试论历史学在社会转型期的价值所在

当前中国社会正处于社会转型阶段,从物质文化到精神文化都在发生着深刻的变化.我们只有从整个人类社会发展历程的角度,才能真正认识当代社会的性质与未来发展方向.历史学对现实社会的指导作用,大大超越了以往简单的经验教训的总结,而是在认识和把握历史规律的基础上,以历史的必然性和规律性为依据,科学地认识当代社会的性质与未来发展方向.同时,社会转型阶段也面临着一个人文精神的传承和重建的艰巨任务,而历史著作中的价值判断和历史主体意义阐释,既是时代精神的反映,又是人文传承和教育的重要渠道.     

A Feminist Perspective on Parental Leave Policies

This article focuses on the ways that three feminist theories—liberal feminism, cultural feminism, and feminist poststructuralism—might be used to craft parental leave policies. After examining each theory in detail, the article concludes by offering one example of an ideal parental leave policy that combines the best features of each theory to produce a policy that is responsive to faculty needs and works to change gender roles. Often faculty and administrators implement policies without truly thinking through the theories that underpin the policies. This article provides the tools to help create theoretically informed policy. Margaret W. Sallee received her M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University and is currently a Ph.D. student and Research Assistant in the Center for Higher Education Policy Analysis at the University of Southern California. Her research focuses on faculty work lives and the influence of gender on graduate student socialization.     

‘Wow,this is where I'm supposed to be!’ Rethinking gender construction in teacher recruitment 1

This paper focuses on how understanding male gendered ways of experiencing the teaching profession might help us address the current shortage of male diversity in teaching. The study discusses the factors that may influence males to enter teaching and proposes the possibility of considering the participation of males in teaching as a way to contribute to education without essentialising notions of gender, but rather by acknowledging the gendered experience of becoming and being a teacher. An analysis of interviews with male teachers and teacher candidates indicates that the most salient aspect that drove the male participants into teaching is their desire to give back to the community and to promote social justice. The author thus proposes a set of guiding directions for how to begin the process of rethinking gender construction and attracting males into the teaching profession in a way that addresses gender balance and teaching quality.

文廷式主张打通古今中外,为变革时代所用;主张学术随时代而尽其变,检讨汉学、宋学之缺陷;为改进中国政治制度,他编撰《新译列国政治通考》以介绍西洋政治制度。他探求西方科技知识,以有益于“民生日用”。比较中外宗教,分析儒学、墨学之特征。引入佛家平等说分析世界万物与人类社会,对轮回说进行新的阐发。他长于史学,对各种历史资料的考辨论述,颇具史学价值;批判清代诗学,论词学兴衰,亦有独到见解。惜其著作多为评点式,未成体系,有的书稿散佚,影响他未能成为学术大家,但他是一位思想变革与学术创新的先知先觉。     

宋代启蒙历史读物中的史学意识——以《史学提要》为中心

宋代以来,供蒙童初学的启蒙读物中以历史知识为内容的书籍大量增加,这些历史类蒙学读物以对史学意识较之前有更深刻的认识和明确的表现为显著特点。文章试以其中南宋黄继善的《史学提要》一书为例,分别从其书名、目录分类情况以及思想内容三方面加以探讨,以期凸显出宋代启蒙历史读物中所反映出的史学意识,以及这种意识具有不断走向社会、深入大众的趋势。     

经济史的史学范式与经济学范式

经济史有史学与经济学两种范式,各自归属于历史学和经济学两个学科范畴。两种范式在合作与争夺中产生和发展着,既有联系又有区别,理清二者的关系,有助于正确认识经济史学科的当前形态和今后发展趋势。

李大钊是中国共产主义运动的先驱和中国马克思主义史学的奠基人,对促进中国传统史学现代化和建构中国马克思主义史学作出了重大贡献。李大钊史学思想理论的形成和发展有其特定的历史语境和逻辑理路,他联系中国革命的具体进程,对历史、历史学、历史观以及史学与人生、史学在科学中的地位等作出了精辟论述,强调要以"新"历史观指导史学研究,重视史学的理论基础,把"活历史"放入整个历史进程之中,以"民众"为基础建构"平民"的新历史,最终本着建设社会主义的价值旨归建构中国马克思主义史学。在历史观、认识论、方法论和研究范式等方面,这些思想对于建构中国马克思主义史学具有原创性贡献,确立了中国历史研究的价值意义和目标取向。
