The De Kretser case: a note on Sri Lankan writing in English

Abstract

How is the content of a literary canon, or tradition to be configured? What counts as a literary archive? More than 25 years after Edward Said’s Orientalism (1978 Said, W. Edward. 1978. Orientalism, New York: Vintage.  [Google Scholar]), it seems reasonable to assume, that central to such traditions, would be the work of those who live and work in the society that gives rise to it. In this review, such a location of Michele de Kretser’s new novel, The Hamilton Case, is offered, as a caution to metropolitan literary critics who continue to approach Sri Lankan writing in English, as Christopher Columbus approached ‘America’. It is argued that the novel owes much to, and can be read as echoing and elaborating the detective fiction of S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike, who was, also, the fourth Prime Minister of Ceylon (Sri Lanka), 1956–59.     

The Will to Be Unveiled: Sufi Autobiographies in Classical Sufism

While autobiography as a special genre increasingly occupies an important position in modern scholarship, independent Sufi autobiographies still require additional and detailed examination. The current paper seeks to examine two spiritual autobiographies known very well in the history of Sufism: Al-?akīm al-Tirmidhī's Bad? sha?n, and Rūzbihān al-Baqlī's Kashf al-asrār. References to these works in modern research do not go beyond the assumption that they may represent visionary autobiographies, dreams, and mystical, extraordinary experiences and states. In the framework of this paper, we consider it essential to regard both texts as serious indicators of different realities, contexts, and mystic discourses.

在《高等教育系统——学术组织的跨国研究》一书中,伯顿·R·克拉克教授以"知识"为研究的逻辑起点,界定了高等教育系统的组织要素,并以此为基础论证了高等教育系统的整合和变革,建立了高等教育的价值规范。多元化思想是克拉克教授的高等教育变革观,这一思想对我国高等教育的改革和研究具有重要的借鉴意义。     

R290在家用空调中替代R22的实验研究

为探索R290作为制冷剂在家用空调中应用的可行性,在相同型号的空调器中进行了R290与R22的性能对比实验。结果表明:家用空调器不仅可以用R290替代R22,而且还有环保和节能的效果,能效比可提高10.26%～19.53%。

医院数字化药品库房管理应用研究——以江西省某三甲医院为例

本文以建立一个数字化的新型医院药品库房,提高准确率和工作效率为目的。利用二维码技术、移动数据采集技术和无线网络,将传统模式下药品验收、盘点、药品请领等工作环节充分电子化。新模式下药品验收入库、盘点、药品请领完成时间分别减少70%、41%和40%。数字化技术显著提高了录入的效率和准确率,减轻工作人员的工作负荷。     

Do University policies make a difference?

The purpose of this paper is to examine whether the technical universities have been more successful in facilitating the spillover and commercialization of knowledge. We compare the impact of technical and general universities on the performance of knowledge-based firms. Based on a unique data set consisting of publicly held high technology firms, the empirical evidence suggests that, in fact, firm performance is not influenced by the type of university. Technical universities do not have a differential impact on firm performance from more general universities.

近年来,各地政府陆续与高校合作设立一批管理制度现代化、运行机制市场化、用人机制灵活的新型研发机构。通过深入广东、福建和江苏等多个案例,进行扎根理论分析,通过三级编码提取出影响创新成效的核心因素：地方政府创新条件、母体高校创新条件、创新能力、院校合作及双重创新网络特征。通过基于模糊集的定性比较分析,得到导致高创新成效的各种组态构型,研究发现：影响因素中技术创新网络中心性、创新能力和院校合作是必要条件,各类典型构型均通过创新网络发挥影响作用。最后提出政策建议和措施。

基于剩余格的理论与方法给出了MV-代数、R0-代数、格蕴涵代数、FI-代数、BL-代数与剩余格代数的定义的等价形式;进一步指出了各种逻辑代数的剩余格的代数本质.说明了剩余格在逻辑代数系统中的重要地位;分析了MV-代数、R0-代数、格蕴涵代数、FI-代数、BL-代数以及基础R0代数之间的相互关系,为进一步的研究奠定了必要的基础.
