Untangling the Net

Abstract

The importance of computer training in social work education will continue to increase as the profession becomes more globalized and technological. It is the authors' premise that social work education must include the integration of training in computer technology. One resource available to educators is the Internet. The world wide web contains a vast amount of information on policy and social issues. This article discusses the use of web based learning exercises to simultaneously teach social policy and enhance student computer skills. Two learning exercises are presented which are designed for use in social work policy courses. The authors present their teaching experiences and provide suggestions on using this approach in the classroom environment. Information on resources and useful URL's for policy research is included in the discussion.     

Social Work Values Systems of Chinese Students

ABSTRACT

This paper presents the findings of a study conducted on the social work values systems of social work students in the City University of Hong Kong. A social work values scale composed of six dimensions, namely human worth, potential for change, mutual care, societal responsibility, social participation and freedom to make choice, was constructed. The findings in this study indicated that all batches of students had a common pattern in the ranking of the order of the value dimensions. Not all the value dimensions had an increase in scores with the increase in training and practice experiences. The fieldwork placement was considered by the students as the most important formal channel during trainingin the acquisition of social work values. It is suggested that social work educators need to have a thorough review of the relationship between curriculum design and the inculcation of professional values.     

Adverse Childhood Experiences Among MSW Students

This study examined the extent to which age, education, and practice experience among social work graduate students (N = 184) predicted cognitive complexity, an essential aspect of critical thinking. In the regression analysis, education accounted for more of the variance associated with cognitive complexity than age and practice experience. When age and direct practice experience were controlled for, education accounted for 6% of the variance in cognitive complexity. Results suggest that education experience may play a more important role in social work student cognitive complexity than age or practice experience. Implications for social work education and assessing student cognitive development are discussed.     

教学模式对学生英语技能的影响——网络辅助下的公共英语教学模式与传统教学模式对比分析

通过调查问卷和实验等结果统计,对比分析网络辅助下的公共英语教学模式与传统教学模式给学生英语技能带来的影响,提出网络辅助教学的可行性和实用性.     

对中国女网单打选手参加06、07年“大满贯赛事”的实力分析

运用文献资料法、数理统计法和比较法,对我国网球女单选手在2006年澳网、法网、温网和2007年澳网女单比赛中的技战术指标进行统计分析,对李娜的技战术指标进行独立分析,并对中国选手整体和李娜进行对比分析。结果表明：我国网球女单选手的一发得分率、二发得分率、接发球的分率、主动得分、破发成功率等技术指标都有了不同程度的提高,而且双误和非受破性失误有所降低,但是整体水平有待进一步提高。     

运动员心理技能与流畅经验的关系研究

研究以参加浙江省第十一届大学生运动会田径比赛的217名运动员为受试对象,针对运动员心理技能与运动流畅经验之间的关系进行研究探讨。结果显示:心理技能与流畅经验之间呈正相关;以心理技能七个分量表为控制变量(因变量),流畅经验四个分量表为效标变量(自变量)的典型相关分析中发现:心理技能与流畅经验间有两组典型相关存在;典型因素可以直接解释流畅经验总变异量的46%。心理技能中的逆境应对、压力适应能力越差,自信心不足的运动员,越不容易在竞赛中感受到运动的流畅经验。研究建议:加强运动员心理技能学习和训练,心理技能的提高有助于竞赛中感受到流畅经验。     

智慧技能与体育教学的关系研究

从简要分析加涅学习结果中智慧技能四个层级：辨别、概念、规则与高级规则入手,对各个层级与体育教学的关系进行了探讨,以期引起人们对中小学体育教学中认知领域的重视,为体育学习的深入提供思考方向。     

论提高英语学习的有效途径

文章针对河南省及国内诸多高校英语专业基础阶段教育面临的一些共同问题,在实验、研究及调查的基础上,提出了解决问题的有效途径一英文原著阅读,并论证了这一途径对英语学习的薤要作用。     

高职《经济法》教学改革之我见

高职教学应以技能培养为需要,文章结合高职教育特点,对于《经济法》课程教学中的教学模式、教学方法和考试方法的改革进行了探讨。指出改革传统的课程体系和教学方法,是体现高职教学特点和深化高识教育教学改革的基本环节。
