Fresh thinking about academic development: authentic,transformative, disruptive?

We highlight three ways of conceptualising and enacting academic development: firstly as authentic, practice-based activity, secondly in terms of a new transformative paradigm for academic development units (ADUs), and thirdly as a space for disruption. We illustrate these conceptualisations through our investigation of the practice of internal secondment of faculty to ADUs. We report our findings from a sector-wide survey of Scottish higher education institutions and a series of in-depth interviews with secondees and their managers in two Scottish universities. We recommend further investigations to identify new ways of enacting authentic, practice-based, transformative, and disruptive academic development.     

Assessment in higher education in the professions: action research as an authentic assessment task

The argument of this article is that assessment in higher education in the professions can benefit from quality assessment tasks linked to professional practice. Such an assessment task would need to be authentic requiring considerable intellectual skill as well as attending to the realities of professional demands. The idea of authentic assessment is developed by using five of Boud et al.'s propositions in higher educational assessment. This idea is illustrated by the use of action research in a teaching internship, that is, data driven learning in the workplace which also serves as an assessment task in the final year of a professional Bachelor degree. Some difficulties and some illustrative, positive student reactions are presented.

针对国内高职院校教育游戏开发匮乏的现状,提出了以RPG为载体的任务驱动式教育游戏系统——《计算机信息技术基础》教育游戏的设计方案。系统从课程教学的内容和目标出发,实现在虚拟现实环境中对不同基础的学生进行有针对性的优化学习。     

分析专业课业式实验教学改革与实践

探讨在分析专业工业分析课程和有机分析课程课业式实践教学改革中,克服传统教学模式"填鸭"式、"灌输"式教学的弊端,采取开放式、启发式教学,处理好基础与专业知识,理论与实践的关系。在实践教学环节中,以能力培养为目标,做到"以学生为中心",让学生解决实践中所遇到的问题。     

基于校企合作人才培养模式的《网络数据库技术》课程改革

研究了如何以工作过程为导向和任务驱动为核心的思想来进行“数据库技术”课程的改革,以及在新的教学模式下课程的实施方案,从而达到明确学生学习目标,调动学生积极性,培养学生工作能力和职业素养的目标。     

Improving teachers’ assessment literacy through professional development

This study examined the effects of professional development on teachers’ assessment literacy between two groups of teachers: (1) teachers who were involved in ongoing and sustained professional development in designing authentic classroom assessment and rubrics; and (2) teachers who were given only short-term, one-shot professional development workshops in authentic assessment. The participating teachers taught Year 4 and 5 English, science, and mathematics. The findings showed that the assessment literacy of teachers who were involved in ongoing, sustained professional development had increased significantly during the second year of study. These teachers had also gained a better understanding of authentic assessment.     

基于任务的听力教学设计研究

本文尝试从交际语言能力的界定、/语言使用任务及语言材料真实性,三个层面来探讨基于任务的语言教学理论;并以此为理论依据,尝试进行基于任务的听力教学设计研究,即从语言学习者需求出发,将雅思听力材料引入大学英语听力教学,选择合适的听力任务,进行任务教学,以期达到培养学习者英语交际能力的目标。     

任务型语言教学下的ESP课程自主学习

本文从任务型语言教学理论入手,分析TBLT对于促进学习者自主学习的优势,提出在中国的ESP教学中运用任务来实现对学习者自主学习能力的培养与提高,并对可能存在的问题进行了探讨。     

遗传算法在云任务调度中的应用

云任务调度的目的是快速找到全局最优解.将多个云任务合理的分配给有限的资源上,使得整个任务的完成时间较短.文中主要介绍了遗传算法在云任务调度中的应用.通过仿真实验分析了采用精英策略的遗传算法和没有采用精英策略的遗传算法在云任务调度中的不同.     

基于“项目引领、任务驱动”的“磁法勘探”教学模式研究

为了提高学生的兴趣,增强学生对知识的理解能力,培养学生的动手能力,探索一条适合磁法勘探工学结合、理实一体教学模式的道路。我们对＂磁法勘探＂课程教学模式进行大幅度的改革,将整门课程划分为8大项目33大任务,将学生引领到任务中来,在提高学生的动手能力的同时也加强了学生理论联系实际的能力、分析解决问题的能力,符合高等职业教育的理念。
