The work of classroom assistants in special and mainstream education in Finland

The contribution of teaching assistants, learning support assistants or classroom assistants is becoming increasingly important in inclusive and specialist classrooms. In this article, Marjatta Takala, professor in special education at the University of Helsinki, describes her research into the work of 14 classroom assistants working in a mix of mainstream and special schools in Helsinki, Finland. The results reveal that the tasks undertaken by assistants are different in mainstream and specialist settings and vary also according to the ages of the children involved. The assistants spent more of their time, for example, working directly with children if they worked in mainstream schools. Assistants in special schools, by comparison, spent more time assisting the teacher. Further, assistants working among older children spent more time waiting or simply listening to the lesson than those working with younger children, who seemed to be more actively involved with supporting learning. Marjatta Takala analyses her results by the full range of tasks encountered; according to three broad types of work; and in terms of the planning and co-operation undertaken by assistants and teachers at the class level. Her discussion will be of interest to anyone concerned with the development of support in the classroom and the education of both teachers and teaching assistants.

The Concerns of Mainstream Teachers: Coping with inclusivity in an Australian context

Throughout the past two decades there has been a move away from educating children with disabilities in segregated schools to adopting a more inclusive approach within mainstream schools in all jurisdictions in Australia. This research identifies the concerns of 228 regular class teachers in Western Australia who have all been involved with the inclusion of a child with an intellectual disability in their classrooms. Seven categories of concerns are investigated together with the use and effectiveness of a range of coping strategies. Demographic differences in age, year level being taught, qualifications, teaching experience and previous involvement with inclusion were found regarding concerns about inclusion. The discussion focuses on the relevance of professional development and the need to ensure that it targets the specific concerns of teachers, focusing on the coping strategies recognised as being most useful in order to provide optimal conditions for success.     

市场导向下大宗水权交易的差别化定价模型

水权交易是治水新思路下发挥市场对水资源配置决定性作用的有效途径之一,水权定价模型研究有助于规范和加快水权交易市场发展。区域水权和取水权两种交易模式影响范围广、社会敏感性高,是中国当前两种主要的大宗水权交易模式,市场交易中,价格机制是培育和活跃两种大宗水权市场的核心要素之一。梳理总结现有定价模型和定价机制在大宗水权交易定价中的适应性,提出水权价格是使用者对水资源生产性使用能力的体现。以市场为导向,在全成本价格的基础上,建立区域水权的协商定价模型和取水权竞价模型,论证市场竞争机制对水权增值的作用机理,并以内蒙古黄河干流盟市间水权转让为例,进行定价模型的案例研究,发现该案例宜采用成本价基础上的竞价模型形成其最终交易价格,且从实证结果看,竞价模型既能保障回收水权的全成本,又能促进水权向更高效益的用途流动。最后,提出树立大宗经济性用水水权的商品属性认识、健全大宗水权的基础价格评估机制、将大宗水权交易纳入大宗商品交易体系以及建立多种形式的大宗水权交易平台等对策建议。

对少数族群的移民创业者而言,外来劣势与资源匮乏是一个基本事实,有效的战略选择是移民创业企业获得创业成长的关键。本文聚焦于民族飞地战略、主流市场战略和跨国市场战略,系统地对比分析了移民创业三类战略选择的影响因素及结果。从移民创业战略选择的影响因素来看,微观层面的社会身份认知和创业者自身资源禀赋是决定其战略选择的关键,宏观层面的制度环境、经济环境和文化环境是主导战略选择的重要推动因素,而不同的战略选择会导致新创企业成长路径的演变。本文对移民创业战略选择进行系统的对比分析回顾,深化和扩展了战略与创业的相关研究。     

Old and Grumpy but Still Game

Abstract

My background as an economic historian has strongly influenced my approach to sports history which I practise as a combination of theory and empiricism, particularly of the quantitative kind. Theory is central to our understanding of the social science of sport and evidence makes the subject history rather than fiction. As sports historians we should emphasize that our discipline is as ‘mainstream’ as any other form of history and we can contribute to major historical debates on, for example, race, gender, identity, and nationalism.

目前国内学界流行把中国文化三分为官方主流文化、民间大众文化和学界精英文 化,这种分类法在概念与逻辑上均有不完善之处,因为它同时包容了两种分类标准,易于造成混乱,因而不宜采纳。同时民间文化与大众文化这两个概念在讨论中也应该有所区分。     

论部分大学生主流意识形态淡化的主要原因

当前,在中国高校,有一个不争的事实,就是部分大学生的主流意识形态有所淡化。这一淡化的主要原因有:全球化时代,西方意识形态向高校渗透,腐蚀了部分大学生的价值信念;社会转型时期,各种问题的产生,动摇了部分大学生对共产主义理想的信仰;高校在思想政治工作上的缺失,影响了部分大学生主流意识形态的提升与巩固;大众文化对高校校园文化的冲击,导致部分大学生的崇高理想失落。
