从样本选取、类另9建构和编码、数据解释三个方面剖析了两篇关于运用内容分析法分析美国媒体对中国SARS事件报道的研究论。认为要保证内容分析研究的信度和效度,样本的选取应该具有代表性;研究类另4建构应该抓住问题实质,归类必须详尽并且互斥;对数据的解释需要结合恰当的理论框架并置入历史脉背景之中。

不同认知水平的解答编码对数学公式学习的影响研究

图形编码、示意编码和标签编码对公式学习具有不同的影响.高认知水平的图形编码在公式以情景方式呈现时,作业成绩最优;无论是否图形提示,在7天之后的回忆实验中,图形编码的回忆成绩最优,且图形编码对于图形提示极为敏感.     

Power auction and allocation for network-coded cooperation

Optimal resource allocation is critical to the efficiency of cooperative communications. In this paper, we develop an auction-based power allocation mechanism for network-coded cooperation in wireless networks, in which the sources compete for the relay power for maximum utility, while the relay node assigns the resource in accordance with the bids from the sources. Moreover, to improve the resource utilization, the relay node is allowed to perform network coding across the received information for the same destination. Finally, numerical results validate the performance of the proposed algorithm, and show that there exists a tradeoff between the system outage probability and the power consumed at the relay node.

视觉和语音加工难度对汉语识字困难儿童形音特征捆绑的影响

The Right Book on the Right Shelf: Missing and Misshelved Books—How Bar Code Scanning Inventories Can Solve the Patrons’ Dilemma

After more than 30 years of failing to conduct a comprehensive inventory of the book collection at a large liberal arts library, our patrons complained that they could not find one in five books. A study of the problem indicated that in fact 20% of our books were either missing or misshelved. This article discusses the investigation of the problem and the impact after five years of conducting an annual inventory by using handheld devices to gather bar codes and interface these with our catalog records to find the missing and misshelved books. The missing book rate dropped from 5.6% to less than one half percent. The misshelved book rate dropped steadily every year from 11.6% to 3.1%. The number of books reported as missing by our patrons dropped 90%.     

Academic Library Web Sites and Distance Education

Abstract

This study focuses on college and university library services provided to distance education students and a content analysis of library Web sites. The Web sites chosen were categorized by the amount of distance education the institution offered to students. Results indicated that the size of the institution had the strongest correlation to library services offered to distance education students (Spearman's rho of .618), not the degree to which distance education is provided (rho of .076). This study suggests that just because an institution offers distance learning courses does not necessarily mean that its library offers a full range of Web services to meet distance learner needs, and it brings into question whether some institutions have been too quick to provide distance education services without properly addressing student library needs.
