Immediate and delayed effects of interest cues and engagement cues on students' affective learning

This experiment tested the effects of teacher immediacy, use of organizational lecture cues, and stuaent notetaking on students’ affective learning both immediately and one week after viewing an experimentally manipulated lecture. Results of the experiment suggested that teacher immediacy had the greatest effect on student affect and that this effect was stable over time. Additionally, an interaction was detected where students viewing the lectures with high immediacy but without organizational cues had sharper declines in affect than students viewing the high immediacy/with cues lectures.

儿童听写困难研究综述

听写困难是儿童学习障碍的一种,是指在没有阅读障碍病史的情况下儿童特定拼写技能明显落后的现象。已有研究发现,听写困难儿童在字形表征、形音联结强度、语音表征、语义表征与听写正常儿童存在着显著差异,未来研究应注重对听写困难纵向发展的研究、制定听写技能的发展常模、探明听写过程中各环节的转换机制和神经生理基础及影响听写活动的相关因素。

金銮是明代中后期一位独具特点的散曲家。关西的生活经历、南京的特殊环境、任侠喜谑的个性使他的散曲创作呈现出清爽、谑讽、俗朴之风。其曲风既有别于元代散曲家张可久、乔吉辈,也与明代散曲家王磐多有不同,有其可称之处。     

原型理论与言语反讽的认知解读

言语反讽是一种语言认知现象,体现话语字面意义与隐含意义之间的差异。原型理论对解读言语反讽意义的认知机制有一定的阐释作用。言语反讽是基于原型的范畴,若言语满足具有一定条件的反讽环境即构成反讽原型,则言语反讽范畴中的成员根据它们与反讽原型的相似程度判断其反讽性。

英语阅读教学中语篇信息词的作用

文章作者以教学研究者和反思者的双重身份,以自己的课堂教学为试验基地,通过两年的实践,在英语阅读教学中有意识地强调语篇信息词在英语阅读课文中的作用。研究试验数据、教师的实际教学、问卷调查和随后的访谈都表明有意识地培养学生在英语阅读课文中关注语篇信息词,不仅可以提高学生阅读理解的效率,还可改进教师英语阅读课的教学方法和提高授课技巧。     

Investigating reading development in atypical populations: The case of Williams syndrome

This paper presents a review of currentknowledge concerning the reading skills ofchildren and adults with Williams syndrome. The paper begins by highlighting themethodological issues surrounding research onreading in atypical populations and discussesthe issue of comparison groups. It proceeds toreview evidence from studies that havedescribed the reading profile observed inWilliams syndrome in relation to the documentedcognitive and linguistic profile, andspecifically examines the relationship betweenreading and phonological skills. The paperadvocates a more dynamic developmental approachto the study of reading in atypical populations.     

Which ingroup,when? Effects of gender,partisanship, veteran status,and evaluator identities on candidate evaluations

Military service is acknowledged as one of many elements voters use to evaluate candidates, but it has primarily been studied as a univariate element of a candidate’s biography. This project experimentally manipulates veteran status, gender, and partisanship as potentially interactive heuristics for evaluation of a hypothetical candidate specifically regarding military issues. We found an almost universal benefit enjoyed by veterans over civilians regardless of whether the candidate was a member of the participant’s partisan ingroup or outgroup. We also found little evidence of a gender penalty, and even a benefit for women candidates who were veterans, though this benefit was restricted to evaluations from Republican women. We also found that Democratic respondents assigned a penalty to outgroup veteran men candidates. We explain these nuanced findings in the context of moderation by gender mis/alignment between participant and candidate. Implications of the study are offered.
