民族文化心理结构与时代背景作用下的浪漫主义--沈从文与田纳西·威廉斯之比较

作为20世纪的浪漫派,沈从文与田纳西·威廉斯,一个擅长诗性小说,一个力塑诗化戏剧,都执著地以诗意的抒情性创作手法在作品中记取美、抒发主观感受,但两者作品中所表现的主题意蕴、揭示的情绪感受等都呈现明显差异.这些差异的背后透露出的是民族文化心理结构和时代背景的不同.对文本隐含的这些信息的分析,可以看出独特的文化心理结构与作家所处的时代背景相结合,会对作家的创作产生不可忽视的作用,从而使具有相通精神气质、相近艺术追求的创作主体结出迥异的创作之果.     

Parent-child interaction as a dynamic contributor to learning and cognitive development in typical and atypical development / Influencia dinámica entre la interacción padre/madre-hijo y el aprendizaje y el desarrollo cognitivo en el desarrollo típico y atípico

Abstract

Converging evidence suggests that parent-infant interaction is one of the most crucial formative influences on child development. In neurodevelopmental disorders, however, different timings and trajectories of development may add a layer of difficulty to the existing challenges of dyadic interaction. The current study therefore set out to compare the specific aspects of dyadic interaction (i.e., responsiveness, directiveness, attentiveness, positive affect, liveliness, mutuality and engagement) between parent-infant dyads with Down syndrome, Williams syndrome and typical development. Video clips of parent-infant play interaction were rated using a validated tool, namely, the Social Interaction Measure for Parents and Infants. Significant effects emerged with respect to infant group on the quality of dyadic interaction, with the multiple comparison tests revealing differences between atypically and typically developing infant-parent dyads. The findings are discussed in relation to the effects of dyadic interaction on the linguistic and socio-cognitive development of atypical children.

为了振兴经济,提高教育质量,应对入学人数减少,在选民的强烈要求下,20世纪八十年代美国田纳西州进行了迄今最具权威性的小班化教育改革实验STAR计划。它耗资1200万,历时4年,实验学生达12,000名,被誉为美国历史上最伟大的教育实验。STAR计划及后续研究表明,小班化教育有利于学生学业成就的提高,尤其对处境不利学生更具优势,并且这种优势具有累积性。     

Advancing the scholarship of teaching and learning: Reflective portfolio inquiry in higher education ‐ a case study of one institution

Abstract

At a time of intense interest in third level teaching in the Ireland, the UK, and the US, this paper describes an effort underway at University College Cork (UCC) to foster a new kind of scholarship, a scholarship of teaching and learning. Although impelled by the announcement in 2001 of an award for Excellence in Teaching at UCC, the project was framed by ideas first outlined by Ernest Boyer (1990) in his provocative book, Scholarship Reconsidered. This paper describes how Boyer's concept of a “scholarship of teaching” was implemented at UCC through a reflective portfolio inquiry process; presents the value and meanings staff say they find in engaging in a portfolio process; and, concludes with a consideration of the sometimes sobering institutional implications of this work. This case study of an institutions experience is one contribution to an evolving genre currently being invented: a new way of capturing and conveying the knowledge of teaching.

LibGuides to the rescue: The cure for the same old boring papers

Devising new ways to collaborate with faculty can be a challenge.
