We carried out a wind tunnel test to measure cladding loads for a high-rise building of 295 m in height, which would be located in the business center of Chongqing Municipality, P. R. China. The rigid model was used to determine fluctuating local pressures on the exterior surfaces of the building. The wind tunnel test results show the cr/tical zone of wind pressures on building surfaces in both standalone and interference conditions. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was conducted by using the FLUENT Code to compare with the wind tunnel test results, and the steady three-dimensional turbulent flow with Realizable k-ε as a turbulence model was used. The CFD results are agree with the wind tunnel test results in regards to distributions of wind pressures over a high-rise building's surfaces. 相似文献

Propagation characterization is one of the main building blocks for millimetre wave (MMW) communication. The Gaussian beam has attractive features to become a prospective wave form for millimetre radio communication, especially for the utility inside tunnels. A ray tracing method embedded with spectral features of Gaussian beam is employed to analyze mil- limetre wave propagation in a circle tunnel in this paper. In consideration of geometrical figure of the tunnel, the superposition behaviour of direct and reflective beams is analyzed via simplified approximation of Gaussian beam spectral feature. Then the propagation models are established to derive amplitude, phase, and delay spread of received wave. A typical straight tunnel model is used to simulate the propagation behaviour, where strong multi-path effect with deeply fading of signal intensity and dramatically enhancing of delay spread emerges. For investigation of the spectral feature of the multi-path effect, a reflection loss of 14 dB is taken into consideration at a designated point. To analyze the influences of frequency and transmission distance, the propagation characteristics at three different frequencies of 45 GHz, 65 GHz and 85 GHz are compared with the beam travelling down the tunnel. In addition, three different reflection losses of 14 dB, 20 dB, and 26 dB at the frequency of 65 GHz are also investigated to research the influence of the reflecting coefficient. 相似文献

During the excavation of three-parallel-hole tunnel, the tunnel might collapse due to over-stress as a result of inadequate rock pillar width. Treating the rock overburden depth, rock strength, and rock pillar width as variables, a series of 3D numerical analysis was carried out to examine the effect of each variable on the safety of the tunnel, in particular the rock pillar. A stress strength ratio (SSR) was used to define whether the safety of the rock pillar was exceeded. A simple design chart for the case of three-parallel-hole tunnel, which took into account the influence of overburden depth, rock pillar width, and rock strength, was also proposed for used in the preliminary design stage. 相似文献
