Law enforcement officers as investigators and therapists in child sexual abuse: A training model

Law enforcement officers, often the first professionals to come in contact with a victim of child sexual abuse, can either increase or decrease the traumatic impact on the child and the family at the time of disclosure. The model for a training program for police officers in handling cases of child sexual abuse outlined in this paper is divided into three sections. The first part is directed towards theoretical issues involved in this problem, including an explanation of the history and background of sexual abuse of children by adults and of the difference in the dynamics of extra- and intrafamilial sexual abuse. The second part consists of a detailed explanation of different types of sex offenses and of standard physical examinations of sexual abuse victims. Graded slides of physical trauma geared towards wound identification are paired with relaxation exercises. The third section focuses on special considerations when interviewing sexually abused children. The difference between interviewing and interrogation, specific questioning techniques, and the use of videotape is explained. Each part of this training procedure is followed by a question and answer period and small group discussions for the purpose of encouraging disclosure and better understanding of the officers' personal reactions to cases of child sexual abuse.

Reformation of VET and demands on teachers’ subject knowledge – Swedish vocational teachers’ recurrent participation in a national CPD initiative

This study investigates continuing professional development (CPD) of vocational teachers, with a focus on recurrent participation. Vocational teachers need to be competent as teachers and in relation to their vocational teaching subject. Reformation of Swedish vocational education in order to strengthen the working-life connection imposes demands on teachers to have up-to-date knowledge about the vocations related to their vocational subjects. To support the reform, vocational teachers have been offered to participate in a new national CPD initiative targeting their vocational competence. The study concerns participation in this initiative. Drawing on a socio-cultural perspective, vocational teachers’ CPD implies boundary-crossing between school and working-life. Theory concerning adults’ participation in education is considered relevant to understand conditions for such boundary-crossing, and learning, among vocational teachers. The article specifically investigates patterns in vocational teachers’ recurrent participation, which is expected to clarify the factors influencing further participation in professional development. The strongest predictor of recurrent participation, when adjusting for the influence of other factors, is the type of municipality that the teacher comes from, with low populated municipalities having the lowest likelihood of participation. Furthermore, recurrent participation is more likely by participating teachers from adult education or from privately owned schools, and by male teachers.

新制度经济学视角下民办高职院校产教融合建设组织模式探究——以河北省某民办高职院校为例

长期以来,产教融合存在着“壁炉现象”和“集体主义困境”,文章从新制度经济学的视角,运用产权理论和交易费用理论分析问题成因,从组织模式建设层面给出解决问题的办法。让“双主体”变为“单主体”,采用股份形式的集团化组织模式能够提高产教融合的效能,提高资源的有效配置,并通过案例实证进行了路径探究。     

关于高等职业教育特色的几点思考

办出特色是高职教育发展的生命线，高职教育应体现高职的特色，专业设置，师资队伍建设，实训基地建设等方面。     

县级职业教育发展对策——以金塔县为例

当前我国现代职业教育体系建设不断深入,使得职业教育迎来了新的发展机遇并取得了巨大成绩。然而,县级中等职业学校的发展仍然存在诸多问题,如教育观念落后、生源短缺与师资建设不足、课程设置缺少合理性和发展性等,致使中等职业教育发展受限。针对这些问题,本文提出县级职校建设与发展的可行性策略。
