Where do you come from,where do you go? Assessing skills gaps and labour market outcomes for young adults with different immigration backgrounds

Using PISA and PIAAC data from twelve OECD countries, we examine the gap in cognitive skills among immigrants and natives and evaluate how those differences have evolved over time. We also consider how demographics, family background and school quality explain the development of cognitive skills of young people with immigrant backgrounds. The results show, first, that some convergence in skills occurs between second-generation immigrants and natives over time. Second, demographics, family background and school quality variables all contribute to the achievement gaps across different groups.     

Intermittent control strategy for synchronization of fractional-order neural networks via piecewise Lyapunov function method

In this paper, the synchronization problem of fractional-order neural networks (FNNs) with chaotic dynamics is investigated via the intermittent control strategy. Two types of intermittent control methods, the aperiodic one and the periodic one, are applied to achieve the synchronization of the considered systems. Based on the dynamic characteristics of the intermittent control systems, the piecewise Lyapunov function method is employed to derive the synchronization criteria with less conservatism. The results under the aperiodically intermittent control show more generality than the ones via the periodically intermittent control. For each of the aperiodic and periodic cases, a simple controller design process is presented to show how to design the corresponding intermittent controller. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results.     

新疆高中体育与健康选项课调查与研究——以新疆生产建设兵团二中高中学生为例

文章通过对新疆生产建设兵团二中高三学生的抽样调查和数据分析,发现高中体育与健康选项课设置和课程项目等方面存在的问题,有针对性地提出了建议和对策,以期为新疆高中新课程改革实施提供理论与实践依据。     

浅析学衡派“道德教化”思想的产生根源与理论得失

学衡派把中国近代危机归结于道德危机,提倡“道德教化”以挽救民族。“道德教化”思想的产生有其现实基础——功利主义盛行;亦有理论依据——人性二元论。“道德教化”思想呈现出明显的道德理想主义特征,却又点出了自我约束的必要性。     

聋校优秀教师的胜任力特征

为了解聋校优秀教师的胜任力特征,本研究采用行为事件访谈技术,对14名聋校教师进行访谈。通过对叙述的关键事件的分析编码以及对不同绩效教师胜任特征的比较,提取出聋校优秀教师鉴别性胜任特征。研究发现优秀组和普通组教师在11项胜任特征的平均分上存在显著差异,聋校教师鉴别性胜任特征包括以生为本导向、人际沟通能力、专业知识与技能、工作主动积极性、自我激励、责任心、自信心、组织管理能力、自我控制力、成就导向、挑战与创新等。根据研究结果提出的聋校教师鉴别性胜任特征,在聋校教师评优、晋级、奖励等过程中有一定应用价值。     

Perceptions of the school self-evaluation process: the case of Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) has initiated educational change and school improvements. As part of the school reform agenda, ADEC has introduced school self-evaluation-Irtiqaa (SSE-Irtiqaa). This research probes the effectiveness of school administrators (SAs), including principals, vice principals, academic principals, and heads of faculty, and their perceptions of the implications and implementation of SSE-Irtiqaa. The study also intends to improve school quality and help benchmark Abu Dhabi public schools with international academic standards, by tracing challenges faced during the SSE-Irtiqaa process. Public SAs are the participants of this study. This research is an exploratory case study that employed a qualitative research tool. Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted with 14 administrators representing 6 public schools in Abu Dhabi. Findings and recommendations shed light on the areas and paths of development required to facilitate and improve the SSE-Irtiqaa process.     

明代嘉靖以来道教的发展与崂山道教的中兴

中国北方的全真道在金、元时期曾经兴盛一时,至明代开始走向衰落。然而,明中叶嘉靖时期以来,因皇帝的崇尚,道教地位又得到一定程度的提高。在民间,很多高道开宗立派,为道教的繁荣做出了巨大贡献。作为全真道支派的崂山道教,也一度中兴,不仅在民间产生了广泛影响,也引起了朝廷的重视,龙门三大派的创立,即是其兴盛的重要标志。     

体育舞蹈在普通高等学校体育中开展的问题研究

文章从学校体育包括的体育课教学、课外体育活动和学校体育竞赛训练三方面,对体育舞蹈在普通高等学校开展过程中出现的相关问题进行了阐述。这些问题的出现势必制约体育舞蹈项目在高校中的发展,在中国的发展。

对当前"七月派"研究中的若干基础界定的商兑

目前七月派的研究中,还有许多基础性的界定问题存在着较大的模糊和分歧,这直接影响了七月派研究的深入与突破。笔者主张:七月派的流派存在时间不应为1937年到1949年的“十二年”,而应该认定为约半个世纪较为合适;以七月派刊物为代表的七月派的政治格调,也并非等同于单纯政治上的宣传或者文学上的主观主义,它实质上是七月派成员真诚的生活态度和艺术态度的自然展现;此外,七月派成员的判定,也应该采取相对宽松的尺度,如对待艾青等可以采取重叠的态度,对于舒芜,则应尽可能尊重历史的真实予以确认。
