功能主义理论下中药说明书翻译的问题与策略

在当今世界经济全球化背景下,传统中药也进入了新的发展阶段,参与国际市场竞争。中药说明书的翻译是推行中药国际化的重要工具,但却不尽如人意。本文将考察现有部分中药说明的英文译文,总结其中的缺点和不足,并在功能主义翻译理论的指导下,提出可行的翻译策略和译文。     

Pedagogical Practices and Support Systems of Inclusion: Empirical Evidence from Chinese Societies

China has a massive population of children with disabilities. To address the special needs of these children, special/inclusive education in China has developed dramatically since the early 1980s onwards. This Special Issue puts together seven empirical studies emerging from the Chinese societies. These studies analyse inclusive discourses embedded in the education policy documents; scrutinise professional competence of inclusive education teachers; evaluate inclusive education practices in physical education, mathematics education, and job-related social skills education provided to students with disabilities; debate the required in-class support for inclusive education teachers; and discuss the social attitudes towards people with disabilities. The foci, methods and theories vary across the seven studies, while their aims converge. These studies are seeking best possible approaches and best available resources that facilitate inclusion. Knowledge built and lessons learned from these studies will provide implications for future inclusive education practices in China and beyond.     

Graduate student confidence following a for-credit systematic review course pilot

Background:In 2015, librarians at Purdue University began fielding requests from many disciplines to consult or collaborate on systematic review projects, and in 2016, health sciences librarians led the launch of a formal systematic review service. In 2019, Purdue University Libraries was reorganized as the Libraries and School of Information Studies (PULSIS) and assigned its own course designation, ILS. The increase in calls for systematic review services and the ability to teach ILS courses inspired the development of a credit-bearing ILS systematic review course.Case presentation:We designed, taught, and assessed a one-credit systematic review course for graduate students, using a backward-design course development model and applying self-determination theoretical concepts into lessons, assignments, and assessments. Using qualitative pre- and post-assessments, we discovered a variety of themes around student motivations, expectations, and preferences for the course. In quantitative post-class assessments, students reported improved confidence in all systematic review processes, with the highest confidence in their ability to choose and use citation management managers, describe the steps in the systematic review process, and understand the importance of a reproducible and systematic search strategy.Conclusions:We considered our pilot a success. Next steps include testing 2- and 3-credit- hour models and working to formally integrate the course into departmental and certificate curriculums. This case report provides a model for course design principles, learning outcomes, and assessments that librarians and library administrators can use to adjust their systematic review services.     

A Purposeful Collaboration: Using a Library Course Enhancement Grant Program to Enrich ESL Instruction

Developing a meaningful collaboration with teaching faculty to enhance courses can be a challenge for information professionals as they struggle to move away from the one-shot classroom lecture model. The Association of College & Research Libraries encourages the use of mini grants for this purpose. These incentives can jump-start partnerships in a needed area, such as English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction. The article describes The Ohio State University Libraries Course Enhancement Grant Program and its positive impact on a subject librarian and ESL instructor teaching collaboratively in a composition course, with an analysis of students’ assessment of course objectives and outcomes.     

Assessing Academic Library Services to Distance Learners: A Literature Review of Perspectives from Librarians,Students, and Faculty

Many academic libraries are expanding services to online and distance students to keep pace with enrollment trends in higher education, prompting additional research to evaluate the use and effectiveness of library reference and instruction services to distance users. This literature review explores this research from the perspectives of academic librarians, distance students, and faculty teaching online and distance courses, and finds both commonalities and contradictions among these viewpoints.

由于环境的改变,当前高校图书馆正处于服务拓展与革新的历史发展时期。作为高校图书馆核心工作内容之一的信息素养教育,亦处于变化及不断革新的过程之中。论文以上海交通大学图书馆信息素养教育的实施模式为例,从教学内容设计、教学方法应用、宣传推广策略、教学对象设定、成效反馈等方面展示了该馆包括学分课程、滚动培训、新生培训、院系讲座、信息专员培训、嵌入课程六种主体信息素养教育模式,分析了该馆信息素养教育呈现出的特点及未来发展方向。

应用型师资培养背景下实践导向的公共心理学教学设计

为更好地发挥公共心理学课程在应用型师资培养中的积极作用,应以教育部最新颁布的教师教育课程改革政策法规为指南,在公共心理学教学中引导学生进行主动建构和实践式的学习,在教学设计中创设有意义学习的条件,让学生在实践情景中学习心理学。通过教学内容设计、教学方法设计、媒体设计和评价设计等四个途径来提高公共心理学教学实践性。

基于游戏在高校体育课堂深受大学生喜爱的事实,运用文献资料法、问卷调查法、专家访谈、教学实践工作总结法和逻辑归纳法,分析了体育游戏运用于高校体育课堂的优势,阐述了高校体育教师在课堂教学中运用体育游戏应注意的若干问题。
