Text Messaging the Reference Desk: Using Upside Wireless' SMS-to-Email to Extend Reference Service

The author discusses “Text a Librarian,” a short message service-to-email service provided via Upside Wireless, Inc., a Canadian telecommunications provider. Any user of the University of Virginia Library who has a cell phone and text messaging capability can send a text message to a local phone number provided by Upside Wireless. Upside's “virtual SMS channel,” which forwards the message to the Library's reference e-mail account. Librarians then respond to the query with an e-mail message that the user receives as a text message on his or her cell phone. This article describes the process by which a library developed the idea for the service and decided to contract with Upside, as well as staffing for the service and the challenges, successes, and possible new directions. A brief survey of the SMS reference landscape is included.     

巴戟天多糖对体外培养兔软骨细胞增殖的影响

如何能够促进软骨细胞的增殖是研究防治骨性关节炎(Osteoarthritis,OA)的重大课题.采用体外培养兔软骨细胞的方法,在培养过程中加入巴戟天多糖;实验结果证实巴戟天多糖能够促进软骨细胞增殖,以1.25 μg/mL的浓度为最优,巴戟天多糖促进软骨细胞的增殖作用可能与其使细胞增殖核抗原(PCNA)的表达增加有关.     

Effect of vitamin E on protein bound carbhohydrate complexes in radiation treated oral squamous cell carcinoma patients

Serum glycoproteins were evaluated in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients treated with radiotherapy and also the effect of vitamin E was studied. Cell surface glycoconjugates are important parameters in the detection of malignancy. Thus, the objective of the present study is to evaluate the efficacy of vitamin E on glycoproteins in oral cavity cancer patients treated with radiotherapy. The study includes 26 age and sex matched normal healthy individuals and 26 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of oral cavity. These patients were divided into two groups, one for radiotherapy alone (at a dosage of 6000 cGy in five fractions per week for a period of six weeks) and the other for radiotherapy plus vitamin E supplementation (at a dosage of 400 IU / day of vitamin E) for the entire period of radiotherapy. Levels of hexose, hexosamine, fucose and sialic acid were increased in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients and a significant decrease was observed in radiation treated patients when compared to control. The levels of glycoconjugates were significantly decreased in radiation treated patients supplemented with vitamin E. This measurement may be useful in assessing disease progression and identifying patients resistant to therapy and a possible role of vitamin E on reduction in glycoconjugate levels of radiation treated oral squamous cell carcinoma patients.

大强度训练对自行车运动员淋巴细胞亚群和NK细胞活性的影响

本文观察了大强度训练对自行车运动员外周血T淋巴细胞亚群和NK细胞活性的影响。实验结果发现,经过四周大强度训练,CD8 细胞比例显著上升(P<0.05),CD4 /CD8 比值显著下降(P<0.05),NK细胞活性显著下降(P<0.05)。提示大强度训练造成机体免疫功能下降与抑制性T淋巴细胞过度激活,继发造成免疫平衡失常和NK细胞活性下降有关。     

心房肌细胞的特殊颗粒形态和机能的研究

简要综述了心房肌细胞的特殊颗粒形态学特征、分布与其它细胞器的关系，特殊颗粒的组织化学、心房肽类物质的提纯和作用以及运动对心钠素影响等问题，从而对心脏在循环系统中的作用带来某些新的认识，对于心脏功能传统概念将会带来某些修正和补充。     

互联网+“智能手机+微信”模式在公体健美操教学中的应用研究

为加快实现《国家中长期教育改革和发展规划纲要(2010-2020年)》中提出的基本实现教育现代化,建成学习型社会,本文采用文献资料、教学实验、逻辑分析、问卷调查和数理统计等研究方法,探讨互联网+时代“智能手机+微信”教学模式在高校公体健美操选项课中的应用,以期为高校公体健美操选项课教学模式改革提供依据。研究结果显示:新模式下,学生的健美操总体成绩明显优于传统教学模式;学习态度变得更积极,从过去单纯被动学习到主动去发现和自我纠正的转变;内容更为直观清晰、人性化、多样化;学生对新模式教学效果持认可态度,认为新模式更优越、更灵活,更能激发同学们学习的积极性;并就个人看法对教学实施过程中存在不足,提出宝贵建议。互联网+“智能手机+微信”教学模式适用于高校公体健美操选项课,此模式有利于提高学生自主学习能力,满足学生个性化发展。

目前常用的基于Java的手机软件开发技术,兼容性好,普及度高,但在实现程序界面方面存在效果差、效率低的缺陷。针对这一缺陷,提出了一种基于第三方JavaME GUI框架LWUIT进行手机软件界面设计的方法,系统阐述了应用该开发框架进行手机软件开发的基本方法与过程,分析了该方法的优点与不足,并有针对性地指出了解决问题的具体思路。

以深圳＂山寨机＂为例,分析了山寨机出现的经济原因、政策原因、技术原因、价格原因、产业链原因、产品推出速度原因、外观设计原因、功能原因、利益链重构原因,指出了＂山寨化＂的深层次根源在于中国产业的＂三元化＂,分析了＂山寨机＂面临的市场困境、价格困境、技术困境、信任困境、品牌困境、生存困境,并在此基础上提出山寨厂商、行业协会、政府部门应各负其责、营造更好产业成长环境的未来出路。
