本文以厦门理工学院为例分析了新建本科院校在快速发展中的教师教学能力培养方面的问题,并有针对性地提出相应的对策。     

新课程背景下农村教师合作文化的建构研究

教师文化是影响教师观念以及教学行为的隐性因素,合作文化是教师专业发展的理想氛围。保持人为合作与自然合作间的合适张力,营造和谐互助的合作氛围;依托农远工程资源开展网络教研,构建区域性合作组织,可以克服农村地区经济与地理等客观条件限制以及以保守性为基本特征的农村传统文化的影响,培育持续推动农村教师专业发展的合作文化。
