Using quality enhancement processes to achieve sustainable development and support for sessional staff

Abstract

Consistent with quality enhancement, we report on how we used a continuous improvement cycle to formalise and embed an academic development and support programme for our School’s sessional staff. Key factors in establishing and maintaining the programme included: local change agents supported initially by institutional project funding; School support for key academic and administrative roles; timely access to reports and tools from nationally-funded projects and sessional staff input. Reviewing our approach against national standards highlighted ongoing actions while collaboration with academic developers is critical for advancing our understanding and reviewing our approaches in our continuously changing context.     

开放教育管理模式改革的探索与实践

在远程开放教育的管理模式改革中，首要是转变管理观念，关键是要做好支持服务。“协议”、“承诺”方式和“时限管理”是教学管理改革中的创新；“协议”、“承诺”就是把远程教育中的支持服务纳入法律框架，“时限管理”可以提高管理效率。     

农科开放教育农村教学支持服务系统的现状分析与对策

本文就河南举办农村开放教育的情况，针对教学支持服务需求开展调查，结合教学实践，提出了因地制宜建立多种教学资源、开展多种形式教学活动的教学支持服务系统构建对策。     

社会支持视域下应用型独立学院学生心理精准帮扶与调适实效

心理健康是应用型独立学院学生全面发展的重要方面,是建设人力资源强国和教育强国的必然要求。加强学生心理精准帮扶是促进心理健康教育的重要转变,心理精准帮扶目标应从多元公平向靶向精准转变、帮扶资源应从单维供给向多维整合转变、帮扶主体应从规模建设向专业发展转变。在社会支持理论范式下,剖析了应用型独立学院学生心理精准帮扶的实例,认为应从精准预防、精准识别、精准干预、精准帮扶等环节加强应用型独立学院学生心理精准帮扶工作。     

Parental abusive versus supportive behaviors and their relation to hostility and aggression in young adults

The relation of parental support to abuse has rarely been considered in research on the sequelae of childhood abuse in adulthood. In this study, using the Exposure to Abusive and Supportive Environments Parenting Inventory (EASE-PI), young adults who reported higher emotionally abusive parenting (EA) consistently reported significantly lower love and support from both parents. The relation between physically abusive parenting (PA) and love/support depended upon gender of parent and child. EA was significantly related to higher hostility and higher aggression, as measured by the Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory, for both men and women, and to reports of physical fights within the family, for women only. PA was significantly related to higher aggression but not higher hostility. Lower support by fathers, but not by mothers, was significantly related to higher hostility. However, lower support of daughters by mothers was significantly related to increased physical fights in the family. Results indicate that less severe abusive behaviors, especially EA, may have detrimental outcomes of hostility and aggression and that supportive behaviors by both mothers and fathers may be important factors in the outcome.     

Supporting learning with interactive multimedia through active integration of representations

When learners explore dynamic and interactive visualisations they are often not able to interact with them in a systematic and goal-oriented way. Frequently, even supporting learners in processes of discovery learning does not lead to better learning outcomes. This can be due to missing pre-requisite knowledge such as the coherent mental integration of the pictorial and symbolic sources of information. In order to support learners in this process, we encouraged them to interactively and externally relate different static sources of information to each other before exploring dynamic and interactive visualisations. We evaluated the benefit of this instructional support in two experimental studies concerning the domains of statistics and mechanics. It revealed that the active integration of static representations before processing dynamic visualisations resulted in better performance and can provide a basis for a more systematic and goal-oriented experimentation behaviour during simulation-based discovery learning.in final form: 16 November 2004     

从认知角度谈学习动机的激发

近年来,对动机的研究一直是心理学界的热点,尤其是激发学习动机,提高学习能力的问题更受到各个心理学流派的关注,以至在本世纪心理学的研究对象里,已不再把动机作为个性倾向性的一个因素,而是单独的作为一个重要部分出现。     

极不稳定煤巷锚注支护技术的实践

为了解决煤矿极不稳定岩层煤巷的有效支护和返修率较高的技术难题，以某矿的工程实践为例，从巷道围岩破坏以及锚注支护的机理人手，根据具体生产条件特点，选择采用锚注联合支护形式，对其方案设计、主要支护技术参数、施工工艺以及支护监测等方面的内容进行了阐述，并提出了施工时应注意的事项；采用该法，在生产实践中取得了较为显著的技术经济效益，有力地促进了煤矿安全生产工作。     

基于SDSS的区域开发决策支持模型库系统初探

在简要介绍SDSS的基础上，结合图表建立区域开发决策支持模型库系统的框架，并重点介绍了模型库、模型数据库、模型方法库、模型库管理系统、人机交互界面及区域开发决策支持模型库的智能特征，对基于SDSS的区域开发决策支持模型库系统进行了初步探索．     

大学英语教学中自主阅读能力的培养

通过一份英语阅读情况调查表,发现阅读教学中存在3个主要问题:学生缺乏阅读自主性;学生阅读量太少;学生阅读目的过于强调应试。进而以自主性学习为切入点,重点探讨培养学生在阅读中的认知策略、元认知策略以及情感策略,最终提高学生的自主阅读能力。
