Factors Affecting the Successful Implementation of a Common Assignment for First-Year Composition Information Literacy

This article describes a two-year pilot program in which instruction librarians introduced a common assignment to measure information literacy in freshman composition courses. The resultant artifacts showed discrepancies between course sections and indicated the need to design an assignment collaboratively with instructors from the ground up. The process revealed nuances of collaboration, and it exposed assumptions about sharing learning goals across multiple sections of a course taught by a diverse group of instructors. Although the first year of the pilot did not result in usable data, it revealed key factors for success in programmatic assessment that we were able to implement in the second year, resulting in a much stronger leadership role for the library.

High-Tech Classrooms Need Highly Competent Instructors

The 21 st century classroom requires instructors with more advanced skills and competencies to deliver materials in a way that engages students both traditional and non-traditional. Traditional students have come to expect the incorporation of technology into their classrooms because they have grown up with it and can see its usefulness, while non-traditional students may need additional resources online in order to reinforce new concepts. By employing Web 2.0 technologies, like online video and discussion boards, into both the online and traditional on-campus classrooms, instructors can address both isolation and different learning styles, as well as address issues relating to problems with understanding concepts being taught and respond positively to feedback provided by both the students and administrators. In addition, utilizing Web 2.0 technology in the online classroom can reduce the isolation that many students feel in these classrooms by ensuring students can communicate with other students as well as the instructor.

通过对中国知网作业查重系统的数据收集和对部分学生的交流访谈,分析了2019—2020学年Z大学研究生课程论文(作业)学术不端行为存在的一些主要问题,从而进一步剖析学生学术不端行为产生的原因,梳理Z大学现有制度及多年的教学改革经验,对预防学生学术不端行为提出了一些建议。     

基于航班纯度的鲁棒性机型指派问题研究

机型指派问题(FAP)是指根据飞机舱位能力、运营成本、潜在收益及飞机可用性,将具有不同舱位容量的飞机指派给各定期航班的问题.它是飞机、机组排班问题的基础,是整个航班计划中的最核心环节.然而,单独的机型指派最优对整个航班计划而言,可能是次优的,甚或是不可行的.本文针对国内航班计划特点,从航班的角度,定义了航班纯度概念,并建立基于航班纯度的机型指派模型.最后,以国内某航空公司干线网络为实例,表明该研究具有很大的理论意义和实践价值.
