构建课堂教学管理学的几个理论问题

从管理角度对课堂教学进行探讨的历史由来已久 ,只是未曾提升到学科认识的高度。时代的发展使教师的课堂管理职能愈来愈突现出来 ,因而构建课堂教学管理学渐趋必然。该学科不同于教学论 ,亦有别于学校管理学 ,它将以独立的学术地位和独特的结构体系展示其存在价值     

邓小平社会主义政治文明思想论略

邓小平同志生前没有明确提出政治文明的概念,但在邓小平建设中国特色社会主义理论体系中,却清晰可见其政治文明思想的理论脉络。邓小平对政治文明思想的贡献主要在于抓住政治文明的核心和本质———民主政治,并以社会主义民主政治建设为主线,始终围绕新时期党的中心任务,将其贯彻于社会主义政治改革实践与探索之中,初步形成了社会主义政治文明建设的基本动力、必由之路和立足点等方面理论成果,事实上建构起“什么是社会主义政治文明,怎样建设社会主义政治文明”的理论架构。     

民主政治决策的成本与收益分析

公共选择学派认为政治人的理论预设有助于政治决策领域的分析,如同经济人一样,政治人在政治决策过程中也会不断追求自身利益的最大化。政治收益大于政治成本是政治人的理性预期和根本目标。然而,在民主政治中,政治人的这种预期容易滋生滥用权力的倾向,阻碍民主政治的实现。     

Factors affecting the career progress of academic accountants in Australia: Cross-institutional and gender perspectives

Since the late 1980s, Australian highereducation has undergone significant reforms andpolicy changes based on economic rationalismand modernisation of management. This paperexamines the outcomes of the reform processesbased on the career attributes, status andperceptions of work environment of academicaccountants in Australian universities.Similarities and differences between academicaccountants are explored fromcross-institutional and gender perspectives.The data provide insight into a number ofsystemic inequalities between the older andmore established universities and the neweruniversities. In specific, across-institutional analysis based on fouruniversity types: Sandstones/Redbricks,Gumtrees, Unitechs and New (Marginson 1999)indicates that academic accountants in Newuniversities employ a much lower proportion ofstaff with PhD qualification, a weakerpublication profile, and perceive greaterbarriers for conducting research in terms of ashortage of research mentors, colleagues withresearch experience, and post-graduatestudents. Further, the commitment to flexiblelearning and delivery strategies iscomparatively stronger in Unitechs, and posesadditional demands on accounting academics'overall workload. Perceptions of gender-baseddiscrimination by female academic accountantsare generally stronger than their malecounterparts, particularly, in Newuniversities. These results raise severalissues for academic accountants at both theinstitutional and individual level in terms ofequal employment opportunities, management ofresearch programmes, development of teachingstrategies and individual time management.     

With the eyes of others: an ethnography of an academic office

The author raises questions about ethnographic methodology through exploring the implications of using observations produced by his colleagues about his office as data for his research. This process blurred the boundaries between researcher, method and the object and subject of research. It meets some criteria for ethnography and not others, and does not evidence clear definitional boundaries for any sub-genre such as autoethnography or collaborative authoethnography. Besides raising definitional challenges and the blurring of roles in research, the study also illustrates how the methodology revealed tensions over collegial trust, boundaries and privacy. The author's colleagues exposed aspects of the author's identity that were opaque and even invisible to the author. The author accordingly raises questions about the locus of ethical concern. Thus, issues of roles, definition, trust, boundaries, privacy and method were entwined.

在正义理念的指导下,通过社会主义民主与社会主义法制建设,最终实现社会的和谐发展,这既是政治文明建设的具体方式,也是政治文明建设的价值合理性之所在,体现了工具合理性与价值合理性的统一。具体说来,正义是政治文明建设的价值理念,民主与法制是政治文明建设的价值内容,发展是政治文明建设的价值目标。     

Latent Profiles of Reading and Language and Their Association With Standardized Reading Outcomes in Kindergarten Through Tenth Grade

The objective of this study was to determine the latent profiles of reading and language skills that characterized 7,752 students in kindergarten through tenth grade and to relate the profiles to norm-referenced reading outcomes. Reading and language skills were assessed with a computer-adaptive assessment administered in the middle of the year and reading outcome measures were administered at the end of the year. Three measures of reading comprehension were administered in third through tenth grades to create a latent variable. Latent profile analysis (LPA) was conducted on the reading and language measures and related to reading outcomes in multiple regression analyses. Within-grade multiple regressions were subjected to a linear step-up correction to guard against false-discovery rate. LPA results revealed five to six profiles in the elementary grades and three in the secondary grades that were strongly related to standardized reading outcomes, with average absolute between-profile effect sizes ranging from 1.10 to 2.53. The profiles in the secondary grades followed a high, medium, and low pattern. Profiles in the elementary grades revealed more heterogeneity, suggestive of strategies for differentiating instruction.

Developing identity and agency as an early career academic: lessons from Alice

This paper draws on Lewis Carroll’s character of Alice as a metaphor for interrogating identity construction and agency amongst early career academics, a process which can seem like Alice’s pursuit of the White Rabbit in a strange land. Keeping in mind the effects of neoliberalism on the tertiary sector, we recognise the centrality of personal lives in decision-making about academic careers and the shaping of professional identities. We also foreground how communities of practice not only build agency amongst ECAs but can also be supported by academic developers.
