Supporting academic literacies: university teachers in collaboration for change

This article deals with an action research project, where a group of university teachers from different disciplines reflected on and gradually extended their knowledge about how to support students’ academic literacy development. The project was conducted within a ‘research circle’ [Bergman, L. 2014. “The Research Circle as a Resource in Challenging Academics’ Perceptions of How to Support Students’ Literacy Development in Higher Education.” Canadian Journal of Action Research 15 (2): 3–20], in which the teachers engaged in a continuous dialogue where experience-based and research-based knowledge could meet. The two-year long process was divided into three phases: exchange of experiences and knowledge, small-scale empirical investigations in the participants own teaching, and presentations of the outcome of the research circle work. The main focus in this article is the second phase. The choice of small-scale-investigations, and how they were discussed and developed in the collaborative work, will be foregrounded as well as the changes that occurred in the participants’ teaching practices and how the participants value the outcome of the research circle work.

A methodological framework for practice-based research in networked learning

This paper presents a methodological frameworkfor practice-based research in the field ofnetworked learning, based on the author'sapproach to carrying out a case studyevaluation of a networked professionaldevelopment initiative for information servicesstaff in higher education. The theoreticalcase for the framework is made with referenceto principles associated with constructivistprogramme evaluation as well as withinterpretivist and critical traditions inaction research. The purposes and politics ofthis approach, and the question of validationcriteria for claims about its effectiveness forbuilding theory, as well as for evaluating andimproving practice, are discussed. Issues todo with using computer-mediated communicationas a medium for participatory research are alsoraised. An overview is given of the way thisresearch approach was implemented in practice(including the use of a combination of on-lineand face-to-face data collection methods) andsome methodological issues that arose in thecourse of carrying it out are highlighted. Thepaper concludes by suggesting that as amethodology for evaluating, theorising andimproving practice, `networked action research'also offers an approach to pedagogical design,most obviously in the context of networkedprofessional development for educators andlearner support staff.

改造学生的“学习方式”是当代课程改革的焦点。“研究性学习”是一种“问题解决学习”,是一种跨学科的综合实践活动 ,是一种基于学习资源的开放式学习。“课程行动研究”是保障“研究性学习”得以实施、教师专业能力得以提升的基本策略。     

应用行动研究方法构建形成性考核模式

形成性考核是远程开放教育教学过程与教学质量检查、监控的一项重要环节。本文应用行动研究新兴的研究范式,以《公司财务》和《宏微观经济学》的教学实践作为研究起点,把形成性考核的内涵作为研究对象,以准确评价形成性考核成绩作为研究目的,通过“研究--实践--反思”构建了形成性考核模式;并应用“柯尔莫哥洛夫--斯米尔诺夫”双样本检验,对形成性考核成绩和期末考试成绩经验分布函数,进行非参数假设检验,说明形成性考核模式能准确评价一个班级学员的能力和学力水平。     

Ethical dilemmas of youth participatory action research in a democratic setting

ABSTRACT

This article discusses ethical issues involved in facilitating the research of young people on controversial issues. This article considers the potential ethical dilemmas of teachers facilitating a particular form of activism – youth participatory action research (YPAR). We consider how teachers foster school-wide conversations on difficult issues and support students who wish to take a critical stand on issues of race, class and gender. The article also discusses how to scaffold the exploration of topics that require emotional maturity and might lead to shifts in beliefs that run counter to the values of one’s family.

检察机关提起民事诉讼制度在我国现行法律中未明确规定。检察机关提起民事诉讼有一定的理论和现实依据,但实践中又具有随意性。因此,需要精巧的程序制度设计保障该制度的健康发展。但在目前的立法背景下,检察机关暂不宜提起民事诉讼。
