Listening to children’s views of spiritual and metaphysical concepts: A new dimension to educational psychology practice?

Educational psychologists (EPs) have for many years been developing techniques for listening to children. The aim of the present research was to investigate ways of listening to the “spiritual” views of children in order to develop questions that educational psychologists might use as part of the assessment repertoire. The study explored children’s spiritual concepts such as their purpose for “being on the planet” and the “meaning of their life”. The findings suggest that primary and secondary school children from mixed religious backgrounds can respond to spiritual questions in a clear way. In addition, most children believed that spiritual views influence how children behave. Further research is required to explore whether children’s views of spiritual concepts are linked to learning and progress in school and in life.     

Work‐integrated curricula in university programs

Higher education is under increasing pressure to re‐evaluate the place of practice in its programs and there are increasing demands for workplace‐based experiences to be built into undergraduate degrees. The paper reports on an extended responsive case study conducted in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University between 1994 and 2004. The findings point towards a model that can be used to develop courses based around a set of key challenges that learners need to face, criteria for the university’s construction of worthwhile activities, and principles of procedure that are required in order to implement them. It is suggested that university curriculum planners should concentrate on a process model of teaching, learning and research rather than on the more traditional models that tend to treat knowledge as a commodity and emphasise its production, transmission and delivery.     

研究生《人力资源管理》课程实验教学的若干思考

实验教学是研究生《人力资源管理》教学中的一个重要环节,目前《人力资源管理》课程实验教学仍处于探索阶段,还存在开展实验教学客观条件有限、忽视学生群体特点和创新性不足等问题。而由案例教学、仪器实验、实验室情景模拟、专家讲座、小组案例设计等组成的《人力资源管理》课程实验教学体系,能增强学生的学习积极性,提高学生的实践能力、创新能力和理论联系实际的能力。     

再谈实验数据处理方法的合理选择

实验误差分析是实验教学中的一个重要内容,学生常因不能准确理解测量误差的相关概念和分析方法,而采用了错误的实验数据处理方法。针对这一问题,通过电子自旋共振实验的测量误差分析,简述了直接测量、间接测量及不确定度传递的应用;利用脉冲核磁共振实验的数据分析,说明了曲线拟合与拟合不确定度的使用适应性。两者的物理实验结果表明,实验数据处理不是简单的纯计算问题,而是必须遵从严格误差分析原理的技术方法。     

试论外来词的汉化及其文化心理动因

在语言的接触和交流中，汉语通过各种各样的方式吸收外来词，其吸收外来词的过程也就是对外来词进行汉化以纳入自己的词汇系统的过程，而外来词汉化的深层动因则在于汉民族几千年的文化积淀和特殊的语言认知心理。
