Faculty Hiring at Top-Ranked Higher Education Administration Programs: An Examination Using Social Network Analysis

Using network analysis we investigated faculty hiring at 21 U. S. News top-ranked programs in higher education administration. Our research questions were as follows. Do top programs hire from each other? Are faculty from the “outside” finding positions at top programs? Mixed results hint at implications for the “health” of the hiring network. Closed systems in higher education may produce unintended consequences as graduate programs look to expand into new global markets.     

Cultural and linguistic diversity in early childhood teacher preparation: The impact of contextual characteristics on coursework and practica

The population of children in early childhood settings is becoming increasingly culturally and linguistically diverse, and these changes in demographics have warranted teachers becoming more culturally responsive and better prepared to work with diverse young children and families. Teacher preparation programs across the nation have responded differently to this critical issue, in part because of the different contexts in which they exist. Analyses were conducted using data from the National Prekindergarten Center’s (NPC) National Study of Early Childhood Teacher Preparation Programs and the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES) Integrated Post-Secondary Education Dataset (IPEDS). Geographical, program, and institutional characteristics were analyzed from a sample of 416 Bachelor’s degree programs to determine how these variables were associated with the amount of diversity content and experience required in teacher preparation programs. Results indicated that the presence of non-White full-time faculty was positively related to more required coursework focused on working with children and families from culturally diverse backgrounds, while degree of urbanization, governance of institutions, and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education accreditation were associated with required coursework focused on working with bilingual children and English language learners. The percentage of the non-Hispanic White population in a state and geographic region were both associated with practica requirements focused on working with bilingual children and English language learners. Implications and recommendations for policy, future research, and early childhood teacher preparation are discussed.     

高职院校勤工助学育人功能浅析——以广东女子职业技术学院学生勤工助学为例

高职院校勤工助学功能可以从经济资助和育人两个维度分析,即勤工助学是家庭经济困难学生通过利用课余时间参加劳动,不仅可以将劳动所得解决部分学习、生活的经济困难,而且可以通过劳动过程培养劳动观念、自立自强精神和职业能力,为高职院校育人服务,促进大学生认识和了解社会,增强学生的社会责任感,树立勤俭节约、服务社会的意识。论文试图重点从育人的维度分析高职院校勤工助学的功能。     

幼儿园体育活动健康开展的新思考

幼儿固体育活动的作用早已得到公认,但幼儿健康的身体活动也不容忽视。在遵循幼儿身心发展及教育规律的基础上,研究如何发挥教师的作用．开展科学、健康的体育活动,有效促进幼儿健康成长,具有重要意义。本文为此提出几点思考及解决问题的建议。     

从认知-语用角度看“美轮美奂”等汉语形容词的词义扩展

从认知-语用角度来看,图式范畴化理论、语用因素和语言习得造成＂美轮美奂＂词义变化,使其修饰对象由建筑物扩展到一切美好事物。其中语用因素包括礼貌原则、面子理论、关联理论和词汇语用学中的语用充实。这些因素造成了诸如＂美轮美奂＂这样的汉语形容词词义的扩展。     

网络教育专业培养方案制定的原则和思路

目前,网络教育的专业培养方案并未真正体现网络教育的功能和特点,无论是从培养方案所应涵盖的内容项目,还是从培养方案的制定原则和具体思路方面,均需要科学的方法和指导。本文通过访谈,对网络教育专业培养方案及制定进行了充分的实地调研,分析了目前网络教育专业培养方案及制定中存在的突出问题,并针对这些问题,结合作者的相关研究及文献调研的结果,提出制定网络教育专业培养方案的主要内容、原则、关键环节及主要方法,以期为我国高校网络教育专业培养方案的制定提供参考。     

国外心理技能训练（MST）程序的传递与周期化心理技能训练研究

主要采用文献资料法阐述了心理技能训练在最佳竞技状态发展中所起的作用。但是,在运动心理领域对怎样尽力为最佳运动表现提供必要的心理技能训练工具和技能存在着一些分歧。心理训练咨询师和干预研究者们最近已提议心理训练的周期化可能是应用运动心理程序传递的未来主要的方法,心理技能训练程序的传递模式有待于进一步的研究。

近年来,方言电视栏目剧悄然崛起。在数十个卫星频道争奇斗艳的中国荧屏,缺少大制作、缺少大明星、讲着重庆方言的《雾都夜话》凭借其清晰准确的市场定位、本土化的真实故事、共同关注的情感话题和简洁化的故事情节等成为其中的佼佼者,给方言电视栏目剧的制作带来有益借鉴。     

Constructing validity arguments for test combinations

The argument-based approach to validation has been widely adopted in validation theory. However, this approach aims to validate the intended interpretation and use of a single test or assessment. This article proposes an extension of the argument-based approach for validation of multiple tests. This extension is illustrated with the validation of a competency assessment program (CAP). This CAP was validated in collaboration with a quality manager of an educational program. In this case study, it became apparent that this approach fosters an in-depth evaluation of the assessment program and that the approach appears suitable for validation efforts of competency assessment programs. The approach guides validation research from a more general perspective, but also guides more detailed validation efforts.
