Art and Design Education in the Ecology of Care

In the light of challenges arising from contemporary issues such as inclusivity, sustainability and justice, the connections between art, design and caring appears to be pertinent. What role can artists and designers play in the ecology of care? How can we lead art and design students to connect and lend their creative skills to care needs? Drawing on the ethics of care and a relational view on health this article highlights the various teaching approaches and initiatives introduced at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, to support and guide students to realise various art and design for health and wellbeing projects that provide opportunities for students to part take in ecology of care using their creative skills. Although creative explorations at the intersection of art, design and caring is still at an early stage, outcomes from this ongoing effort have been encouraging in response to the shifting social needs to create a more inclusive and flourishing society in Singapore.     

论高师音乐专业人文素质教育

高师音乐专业教育并重，艺术与化相融合，是时代发展对高师艺术教育的必然要求。本对高师音乐专业人素质教育的内容、目标进行了探讨，并提出了改进和人素质教育的措施。     

对“意义”的多维透视

“意义”是人文社会科学中的基本范畴之一。从语言学、哲学、逻辑学等多个角度对其进行研究,可以全方位地挖掘“意义”的内涵。同时,从“意义”的分类及特征着眼,也有助于对“意义”内涵的把握和理解。     

价值论维度的科学精神和人文精神的统一

人类的实践活动只有做到既遵循真理原则,又遵循价值原则,才能保证实践的成功。正是基于实践的这一要求,人们逐渐形成了科学精神和人文精神,并形成了以二者统一作为实践的指导思想和行为规范的原则。从这个意义上讲,价值论是科学精神和人文精神统一的重要理论基础,离开价值论谈科学精神与人文精神的统一是片面的和不现实的。     

Relating early childhood teachers’ working conditions and well-being to their turnover intentions

High turnover rates of early care and education teachers reduce the quality of education; unsatisfied teachers, suffering from stress or emotional exhaustion, are less equipped to promote children’s development and more likely to leave the classroom. We used data from a national survey of US early childhood educators (n?=?1129) to examine associations between teachers’ working conditions, well-being, and motivation with professional commitment and turnover intentions to move, leave, or remain. Multiple regression analyses revealed that more intrinsically motivated teachers were more likely to report intentions to move over leave, emotionally exhausted teachers were more likely to report intentions to leave, and lower teacher-reported working conditions predicted intentions to move or leave the field over staying. The results suggest that teachers’ well-being and perceived working conditions relate with their intentions to remain at their job or within the field and to their commitment to the profession.     

延续性护理对脑卒中患者知信行的效果研究

目的:探讨延续性护理干预对脑卒中患者知信行(KAP)功能康复的效果。方法:选择我院神经内科收治的脑卒中患者110例,随机分为对照组和干预组各55例。对照组采用神经内科常规护理,干预组在常规护理基础上联合延续性护理干预,通过对脑卒中患者的知识、态度及行为,比较两组的护理效果。结果对照组和干预组患者知信行问卷的总体得分,比较差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论:通过延续护理干预方式对脑卒中患者的知信行功能康复起到治疗作用,纠正不当的生活行为,提升日常生活能力,明显改善康复锻炼的依从性。     

重新审视文学教育回归文学教育本位

随着文学在中国社会文化结构中的边缘化，文学教育这个事关培养新一代具有崇高人格、文化品位和审美鉴赏等诸多能力的基础教育工程也在教育体制、教育目标、教育理念、课程设置、教材教法等方面存在着许多亟待解决的问题，应采取相应的改进措施。     

Improving quality of the child care environment through a consultancy programme for centre directors

This study examined the effects of a newly developed on-site consultancy programme to improve global quality of the child care environment in non-parental child care centres for 0- to 4-year-old children as measured with the ITERS-R/ECERS-R. Using a randomised controlled trial with a pretest, posttest, and follow-up test, we compared 35 experimental group with 33 control group. The consultancy programme comprised three consultations in total. Analysis on the items that were specifically targeted during the consultancy showed a significant improvement on these targeted items between pretest and posttest and between posttest and follow-up. The effect of the consultancy programme on the total scores (including the non-targeted items) was not significant.     

"学会生存"和"学会关心":教师专业发展的两种互补状态

从“学会生存”到“学会关心”是终身教育理念的进一步深化，也是社会发展在教育领域的反映。还是教师专业化发展的内在要求。“学会生存”更多的是从教师自我教育、自我提高的角度出发：而“学会关心”则从更深层次对教师教育发展提出的要求。但是，事实上，“学会生存”和“学会关心”已是推动教师教育发展的两种互补状态。     

College Students’ Reasons for Depression Nondisclosure in Primary Care

Unwillingness to share depression experiences with primary care physicians contributes to the undertreatment of depression. This project examined college students’ reasons for depression nondisclosure to primary care providers (PCPs). Undergraduate participants read a vignette describing someone with depression and completed measures of disclosure barriers. Analyses indicated 26% of respondents would NOT disclose depression symptoms to PCPs. Reasons for nondisclosure included difficulty initiating the depression conversation, medication aversion, and fear of referral to a psychologist. Also, anger toward the vignette character varied with disclosure willingness, suggesting that nondisclosers feel more stigma than disclosers and are less likely to engage in psychotherapy. Because engagement in pharmacological and/or psychotherapeutic treatment requires identification of depression in healthcare settings, increased understanding of disclosure barriers could increase students’ access to depression treatment.
