Quality Improvement in University Counseling Centers

University Counseling Centers (UCCs) experience high clinical demands and severe client presentations leaving counselors with limited time and resources to evaluate delivery of services. In this article, we present clinician-friendly quality improvement (QI) strategies used at a large Midwestern university and provide recommendations for implementing QI programs at other UCCs even as their resources may vary. With counselor-led efforts examining and evaluating services, UCCs can use QI programs to inform and improve counseling practices as well as advise university administrators about the positive outcomes of the center’s work.

论科学研究过程的质量改进

本文以科学研究和科研质量的相关研究为基础,分析了科学研究的本质特征,论述了科研质量和科研质量观的内涵和要求,构建了科研质量实现过程和科研变量模型,提出了科研质量改进的目标和原则,探讨了科研过程质量改进的若干策略。     

Effects of coaching on teacher use of sociocultural instructional practices

This study evaluates a performance-based instructional coaching model intended to improve teacher pedagogy and classroom organization for educating diverse student populations. Elementary teachers (N = 21) participated in a 30-h workshop and seven individual coaching sessions across an academic year. The coaching model promoted use of the Standards for Effective Pedagogy, five research-based practices known to increase student achievement. Findings demonstrate performance-based instructional coaching led to statistically significant (a) improvements in teacher pedagogy, (b) patterns of teacher growth, and (c) changes in classroom organization. Implications for improving teachers’ ultimate achievement, the coaching protocol, and research are addressed.     

非正式制度视角:独立学院转设政策执行分析

独立学院转设政策的执行不仅受到正式制度的约束,同时还受到非正式制度的规约。传统社会观念滞后与执行者习惯性认知偏差、沟通不畅与利益投机、伦理失范和价值偏离等非正式制度因素,阻碍着独立学院转设政策的有效执行。建议改良教育政策执行的环境、加强信息沟通,拓宽利益表达渠道、规约教育政策执行主体的行为与意识,并建构合理的义利观,以应对独立学院转设政策的非正式制度的制约。     

英语专业精读教学中的人文关怀探索

英语专业精读教学的开展要从学生的实际需要出发,以人为本,尊重学生的人格和需要,关注学生的情感和态度,借助语言的人文关怀,把学生培养成既有良好的文化素质,又有深厚的人文精神;既有扎实的专业知识,又有健康健全的人格的高级人才。     

The influence of competences and support on school performance feedback use

Information‐rich environments are created to promote data use in schools for the purpose of self‐evaluation and quality assurance. However, providing feedback does not guarantee that schools will actually put it to use. One of the main stumbling blocks relates to the interpretation and diagnosis of the information. This study examines the relationship between data literacy competences, support given in interpreting the information, actual use of the feedback and potential school improvement effect. A randomised field experiment with 188 school principals from primary education was set up and a post‐test was used to investigate the effects of a support initiative. The results revealed that a minority of schools invested significantly in the interpretation and diagnosis of the school performance feedback (SPF), despite the fact that most of the respondents showed an interest in the SPF report. In addition, data competence support and the subsequent use of feedback were found to be limited.

通过＂摇橹划水＂动作的练习对提高少儿游泳运动员＂水感＂作用的分析,提升游泳运动员的运动成绩。研究表明,有助于培养少儿对游泳的兴趣,提高运动员的积极性;在符合少儿生长发育的前提下有助于提高少儿游泳运动员的一般力量。
