An assessment framework for inclusive education: integrating assessment approaches

Teachers committed to inclusive education have the potential to revolutionise pedagogical and assessment practices within regular classrooms simply because students with high needs challenge traditional assumptions about what it means ‘to learn’ and ‘to assess’. This creates opportunities for teachers to find creative ways to ascertain what and how a child learns, and how these assessment results can be communicated to the child, parents, the school and funding bodies to enable further learning. This paper explores diverse assessment practices including criterion-based, normative, ipsative and self-assessment, with both formative and summative functions, reported as being used by teachers in New Zealand who teach students with high needs. These multiple approaches can be integrated into learning stories to ‘narrate’ student learning. An assessment framework is introduced to support teachers to appreciate the functionality of an integrated assessment approach to document student learning and outcomes, arguably a framework applicable for all learners.     

Teacher Empathy and Attitudes Towards Individuals with Disabilities

The article presents research results of a study aimed at determining the correlation between empathy understood as a personality disposition and general attitudes towards individuals with disability. The sample consisted of 300 special education teachers working with persons with intellectual disabilities in primary and secondary schools and institutions of rehabilitation, and 280 general education teachers working with able-bodied students in primary and secondary schools. Two instruments were used: Empathic Understanding of Other People Questionnaire, and the Scale of Attitudes towards Individuals with Disability. In the group of special education teachers, only Syndrome 2 of empathy was statistically significant for shaping the attitudes, whereas among teachers, Syndromes 1, 3 and 4 were significant. In Syndromes 1, 2 and 4, including the highest level of emotional, cognitive, motivational and communication aspects of empathy, the correlations were positive as expected. In the case of Syndrome 3, including the considerable level of cognitive empathy, the correlation was negative.     

确定多分类器融合中模糊测度的一种新方法

为了解决多分类器融合中确定模糊测度困难的问题,本文提出了一种简单实用的方法:先利用基于模糊一致矩阵的决策方法计算各分类器的主观模糊密度值,然后将其与作为客观模糊密度值的分类器识别率进行组合得到各分类器的综合模糊密度值,进而确定出相应的模糊测度值。     

结合湘西地方性教学资源构建《概论》课的实践教学体系

社会实践教学是《概论》课教学过程中的重要组成部分。目前,各个高校的《概论》课程基本上都按照教育部的相关规定设置了实践教学的课时,但往往因为各种各样的因素,导致一些高校《概论》课的实践教学沦入走形式的境遇。实践教学的开展固然需要政策、资金、人力、组织等多方面因素的考量,但只要因地制宜,充分发挥各个高校所在地区的地方性教学资源,仍能创造出很好的教学效果。本文以湘西地区为例,探讨如何更好地结合地方性教学资源构建《概论》课的实践教学体系。     

Backlash analysis of a new planetary gearing with internal gear ring

Due to low carrying capacity and short life of current ring reducer, we proposed a new planetary gearing with internal gear ring, which consisted of two stages. One was an involute planetary drive and the other was an N-type planetary drive with small teeth difference. The kinematic calculation was conducted based on the analysis of structural composition and working principle. Formulas of backlash calculation for the new planetary gearing were derived by using probabilistic theory and the analytical model was created at the same time. Then, main factors that affect the systematic backlash were introduced and the effects of manufacture error, misaligments and roller bearing parameters on the distribution of backlash were presented. The influence of gear backlash on systematic return difference was performed based on the backlash mathematic model proposed. The results show that the backlash is a little large, of which the backlash of bearing takes a greater part than two gearing stages. So we presented some practical methods to reduce the systematic backlash.
