Abstract Technology is rapidly moving libraries toward a self-service interlibrary loan model. Patrons currently request books and articles through OCLC's unmediated ILL Direct Request service, and interlibrary loan management software enables users to request, track, and renew borrowed materials unassisted online. In addition, products such as SFX and Serials Solutions further expand unmediated requesting. Peer-to-peer resource sharing defined by the ISO ILL Protocol and direct consortial borrowing, which has become possible following the recently approved NCIP standard, encourage and support the widespread development of self-service interlibrary loan. As borrowing from other collections becomes an almost effortless process for library users, reference librarians must find ways to encourage patron use of local collections, as well as familiarize themselves with the mechanics of unmediated interlibrary loan to better assist patrons in their use of evolving interlibrary loan technology. 相似文献

Recent advances in the cognitive sciences along with theoretical perspectives from a Vygotskian learning paradigm are used to provide a justification for direct instruction in religious education. Direct instruction is not seen as the end of the learning process but one way in which students can be equipped to engage in more complex learning tasks which both challenge and engage them. To be pedagogically effective, direct instruction must be part of a wider teaching strategy and be based on a number of key principles, such as coherence, signalling and recognition of prior learning. The paper argues that direct instruction is especially relevant when dealing with conceptually difficult material. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) is widely used for analyzing multitrait-multimethod (MTMM) data. But there is no consensus about whether multiplicative or additive trait-method effect of its parameterization, most appropriately represents the underlying structure of MTMM data. Given the popularity of two additive CFA models, the CT-CM model and the CT-CU model, this simulation investigates their performance for multiplicative MTMM data. Results showed that the CT-CM model had much lower convergence and proper solution rates than the CT-CU model. Although both models had adequate fit for the converged solutions, all parameter estimates from the CT-CM model were unacceptably biased. The CT-CU model worked well in most conditions and was quite robust to the multiplicative data when the matrix size was 3T3M. 相似文献
