Perceived severity of school bullying in elementary schools based on participants’ roles

The purpose of this study was to examine the perceived severity of school bullying among participants with different roles (victims, bullies, bullies/victims and non-involved individuals) and to determine whether interactions between type of bullying and participant roles exist. Two Olweus-like global items and a revised School Bullying Severity Scale for elementary students were used in this study. A total of 1816 valid surveys completed by students in grades 5 and 6 (mean age = 11.5, SD = .84) were collected. Data were analysed using a mixed-model two-way ANOVA. The results revealed a significant main effect of type of bullying. Physical and verbal bullying were perceived as more severe than relational and cyberbullying. A significant two-way interaction between bullying category and participant role was also identified. Bullies did not perceive the four types of victimisation behaviours differently, whereas victims and bullies/victims both rated physical victimisation as most severe and cyber-victimisation as least severe. However, effect sizes were small. Implications for bullying prevention and intervention are discussed.

Abstract

This narrative describes, from a personal perspective, the aging and dying processes of a social worker's parents, and the impact that this process had on her teaching in the area of social work practice and gerontology. The impact of a personal crisis on one's professional role is dramatic. Issues related to social support, the conflict inherent in multiple roles, and the burdens and joys of caretaking are explored in an effort to offer readers the opportunity to understand the complexities of the aging process. Furthermore, the dilemmas inherent in teaching about a topic that has such important and personal implications for teachers and learners are examined.     

论我国政府在劳动关系中的角色定位

本文从经济全球化下对我国劳动关系的影响出发，借鉴美国政府在劳动关系中的角色作用，对我国政府在劳动关系中的角色定位从五个方面进行了探讨：劳动者权利的保护者、劳动规则的监察者、社会对话的促进者和参加者、劳动争议的调解者和裁判者、人力资源的规划者。     

中外优秀男子百米分段速度的研究

为了缩小中外男子百米速度的差距,本文通过文献资料法、影片拍摄法和数理统计法,对男子百米国际优秀水平组、国际水平组、中国组三组每10米段的平均速度进行了分析,通过研究结果对百米加速跑、途中跑和终点跑段落进行了重新划分;认为造成中国男子百米成绩差距的主要原因是:起跑至10 m的平均速度较慢,维持最大速度的能力差.     

新产品开发中供应商的职责研究--西安某天线研究所的实证分析

通过外购产品的三个维度：外来产品的特点、外来产品的成本及生产商与供应商交互的特点,使用聚类分析法将外购部件分为五类、对不同类型的产品部件的供应商的职责进行分析,并讨论了企业在管理方式上应如何区别对待这些不同职责的供应商。     

How do students define their roles and responsibilities in online learning group projects?

The goal of this study was to explore the processes of group role formation in online class settings. Qualitative analysis was used to code chat logs and discussion threads in six undergraduate Family and Consumer Sciences online courses that required online group projects. Four themes related to the process of group role formation emerged: testing the waters, apologies as being nice, tag – you’re it, and struggling to find one’s role. Students created roles of leader, wannabe, spoiler, agreeable enabler, coat‐tails, and supportive worker as the group process evolved over the course of the semester. Results lend support for a balance between allowing students to create and experience roles on their own and faculty assignment of roles. Questions are raised related to faculty approaches toward directing and scaffolding the group process.
