工学互动组合:重构高职教育双师型教学团队的新思路

建立"工学互动组合教学团队",是从根本上解决目前"双师型"教师队伍建设困境的一种新思路.从组织形式和运行模式上来界定"双师型"教学团队,更利于校企紧密合作.强调以"企业本位"思考高职教育内容,以"学校教育"(而非"企业训练")开展高职教育活动,培养有灵性、有修养、有技能、善创新的个性化人才是校企合作的利益共生点.只有在校企双方利益共生共存中寻找行动策略,才能实现高职院校教学活动的"职业性"特征.     

数学思想、数学活动与小学数学教学

将"基本(数学)思想"与"基本(数学)活动经验"明确纳入"数学课程目标"之中有一定的合理性。以小学数学教学为背景对此作进一步分析:我们不仅应当针对不同的教学对象对此作出更为具体的界定,从而切实防止简单移植的现象,而且也应很好地处理具体知识内容的学习与基本数学思想的学习以及过程与结果之间的关系,而不应将此绝对地割裂开来。     

改革开放以来我国普及义务教育的回眸

改革开放以来,党和国家十分重视义务教育的普及,采取了很多重大措施来推进义务教育的普及工作,使得我国实现了预定的到1990年“普初”的目标,到2000年基本“普九”的目标。到现在,我国普及义务教育的程度达到了较高水平。在这一过程中,积累了许多值得总结和继续发扬的普及义务教育的经验。

Out of the book and into the classroom: The experiences of Korean social studies pre-service teachers in an international teaching practicum in the United States

Despite the growing interest and importance of pre-service teachers’ cross-cultural experiences, a review of the literature shows that few studies have discussed the international teaching practicum experiences of pre-service teachers from Asian countries. Bridging this gap, this qualitative case study examined the perceptions and experiences of 15 Korean social studies pre-service teachers who participated in an international teaching practicum in the United States. The findings of the study demonstrated that although participants encountered difficulties in speaking a foreign language and adjusting to a different culture, they also gained confidence and self-efficacy by negotiating and actively participating in the teaching and learning process. This international teaching practicum also helped participants promote their own understanding of multiculturalism and their different perspectives of the teachers’ roles, teaching pedagogies, and local education systems. This study offers implications for future multicultural professional development in teacher education and contributes to developing a body of research and scholarship on international teaching practicums from Asian contexts that have, to date, been largely underexplored.

Connections between learning and teaching: EFL teachers’ reflective practice

This study explores six Vietnamese, English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers’ reflections on their experiences of English language learning during the early 1980s to the late 1990s. Data collected in narrative interviews with the participating teachers revealed a wide range of issues that arose during their EFL learning, central to which was the prevalence of grammar-focused practices in all EFL classes. From their perspectives as EFL teachers today, the participants see their learning experience as a way of learning to teach. In particular, they pinpoint the negative aspects of language teaching at that time in the hope that their teaching practice today will not repeat the same mistakes. However, they also reflect on positive aspects, especially their influential teachers, to inform their teaching. Based on the findings, the study suggests that language teachers’ experience of language learning should be considered part of reflective teaching as well as of teachers’ trajectories of learning to teach.     

Measuring the Impact of Professional Accreditation on Student Experiences and Learning Outcomes

This research uses a conceptual model to examine the influence of a change in accreditation standards on a representative national sample of 203 engineering programs at 40 institutions. Based on data collected from more than 140 program chairs, 1,200 faculty, 4,300 graduates of 2004, and 5,400 graduates of 1994, the study investigates the differential impact of the change in accreditation standards on programs reviewed in different years during the period of transition. Despite significant variation across most of the measures and groups in 1994 (before the introduction of the new accreditation criteria), the 2004 evidence demonstrates a surprisingly uniform level of student experiences and outcomes. These findings suggest that engineering accreditation is beginning to accomplish its quality assurance goals. Digital curation for promoting personalized learning: A study of secondary-school science students’ learning experiences

Abstract

The article presents a research study that examined the ways in which digital curation promotes personalized learning, as well as the students’ experiences of this learning process. The study was conducted in the context of K-12 education. Participants spent three months on a project that included curating a personalized digital collection. The study was conducted using a phenomenological qualitative approach for the collection and processing of data. Findings demonstrate that digital curation provides a productive learning activity that supports significant personalized, emotional, and cognitive learning experiences, enabling the curator to construct a personal subject ontology.     

Facing and managing dilemmas as a clinical educator

Although clinical educators make an important and irreplaceable contribution to the education of students undertaking qualifications that will enable them to practise as health professionals, little is known about the day‐to‐day experiences of clinical educators and the complexities of clinical education that may contribute to the problems or to the successes of clinical educators. This paper reports on one aspect of a study that sought to increase the understanding and appreciation of the roles and responsibilities of being a clinical educator. The lived experiences of clinical educators in speech pathology ¹ 1. Also known as speech‐language pathology in North America and speech‐language therapy in the UK. View all notes were explored in depth, over a sustained period of time, in an attempt to understand what it is like to be a clinical educator. This paper uses narrative data to illustrate dilemmas faced by clinical educators in our study, and discusses implications pertinent to clinical educators in a range of health disciplines in higher education.
