宽温区内W的导热系数随温度变化的关系研究

通过对温度从300K到2500K范围内，作为热发射体常用基底金属W的导热系数的实验结果进行分析，得到了W的导热系数随温度变化的经验公式，为W作为基底的发射材料的热学研究提供了依据。

A small study assessing teacher effectiveness: Does learning last?

Students of six classes who had previously participated in a larger study of teaching styles were tested a year after completion of the course. The purpose of the follow-up was to determine whether or not the prior battery of tests, including a student evaluation of instructor form, the Introductory Psychology Criteria Test, an Attitude Toward Psychology Scale, and a knowledge test, administered in a large group setting independent of those used for grades by instructors, would be positively related to student performance on comparable tests given a year later. The follow-up measures included items from the above measures plus questions regarding experiences and readings related to psychology in the year since the students' introductory course and two brief experiments which the students were to critique. Results indicated that the end of the semester measures of teaching effectiveness in terms of student performance and attitudes were positively related to similar responses obtained a year later.     

Automatic conceptual encoding of printed verbal material: Assessment of population differences

The release from proactive interference task was used to investigate categorical encoding of animal and clothing items with fourth grade low-socioeconomic status black and middle-socioeconomic status white children. The print mode of verbal presentation and an ordered recall requirement were used in order to provide hospitable conditions for the detection of population differences. The results indicated parity in buildup and release from proactive interference for the two populations. The results of this study, consistent with previous estimates of release from proactive interference for these groups (e.g., D. W. Kee & L. Helfend, Journal of Educational Psychology, 1977, 69, 344–348; S. Y. Nakayama & D. W. Kee, Journal of Educational Psychology, 1980, 72, 386–393), indicate that low-socioeconomic status black and middle-socioeconomic white children do not differ in automatic conceptual encoding. Conceptual encoding differences, however, have been detected between these populations when the free recall method has been used. Thus, discussion of the present results includes a consideration of factors which may be responsible for population differences in free recall performance and preliminary evidence on this issue is provided.

Conflicting needs and interests of researchers and service providers in child sexual abuse cases

A child sexual abuse research project was designed which was dependent on referrals from local departments of social services. Significant differences in needs and goals existed between the referral sources and the research team. Modifications of project designs were necessary in the areas of subject recruitment, allocation of project resources, design and measurement, and analysis and reporting. These modifications resulted in a beneficial blend of service and research and produced a useful service in the setting of competent research.
