A Vendor Perspective: What Do All of These Changes Mean for Vendors?

Vendor keynote speaker Caitlin Trasande addressed the practical and applied implications of how government mandates and regulations drive innovations and research information management technologies, while tying in remarks made by Jane Marks, the publisher keynote speaker, and Scott Plutchak, the librarian keynote speaker. She is uniquely positioned to do this as she has been at Digital Science for 5 years, most recently as Head of Research Policy; holds a PhD in Neurobiology; and was very recently appointed Senior Strategy Editor at Nature. Trasande used products developed by Digital Science as examples to demonstrate how all sectors of the scholarly community are finding solutions to help enable compliance with mandates, such as those on data and Open Access. She also provided a futuristic look at how the UK government has begun to ask funded researchers to document the social impact of their research; how Digital Science worked with the UK government, and how likely this is to also happen in the United States.

支持移动IP无线接入点系统的设计与实现

无线接入点是无线接入网络的关键设备,负责对移动主机进行管理以及协调无线网络与有线网络之间的通信。本文通过分析IEEE 802.11.IEEE 802.3等协议和Internet工程部的有关建议,从硬件和软件结构两方面设计并实现了无线接入点系统。同时为了使移动节点在无线局域网中进行快速有效的切换,提出了快速移动切换方案,减少了移动节点内的切换过程的注册时延和数据包的丢失。     

基于以太网的无源光网络(EPON)系统的研究与实现

在分析EPON协议的基础上,对EPON的网络结构、层次模型以及各项关键技术进行了研究,包括多点控制协议、连接初始化过程及冲突解决、测距和时延补偿技术、动态带宽分配技术、突发同步技术、信息搅动技术、前向纠错技术等.采用100M的外围以太网芯片与FPGA相配合的硬件方案,研制了一套带局端设备(OLT)和用户端设备(ONU)的EPON实验系统.测试结果表明,系统性能达到了EPON技术对丢包率和带宽的要求.     

用VB.Net实现Web应用的访问控制

针对Web应用的访问控制一般方法的不足，分析了通过IP范围的限制，用VB．Net在网页代码中实现Web应用的访问控制的思路。并且给出了实现的源代码。     

Bibliometric Analysis of Gold Open Access in India

This study analyzes the current state of gold Open Access (OA) in India based on papers published in the Web of Science indexed journals. It specifically focuses on research output published in OA journals and examines the difference between gold OA and general research output for papers authored by Indian researchers. In order to analyze the Indian contribution of gold OA literature and compares with other countries, Web of Science?-Core Collection was used. There is an increasing trend of contributing research papers in OA journals by Indian researchers. Among the top 20 publishing countries India ranks 10th place in terms of the general research output, but secures 8th place in terms of gold OA papers. However, India's position in terms of share of gold OA publications is relatively higher than other leading countries of the world. Researchers in India mostly prefer to contribute their gold OA papers in Indian journals rather foreign journals and the proportion of gold OA research output in Clinical, Preclinical, Health, Life Sciences and Physicals Sciences is much higher than other disciplines such as Arts &; Humanities and Social Sciences. Since most of the research output in India is published in local journals, the study suggests further analyses of publications which are not published in Web of Science indexed journals.     

A Pop-up Service Point and Repurposed Study Spaces: Maintaining Market Share During a Renovation

Payson Library, the largest library at Pepperdine, primarily serves undergraduate students. It underwent a renovation between spring 2016 and fall 2017. Payson Library was closed during this renovation, and a Library Hub was established as a temporary service point and library information and teaching center on campus. Maintaining market share led to rolling out new services such as RAPID-ILL, repurposing a graduate campus library for increased study spaces, and reliance on a strong library liaison program. Predictably, there was a sharp reduction in patron visits, but there was success in providing reference, instruction, and access to the collections.     

DigitalHub: A Repository Focused on the Future

The DigitalHub scholarly repository was developed and launched at the Galter Health Sciences Library for the Feinberg School of Medicine and the greater Northwestern Medicine community. The repository was designed to allow scholars the ability to create, share, and preserve a range of citable digital outputs. This article traces the evolution of DigitalHub’s development and engagement activities, highlighting project challenges, innovations, success stories, and the team-based approach that was employed to successfully achieve project goals.
