Convictions and skepticisms of an Indian feminist scholar: an interview with Tejaswini Niranjana

In this interview with the Guangzhou-based newspaper Southern Metropolis Daily, conducted in December 2010 during her participation of the ‘West Heavens: India-China Summit on Social Thought’, Tejaswini Niranjana questions accepted notions about women and development, explains the reasons for finding alternative reference points in each other for non-Western societies, which resulted in the historical emergence of Cultural Studies in India, and speaks for the need for substantive mutual cultural exposure between India and China.

重庆三峡库区城镇分布呈现出的断带性和单体性、城镇协作的松散性、空间布局的非均衡性、发展水平的非平衡性、职能类型结构的单一性、产业组合的同构性、城镇工业空洞化等特点，严重阻滞着库区社会经济的发展。为此，必须建立三个“金三角”城镇级次群落体系，构建重庆三峡库区城镇带，以此为支撑，培育以奉节、万州、涪陵、长寿为核心的特色产业集群，组建三峡库区城镇新型产业带。     

A Framework to Understand Students' Differentiation Between Heat Energy and Temperature and its Educational Implications

The main objective of this article is to investigate whether students' understanding of heat energy and temperature forms part of a 'hard-core' (Lakatos, 1970) of epistemological beliefs and the degree to which it affects their ability to learn thermodynamics in the classroom. Results obtained based on science major freshman students (n = 99) show that even after having responded correctly in one context that approximates the kinetic view of heat energy students fall back on the caloric theory of heat in a different context. It was also found that there is little relationship between the ability to differentiate between heat energy and temperature and performance on a problem of thermodynamics. Students in this study had been exposed to the kinetic theory in the previous semester and yet some of them had no problem in consistently using the caloric theory, while others switched between the two conceptualizations. It is concluded that an epistemological belief in the caloric theory of heat forms part of the hard-core of students' framework and that the conceptual shift to the kinetic theory requires radical restructuring (Chinn & Brewer, 1993). The question we need to ask is not only what are the students' prior epistemological beliefs, but as to what are the conditions under which the hard-core could crumble. A framework that could facilitate conceptual shifts is formulated.     

Global Citizenship and Global Universities. The Age of Global Interdependence and Cosmopolitanism

This article focuses on the role of global universities and globalisations in an age of global interdependence and cosmopolitanism. Competing agendas that result from actions and reactions to multiple globalisations are considered in relation to global citizenship education. These agendas are crucial in understanding dilemmas of the local and the global in relation to education. Key emerging agendas are highlighted, including those of the hyperglobalisers, skeptics and transformationists. Three themes are central for this conversation, namely a) how multiple globalisations are impacting global life and academics, b) how networks have become privileged sites for global education, and c) the implications of globalisation and networks for global citizenship and global universities.     

Crossed looks: globalisations and curriculum in Guinea-Bissau

This article focuses on education in Guinea-Bissau in the context of globalisations, examining the concept of globalisation and its relation to education and the curriculum. It focuses on the relatively neglected area of national education policies in Guinea-Bissau, comparing differences and common points of interference/influence of multilateral (international and regional) and bilateral organisations in these policies. Data collection was based on content analysis of a corpus of documents – the Education Act, the document of Portuguese Cooperation Programme, the Education Sector Policy Paper, the Education for All National Plan of Action, and Policy n. 3/2007/CM/UEMOA – and field notes collected from 2009 to 2012. The article argues that there is a tendency for the homogenisation of curriculum policies, at least at the macro-level, due to the different types of pressures coming from international/regional organisations.     

行政审判中参照规章的新发展——以最高人民法院第5号指导案例为分析对象

《行政诉讼法》规定人民法院在审理行政案件时参照规章。司法实践中,人民法院对规章的参照适用经历了发展演变的过程。最高人民法院发布的第5号指导案例对违反上位法规定的规章"不予适用",适当、充分地行使了法律赋予人民法院对规章的选择适用权。人民法院在行政审判中参照规章时,对合法有效的规章有权作为裁判依据,予以适用;对违反上位法规定的规章有权拒绝作为裁判依据,不予适用。     

Altmetrics对图书馆服务的影响研究

文章介绍了Altmetrics的起源、特征、典型应用平台,重点阐述了Altmetrics为图书馆在馆藏建设、读者个性化信息、管理决策方面带来的机遇,提出了图书馆在Altmetrics时代通过技术环境、资源建设、情报服务、用户体验4个方面提升服务的策略,最后对Altmetrics的未来应用做出展望。     

从职业倦怠到职业认同:图情人才工作心理研究的范式选择

在研究图情人才职业倦怠现象的过程中,需要重新审视该范式的西方文化背景及实证研究方法的特定情境,对其研究假设作诸多修正,使其成为探讨我国图情人才队伍建设和图情管理体制创新的重要抓手。在文献分析的基础上,结合相关的问卷调查结果,对图情人才的职业心理进行了分析,并提出基于图情人才三重性存在的职业认同,适度修正研究假设的命题及思路。     

当代美国体育教学评价的改革

运用文献资料法对20世纪80年代以来美国基础教育改革中引起广泛关注的替代性评价的性质、特征及其改革的背景和理论基础进行了分析，同时，探讨了替代性评价在体育教学评价改革中的意义以及当前所面临的挑战．指出替代性评价对我国体育教学评价改革具有十分重要的借鉴意义。
