Using 21st century video prompting technology to facilitate the independence of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Barriers in acquiring, maintaining, and generalizing daily living skills are factors that contribute to discrepancies in independent living outcomes among transition age youth and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Acquisition and generalization of daily living skills empowers transition age youth and young adults with disabilities to meet their own needs with minimal reliance on others. Infusing the use of technology as a self‐prompting device facilitates the acquisition of tasks that may not be otherwise attainable. In this study, self‐directed video prompting on an iPad with the My Pictures Talk application was used to help young adults with IDD in a postsecondary program acquire daily living skills in a single subject, multiple probe across subjects design. The effects of the intervention on generalization to tasks that were one, two, and three components different were also assessed. Results demonstrated a functional relationship between the introduction of the intervention and improvement in skill performance.

英语思维建构学习方案的哲学思考

本文论述了思维建构的内涵,影响非英语母语学习者英语思维的因素以及英语思维建构的策略。笔者指出：在目前英语课堂教学中,教师要挖掘思维训练素材,发展多维思维品质,创建＂思维建构型＂课堂教学。教师在开始教学生学习英语时,就要考虑到学生已有的汉语语言思维体系会影响英语学习,学生是在根深蒂固的汉语语言系统上一步一步开始建构英语语言系统。     

高师体育专业部分项目分级分类教学法的探讨

通过多年的体育教学实践，根据部分体育术科内容的共性特点，对术科技术进行归类。其中主要是根据不同的运动形式，如：难易程度、动力学、解剖学、错误动作、接触与非接触等分类，改变传统分段教学中存在的弊端，为体育教学改革注入新的活力。     

英语修辞格中超常关系结构与语义异常的认知分析

英语修辞中有多种辞格在其关系结构中违背“常规搭配原则”,即词语语义协调原则;他们虽“脱离语言常规”构成特殊搭配,但偏离常规引起“突出”,“变异”带来了创新。在特殊的语境之下,这些语义异常在语言认知、话语策略、修辞效果和哲学基础上都有充分的理据并能得到合理的解释。     

A Randomized Controlled Trial of a Modularized,Computer-Assisted,Self-Paced Approach to Developmental Math

Abstract

Community colleges are a large sector of postsecondary education. In 2016–2017, the United States had nearly 1,000 public 2-year postsecondary institutions (community colleges), serving almost nine million students, representing 39% of all undergraduates. The majority of entering community college students require developmental (or remedial) math. Success rates in the developmental math course sequence and college more broadly are discouragingly low. Policymakers, practitioners, and researchers alike are eagerly searching for reforms to improve success rates, but there is a dearth of causal evidence on the effectiveness of most proposed reforms. We sought to answer the following question: what effect does a modularized, computer-assisted, self-paced approach to developmental math (compared with a more “traditional” direct-instruction course alternative) have on students’ likelihood of completing the developmental math course sequence? Findings from a randomized controlled trial (n =1,403) are presented. The program was well implemented; however, we did not find evidence that this approach was superior to the “traditional” math class. Although these results are disappointing, they are important because modularization and self-paced computer-assisted instruction are popular reforms.

由儿童心理学到发展心理学的演进过程经历了奠基期和发展期两个历史阶段.1962年朱智贤教授著的<儿童心理学>的出版,标志着中国儿童心理学体系的形成,为发展心理学体系的确立奠定了基础.20世纪80年代末,儿童心理学研究拓展至对生命全程心理发展的研究,学科发展进入全面发展的新时期,并逐步形成了发展心理学学科体系.回顾过去,展望将来,发展心理学面临着十项研究主题.     

A Cognitive Study of Word-formation of Chinese New Metaphorical Compounds

A great deal of new words are emerging and coming into vogue.Most of the previous studies on Chinese new words focused on their classification,form and meaning,as well as the social motivations.This thesis chooses to study the concept metaphor of Chinese new metaphorical compounds from the cognitive perspective based on 396 new words in 2010 and aims to classify the new metaphorical words in a new way and pay attention to the analysis of word formation of new metaphorical compounds.Besides,this paper attempts to explore the understanding process of metaphorical new words.
