He tried to realize his educational vision in his schools and Visva-Bharati University where the world makes its home in a single nest. Tagore's vision of international education can help to prevent misunderstanding and war, promote peace, foster multiculturalism, connect human beings, and celebrate their common heritage     

Impact of Course and Fieldwork on Multicultural Beliefs and Attitudes

This study investigated preservice teachers’ beliefs and attitudes about teaching culturally and linguistically diverse students when progressing through specially designed courses. Data were collected using the Teacher Multicultural Attitude Survey and semi-structured interviews. Analyses indicated that preservice teachers who received more multicultural preparation held more positive attitudes and based their attitudes more on academic preparation than on personal experiences. Preservice teachers who completed the multicultural course and English for speakers of other languages field placement had a more in-depth understanding of how to help culturally and linguistically diverse students.

通过李群、活动标架,以及调和映射来研究从S²到CPⁿ的共形极小浸入．首先,用一种新方法证明Bolton的一个定理,从S²到的全纯曲线在差一个刚动的情况下由度量唯一决定;其次,利用从 S²到CPⁿ的共形极小浸入来构造从S²到G_2,n+1的共形极小浸入;最后,如果φ 是从S²到CPⁿ 的全实共形极小浸入,且φ 是常曲率的,则可以找出具体的等距变换ｇ,使得ｇφ 包含在RPⁿCPⁿ中．     

虚拟团队跨文化特征分析与管理策略研究

结合虚拟团队的特点,剖析了虚拟团队的文化特征、文化差异层面、跨文化冲突及诱因;从“差异论”出发,提出了虚拟团队在处理多元文化问题上应当遵循理解文化差异、利用文化差异、利用文化习得性、进行文化整合和跨文化适应能力培训的策略性原则。

任何语言必然带有文化的烙印,广告语言也不例外。广告语言的翻译要尤其关注文化的制约。文章从广告的定义及特点出发,从语言、文化习俗、审美价值及消费心理四个方面,阐述了英汉文化的差异对广告翻译的影响。     

A Cross-cultural Study of Classroom Learning Environments in Australia and Taiwan

This research is distinctive in that it not only provides an example of one of the few cross-cultural studies in science education, but also it used multiple research methods from different paradigms in exploring classroom learning environments in Taiwan and Australia. This article describes the validation and use of an English and Mandarin version of the What is Happening in this Class? (WIHIC) questionnaire in junior high school science classes in Australia and Taiwan. When the WIHIC was administered to 1,081 students in 50 classes in Australia and to 1,879 students in 50 classes in Taiwan, data analysis supported the reliability and factorial validity of the questionnaire, and revealed differences between Taiwanese and Australian classrooms. Although the study commenced from a more positivistic framework, favouring a more objectivist view, as the study progressed, it employed an interpretative framework and drew on elements of constructivist and critical theory paradigms. This article outlines the researchers' use of multiple research methods including classroom observations, in-depth interviews and narratives. The themes which emerged from the data gathered using these methods helped to make sense of classroom environments that were created in each country.

     

中日跨文化交际中色彩使用的差异--以服饰、礼品为例

色彩作为一种非语言手段,在人际交往中占有十分重要的地位。在不同的文化背景下,色彩的象征意义也有所不同。论文在分别介绍了中日两国色彩使用习惯的基础上,以服饰、礼品为例,分析了中日跨文化交际中色彩使用的差异。     

英汉跨文化交际中常见语用失误及其对策

在英汉跨文化交际中,文化差异是一个不容忽视的问题。忽视文化差异不仅不能进行有效的、正确的语言交流,并且会导致交际障碍、冲突和误解,引起语用失误。本文试从语言与文化的关系入手,对英汉跨文化交际中常见的语用失误进行了分析探讨,并提出了减少交际的语用失误及其对策。

随着经济全球化的发展,各国间语言和文化的融合与渗透也在加速进行中,在国与国之间的跨文化交流中,翻译活动起着越来越重要的作用。本文从跨文化交际的角度来考察文化在翻译领域的影响和作用,探讨了文化语境在翻译实践中的启示和指导意义并针对文化语境的差异采取了不同的翻译策略。     

教师自我表露教学效果的跨文化比较

以180名美国和509名中国师范生为研究对象,采用自编《教师自我表露教学效果问卷》调查和比较中美师范生对教师自我表露教学效果的理解。结果表明,中美师范生认为教师自我表露有助于师生关系的建立和师生之间的交流,对学生的学习具有积极的作用,并有助于促进学生的课堂参与。在"师生关系与师生交流","学生的学习效果"和"课堂参与"三个维度上,美国师范生的得分均显著高于中国师范生。建议在我国教师教育和培训中,注意引导师范生的自我表露意识,建议教师使用积极的自我表露,尽量避免消极的自我表露,采用与教学内容相关的自我表露,并控制自我表露的时间和内容,意识自我表露的数量,真正发挥自我表露作为教学工具的作用。
