Educators’ perspectives on the impact of Edcamp unconference professional learning

Edcamps are a voluntary, democratic form of unconference. This paper presents participants’ perceptions regarding the impact of Edcamps. Data were gathered from a survey and interviews (N=105). Participants overwhelmingly reported that Edcamp experiences caused changes in their practices and in student learning. The impacts of Edcamps were often described in terms of student engagement, experiences, and dispositions, rather than traditional measures of achievement such as test scores. Participants experienced various obstacles and supports as they utilized what they had learned at Edcamps. Considering these results, the Edcamp model and its implications for other forms of teacher learning are discussed.     

Learning from those who no longer teach: Viewing teacher attrition through a resistance lens

Most public school teachers in the United States now leave the classroom before reaching retirement. Research on teacher attrition has tended to focus on novice teachers, using human capital or organizational theories to understand trends in teacher exit. This study examines the accounts of certified, experienced teachers who left teaching after making significant investments in the career. The accounts of these invested leavers are examined through a lens of resistance, illuminating issues of power as well as the ideals of teaching that may be expressed through the decision to leave.     

Decentralization of higher education and its implications for educational autonomy in Taiwan

This article primarily aims to investigate the effects of decentralization on educational autonomy in Taiwan through historical and documentary analysis. To draw an analytical framework, it begins with a brief examination of the concept of autonomy. This is followed by an examination of how decentralization has influenced the state-institution-individual relationship in Taiwan's higher education by using a three-level hierarchical model. After analyzing decentralization as empowering practices, it argues that the emergence of a performativity culture has generated an antinomy of the decentralization reforms, in which decentralization has formed a new ecology of education administration in Taiwan on the one hand, and simultaneously has brought the issue of bureaucratization in education on the other.     

学习者自主认知观及其对现代英语教学的启示

本文从认知心理学角度,阐述了英语学习者自主的概念,并揭示了学习者自主的实质、内在机制及获得途径。学习者自主是应用语言学研究领域的一个重要课题,对现代英语教学改革有着重要的推动作用,对语言教学活动也将带来积极的启示。     

教师角色在培养学生自主学习能力中的实证研究

随着教学主体逐步从以教师为中心向以学生为中心的转移和独立学院的进一步发展,独立学院非英语专业学生的英语自主学习能力越来越引起外语研究者的关注。为了了解学生自主学习能力以及教师如何影响学生自主学习能力,笔者进行了为期两个学期的实验,对所收集的数据用SPSS 15.0软件包进行统计分析发现：当前独立学院非英语专业学生的英语自主学习能力低;教师在培养学生自主学习能力的过程中充当着促进者和资源的角色。

少数民族非物质文化遗产教育自治权实现的关键是法律保护。国际法确立了少数民族非物质文化遗产的法律地位,建构了少数民族非物质文化遗产的权利体系,设定了国家的尊重、保护、实现义务。国际立法需要进一步从权利主体、内容、国家义务、救济等方面深化与完善。

英语学习模式转型期学习者心理变化探析——以绍兴文理学院为例

绍兴文理学院作为新理念大学英语网络教学示范学校,采用基于网络的自主学习模式,与中学阶段以传授语言知识为基本特征的教学模式有很大不同。在此学习模式转型期,很多学生表现出不适应性,对要学什么、怎么学没有明确认识,对自己的英语学习无从安排。基于此现状,本研究以大学英语自主学习为切入点,采用问卷调查、个别访谈和课堂观察等研究手段,试图探讨他们在学习模式转型阶段面对的困难和解决方案。     

迈向理性主体:现代西方教育的根本原则

自启蒙运动以来,理性主体成为现代西方教育的核心理想和根本原则。而对于理性主体的批判并未动摇其根本地位。马克思主义对于理性主体的批判,加深了对理性主体的理解,而后现代主义对于理性主体的批判,在其有效的情况下,是一种自我否定的批判。因此,理性主体应该是正在走向现代化的中国教育所关注的中心。     

高校招生自主权的法律规制

近年来,高校自主招生已成为高等教育改革中多元录取改革方向的一项重要举措,但自主招生的实践也存在诸多问题。高考招生制度改革要取得成功,需要制度保障,学生的受教育权也需要法律的保障。对高校招生自主权进行法律规制应遵守公正、公平、公开、越权无效、信赖保护、有限规制、正当程序的原则,并应完善具有一定效力层次的立法和为学生在受教育权因高校滥用招生自主权而受侵犯时提供法律救济途径。
