The Special Collection Fond of the Presidents of Ukraine as an Integrated Informational Resource for Research on the Institution of the Presidency

ABSTRACT

The article describes the functions of the special collection Fond of the Presidents of Ukraine (FPU) within the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, as well as the history of its formation, purpose, activities, and operational features. It emphasizes that the main characteristics of the institution are not only collecting and using various types of documents, but also research and informational-analytical work to popularize them among citizens and authorities. Unlike the US presidential libraries, in Ukraine the conception of the FPU envisages it as an integrated documentary and informational-analytical center to collect heritage materials and study the institution of the presidency as a whole. FPU also provides operative scholarly and informational resources to government officials, to the scholarly community, to the broad student community, and to society in general through the Internet portal of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and social networks.     

Collecting the Revolution: New Directions in Research

ABSTRACT

This essay reports on the latest efforts to assess the collections of materials relating to the Russian Revolution held in the Hoover Institution and the New York Public Library (NYPL). The first section reviews the presentations made by Bertrand Patenaude, Michael Herrick, and Robert Davis during the roundtable “Collecting the Revolution” at the annual meeting of the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies in November 2017. The second presents additional information documenting the development of NYPL’s and Hoover’s collections located in The Wisconsin State Historical Society Archive and the Archive of the Russian State Library.

Mixed control of uncertain jumping time-delay systems

In this paper, we investigate a class of linear continuous-time systems with Markovian jump parameters. An integral part of the system dynamics is a delayed state with time-varying and bounded delays. The jumping parameters are modeled as a continuous-time, discrete-state Markov process. Employing norm-bounded parametric uncertainties and utilizing the second-method of Lyapunov, we examine the problem of designing a mixed V04-4S33N9F-1-41/0?wchp=dGLbVzb-zSkzS" alt="View the MathML source" title="View the MathML source" align="absbottom" border="0" height=17 width="62"/> controller which minimizes a quadratic V04-4S33N9F-1-80/0?wchp=dGLbVzb-zSkzS" alt="View the MathML source" title="View the MathML source" align="absbottom" border="0" height=14 width="25"/> performance measure while satisfying a prescribed V04-4S33N9F-1-97/0?wchp=dGLbVzb-zSkzS" alt="View the MathML source" title="View the MathML source" align="absbottom" border="0" height=14 width="30"/>-norm bound on the closed-loop system. It is established that sufficient conditions for the existence of the mixed V04-4S33N9F-1-9M/0?wchp=dGLbVzb-zSkzS" alt="View the MathML source" title="View the MathML source" align="absbottom" border="0" height=17 width="62"/> controller and the associated performance upper bound could be cast in the form of linear matrix inequalities.     

普罗普故事学思想与维谢洛夫斯基的“历史诗学”

普罗普的故事学理论直接继承发展了维谢洛夫斯基“历史诗学”的某些重要思想 ,二者的学术渊源关系可以从三个方面进行梳理总结 :一、维谢洛夫斯基的“情节诗学”与普罗普的故事结构功能研究 ;二、维谢洛夫斯基的历史起源学研究与普罗普的“民族志主义”;三、方法论 :“归纳诗学”与历史主义     

音像资料的MARC格式研究

根据音像资料的特点及其与CNMARC的分析比较 ,设计了音像资料MARC格式。对于CNMARC不能完全表述的音像资料字段进行修改和补充 ;对音像资料来说 ,CNMARC的冗余字段做必要删除 ;对CNMARC不能表述的音像资料进行字段增加。其格式已在南京电视台的管理信息系统中运用。参考文献 3。     

颠覆式创新研究热点及演化可视化分析

针对Web of Science数据库2001—2018年的研究文献,借助SPSS 22.0、CiteSpace V等软件,通过共词分析、文献共被引聚类、突发文献、突现词、标志性文献等指标开展颠覆式创新的可视化计量分析,揭示20年间颠覆式创新的研究热点及其演化过程,探究其未来发展趋势。研究发现:颠覆式创新的研究热点主要包括颠覆式技术、市场驱动、商业模式等,其中Danneels E、Markides C、Christensen C M等学者的研究成果是领域内的热点文献;颠覆式创新的演进趋势呈现出由21世纪前10年的不连续性创新、颠覆式技术、物联网、电子商务过渡至2010年之后的信息系统、组织绩效、市场定位等,而互联网、事前预测框架、颠覆式创新的测量及应用等,极有可能成为未来颠覆式创新的研究热点。     

Information world mapping: A participatory arts-based elicitation method for information behavior interviews

Participatory, arts-based methods generate rich data with which researchers can explore information behavior in context, and may be particularly apt when engaging with youth or participants with low literacy levels. Information world mapping (IWM) is an innovative and interactive drawing-based interview technique for data elicitation. Initially developed for use in a study of young parents’ health information practices, IWM guides participants in depicting their personal social information worlds, including items, places, and relationships. Maps are then used to facilitate critical incident elicitation of participants' stories about, and interpretations of, their information practices. Within the young parent study, three styles of map were commonly seen: the directional map, the mind map, and the symbolic map. Use of IWM requires time and ethical care, but the method enables researchers to center participants’ own perspectives on information practices, triangulate data obtained via more traditional methods, and enrich understanding of social information worlds.
