医学实验动物学创新性课堂教学与第二课堂的探索

随着生命科学和医学的发展,仅仅依靠课堂教学培养学生综合素质,效果是有限的,难以满足医学生实验技能和综合素质培养的需要。开展医学院校学生实验动物学创新性教学和第二课堂教学是医学高校创新教育的重要内容,也是培养医学生医学思维模式,提高学生综合素质和创新能力的重要途径。通过初步的探索教学,我们对开设创新性课堂与第二课堂的教师人才培养、教学方法和教学内容改革上有了自己的认识。     

日语谚语中比喻修辞的翻译

指出日语谚语中,比喻修辞方法使用的频率很高,日语谚语带有浓厚的民族、区域、历史、文化色彩,在汉译的过程中,要兼顾或再现谚语本身的文化寓意和比喻修辞的特殊性。对使用比喻修辞的日本谚语汉译,应把文化背景、语言习惯等因素进行综合分析和处理。

畜禽舍是畜禽生长和活动的场所。在养殖畜禽的过程中,畜禽的生活环境对畜禽的健康生长和生产潜力都有着重要的影响。与发达国家相比,我国在畜禽养殖行业的生产水平还是比较落后的,而畜禽舍的环境问题就是导致这一现象的主要原因。基于PIC单片机的畜禽舍环境控制系统的硬件实现是可以有效改善这一问题的。     

The Differences of Cultural Connotation between English and Chinese Animal Words

Animals are friends of human beings.Both the Chinese and English language contains a lot of words denoting animals.Along with the development of society,animal words gradually got their connotations in both languages.However,because of different cultural backgrounds of English and Chinese,the implied meanings of the same animal are possibly different.The article starts with the discussion on four causes of special connotation of animal words.Afterwards,the paper makes comparison between the cultural connotation of English and Chinese animal words.It mainly dwells on four types to explore the differences:similarity,part similarity,distinction and vacancy in equivalence.A large amount of examples have been employed to show the differences of connotation between English and Chinese animal words.Hopefully,the barriers in intercultural communication can be removed and mutual-understanding between the cultures will be achieved accordingly.

不同民族,相同动物或不同动物,它们的隐喻含义都在某一种程度上存在差异,而这种差异造成的大部分原因在于两个不同民族不同的历史文化背景。隐喻的修辞手法被广泛应用于动物词汇中,然而由于文化差异,动物的隐喻也存在差异。该文结合隐喻的相关概念,从古文化角度,分析了一些典型动物隐喻的区别,以更好地理解英汉差异;了解西方文化,学有所用。

It is of great importance to learn the culture of a nation if we want to learn their language well.Some animals have common meanings in Chinese and English cultures,while some contain different cultural connotations.

Farmers may appreciate the increased productivity of factory farming, but the view of animals as production units and the sometimes questionable treatment of animals in some factory farms raises ethical concerns for those interested in animal welfare issues. Genetic engineering, of both plants and animals, is a controversial topic.     

Relating Gestures and Speech: An analysis of students' conceptions about geological sedimentary processes

Advances in cognitive science and educational research indicate that a significant part of spatial cognition is facilitated by gesture (e.g. giving directions, or describing objects or landscape features). We aligned the analysis of gestures with conceptual metaphor theory to probe the use of mental image schemas as a source of concept representations for students' learning of sedimentary processes. A hermeneutical approach enabled us to access student meaning-making from students' verbal reports and gestures about four core geological ideas that involve sea-level change and sediment deposition. The study included 25 students from three US universities. Participants were enrolled in upper-level undergraduate courses on sedimentology and stratigraphy. We used semi-structured interviews for data collection. Our gesture coding focused on three types of gestures: deictic, iconic, and metaphoric. From analysis of video recorded interviews, we interpreted image schemas in gestures and verbal reports. Results suggested that students attempted to make more iconic and metaphoric gestures when dealing with abstract concepts, such as relative sea level, base level, and unconformities. Based on the analysis of gestures that recreated certain patterns including time, strata, and sea-level fluctuations, we reasoned that proper representational gestures may indicate completeness in conceptual understanding. We concluded that students rely on image schemas to develop ideas about complex sedimentary systems. Our research also supports the hypothesis that gestures provide an independent and non-linguistic indicator of image schemas that shape conceptual development, and also play a role in the construction and communication of complex spatial and temporal concepts in the geosciences.
