Different systems—Similar challenges? Factors impacting the motivation of German and U.S. teachers to become school leaders

In the United States and Germany, effective school leadership is pivotal to a school's success. Yet in each country, attracting and retaining qualified school leaders is a formidable challenge. This study compares the influence of possible motivators and inhibitors that impact teachers’ decisions to become principals in the two countries. Survey responses of 311 U.S. students in principal preparation programs in the United States and responses of 117 German students in similar programs in Germany indicate that many factors that motivate and inhibit U.S. and German teachers to become school leaders are similar. The results also reveal areas in which the U.S. and Germany may learn from each other regarding motivators and inhibitors to becoming school administrators.     

对普通中学女生800m耐久跑教学效果的探讨

本文根据普通中学女生耐力素质较差的现状,采用教学实验法对800m耐力跑的教学效果进行了初步的研究。结果显示:注重理论教学和科学的练习手段相结合,改革教学与训练方法,加强学生的心理指导,提高自我锻炼能力是提高800m耐久跑教学效果的有效途径。     

闽港澳台中小学学校体育比较研究

运用文献资料法,比较分析法,对闽港澳台的学校体育现状进行比较研究,找出它们之间的区别,其目的是为了它们更好地交流,互相借鉴,实现优势互补,使这些地区的体育事业更加繁荣。结果表明,台湾的学校体育开展的最好,福建、香港次之,澳门的学校体育开展的较差。     

City of London School and Communities that Care: Researching Pupil Experience to Inform Policy and Practice in the Independent Sector

This article is an account of the decision by an independent school to participate in its local Healthy Schools Scheme. One of the factors that influenced this decision was the value the school gained from a pupil survey. The same survey was used to track the impact of the school's Personal, Social and Health Education curriculum and pastoral work on pupils' experience of the school, and academic achievement. In particular, the authors explore the role of survey analysis and consultancy advice in interpreting survey results and developing school practice. The survey contributed to pupil participation in school development. The use of an external consultant as critical friend was perceived as an aid to school reflection and self-review.     

School context,achievement motivation,and academic engagement: A longitudinal study of school engagement using a multidimensional perspective

This longitudinal study adopts a multidimensional perspective to examine the relationships between middle school students' perceptions of the school environment (structure support, provision of choice, teaching for relevance, teacher and peer emotional support), achievement motivation (academic self-concept and subjective task value), and school engagement (behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement). Participants were from an ethnically diverse, urban sample of 1157 adolescents. The findings indicated that student perceptions of distinct aspects of the school environment contributed differentially to the three types of school engagement. In addition, these associations were fully or partially mediated by achievement motivation. Specifically, student perceptions of the school environment influenced their achievement motivation and in turn influenced all three types of school engagement, although in different ways. Moderation effects of gender, ethnicity, and academic ability were also discussed.     

论竞技体育赛事中的意见领袖--兼论河南女排赛区意见领袖的群体特征

文章论述了意见领袖的内涵及其在竞技赛事中的特殊地位。此外,本文还采用文献资料、问卷调查及数理统计等研究方法,对全国排球联赛河南女排赛区意见领袖的群体特征进行了分析。文章认为,河南女排赛区的意见领袖以男性为主;年龄集中在26岁到45岁之间;意见领袖地位的确立受学历、职业和收入的影响不大;意见领袖对于其他观众是否到现场观看比赛以及对现场观众情绪的影响是较大的等。     

加入WTO对中国学校健康教育的影响及对策

加入WTO后对中国学校健康教育将产生正负两方面的影响,利弊兼具,无论从近期来看还是从长远来看,只要做好充分准备,采取确实有效的措施,入世后必将有利于中国学校健康教育的发展。
