Fostering Instructor Knowledge of Student Thinking Using The Flipped Classroom

Abstract

In this article, we share a model of flipped instruction that allowed us to gain a window into our students’ mathematical thinking. We depict how that increased awareness of student thinking shaped our mathematics instruction in productive ways. Drawing on our experiences with students in our own classrooms, we show how flipped instruction can be used to design experiences that help students make sense of mathematics during class sessions.     

社交网络舆情下的二元信息竞争SH2IR模型及仿真研究

[研究目的]网络舆情中信息间的竞争传播更符合社交网络的真实情境,研究舆情事件中多元信息竞争传播的演化机制有助于政府和媒体有效监控舆情、引导舆论。[研究方法]结合舆情事件多信息传播特点,加入信息犹豫者和信息接触率,构建二元信息竞争的SH2IR模型,仿真同步和异步情景下二元信息的竞争演化过程。[研究结论]研究表明,在同步传播模式下,单独增强信息接触率、传播转化率、犹豫转化率以及置换率,都可以扩大信息的传播;在异步传播模式下,信息发布的越早,传播范围越广,但单独增强传播参数对传播效果影响较弱,同时提高信息的传播参数时传播行为明显加强。     

无线网在现代组网中的应用方案

无线局域网组网技术的发展和逐步成熟,推动了其在应用领域的普及,特别是在家庭组网中的应用。通过对无线局域网的发展、连接及标准ATM技术的应用探究,使无线局域网得到完善,进一步分析其优缺点和发展前景,为实际的应用提供一种理论指导。     

Quality Talk and dialogic teaching—an examination of a professional development programme on secondary teachers’ facilitation of student talk

This study used the Quality Talk and dialogic teaching approach with a group of secondary school teachers (N = 7) to train their facilitation of dialogical discussions by small groups of students. The study used video and audio analysis to assess the teachers’ observable behaviours during these discussions, before and after professional development; for example, types of Quality Talk questions asked. The study also used face‐to‐face interviews, held before and after the professional development, to investigate the teachers’ beliefs about learning through discussion. Results show that although the number of high‐quality questions from the teachers did not increase, the quality of the questions students asked of each other did improve, and resulted in extended periods of dialogic spells. Positive developments were found for teachers’ beliefs about the use of dialogue to foster deeper thinking with their secondary school‐aged students.

对导致运动员竞技子能力非同步性发展的原因进行了分析后认为:运动员竞技子能力的非同步性发展,是遗传效应、训练效应、比赛效应和生活效应综合影响的结果;从因果关系上看,遗传效应是内因,训练效应、比赛效应和生活效应是外因。同时对影响运动员竞技子能力非同步性发展的因素进行了重要程度的排序。     

异步电机定子绕组状态监测与故障诊断方法

定子绕组故障是异步电动机在运行过程中出现的主要故障,为了保障电动机的安全运行,对异步电动机进行状态监测与早期诊断是很有必要的。关于异步电动机定子绕组状态监测与故障诊断的方法,主要分为两类：第一类是基于模型的故障识别方法;第二类是基于信号检测的诊断方法。     

SAPSO-BP算法在异步电机故障诊断中的应用

为了提高异步电机故障诊断的准确性,引入了一种基于模拟退火粒子群算法优化BP神经网络(SAPSO-BP算法)的故障诊断方法.根据电机转子振动频谱中所提取的特征参数与故障类型之间的关系数据,利用模拟退火粒子群算法来优化BP神经网络的权、阈值参数,再由优化好的BP网络进行故障诊断.实验结果表明,该方法具有较好的故障模式的识别效果,明显提高了异步电机故障诊断的准确性.     

A retrospective look at replacing face‐to‐face embryology instruction with online lectures in a human anatomy course

Embryology is integrated into the Clinically Oriented Anatomy course at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. Before 2008, the same instructor presented embryology in 13 face‐to‐face lectures distributed by organ systems throughout the course. For the 2008 and 2009 offerings of the course, a hybrid embryology instruction model with four face‐to‐face classes that supplemented online recorded lectures was used. One instructor delivered the lectures face‐to‐face in 2007 and by online videos in 2008–2009, while a second instructor provided the supplemental face‐to‐face classes in 2008–2009. The same embryology learning objectives and selected examination questions were used for each of the three years. This allowed direct comparison of learning outcomes, as measured by examination performance, for students receiving only face‐to‐face embryology instruction versus the hybrid approach. Comparison of the face‐to‐face lectures to the hybrid approach showed no difference in overall class performance on embryology questions that were used all three years. Moreover, there was no differential effect of the delivery method on the examination scores for bottom quartile students. Students completed an end‐of‐course survey to assess their opinions. They rated the two forms of delivery similarly on a six‐point Likert scale and reported that face‐to‐face lectures have the advantage of allowing them to interact with the instructor, whereas online lectures could be paused, replayed, and viewed at any time. These experiences suggest the need for well‐designed prospective studies to determine whether online lectures can be used to enhance the efficacy of embryology instruction. 《周氏冥通记》是研究六朝道教的重要资料,具有很高的文献价值。2010年1月齐鲁书社出版的日本《〈周氏冥通记〉研究(译注篇)》(麦谷邦夫、吉川忠夫编,刘雄峰译),综合运用多学科知识,对《周氏冥通记》作出了精确细致的点校与注解,是目前《周氏冥通记》最好的注本。然因该书颇具六朝口语的特色,在某些点校翻译方面尚有进一步完善的地方。
